The hybrid-epistemic model of quantum mechanics and the possible solution to the measurement problem

2017 - English In this study we introduce and describe in details the hybrid-epistemic model for quantum mechanics. The main differences with respect to the standard model are following: (1) the measurement process is considered as an internal process inside quantum mechanics, i.e. it does not make a part of axioms and (2) the process of the observation of the state of the individual measuring system is introduced into axioms. The intrinsic measurement process is described in two variants (simplified and generalized). Our model contains hybrid, epistemic and hybrid-epistemic systems. Each hybrid system contains a unique orthogonal base composed from homogeneous (i.e. ontic) states. We show that in our model the measurement problem is consistently solvable. Our model represents the rational compromise between the Bohr’s view (the ontic model) and the Einstein’s view (the epistemic model). 2017 - Czech Most of the central banks under review, including the ECB, are keeping their interest rates at low levels. The US Fed was alone in raising its key interest rate by 0.25 pp to 0.75%–1.00% as expected, and is addressing the issue of reducing its balance sheet. Although inflation is close to central banks’ inflation targets in all the economies under review except Switzerland, most of the banks are maintaining their unconventional monetary policy programmes. The Swedish Riks bank raised its target amount for government bond purchases. Spotlight focuses on the options and strategies for reducing the US Federal Reserve’s balance sheet. In our Selected Speech, SNB Governor Thomas J. Jordan talks about the effect of the increase in the SNB’s balance sheet on its investment policy. Většina sledovaných centrálních bank včetně ECB udržuje své úrokové sazby stále na nízké úrovni, pouze americký Fed v souladu s očekáváními svou klíčovou úrokovou sazbu zvýšil o dalších 0,25 p.b. na 0,75 –1,00 % a řeší problematiku snižování velikosti své bilance. Inflace se ve všech sledovaných ekonomikách kromě Švýcarska nachází v blízkosti inflačních cílů centrálních bank, nicméně většina z nich pokračuje v programech nekonvenční měnové politiky. International Spillovers of (Un)Conventional Monetary Policy

2017 - English We estimate a global vector autoregression model to examine the effects of euro area and US monetary policy stances, together with the effect of euro area consumer prices, on economic activity and prices in non-euro EU countries using monthly data from 2001-2016. Along with some standard macroeconomic variables, our model contains measures of the shadow monetary policy rate to address the zero lower bound and the implementation of unconventional monetary policy by the European Central Bank and US Federal Reserve. We find that these monetary shocks have the expected qualitative effects but their magnitude differs across countries, with Southeastern EU economies being less affected than their peers in Central Europe. Euro area monetary shocks have greater effects than those that emanate from the US. We also find certain evidence that the effects of unconventional monetary policy measures are weaker than those of conventional measures. The spillovers of euro area price shocks to non-euro EU countries are limited, suggesting that the law of one price materializes slowly. Odhadujeme model globální vektorové autoregrese, který zkoumá dopady měnové politiky eurozóny a amerického Fedu společně s dopadem spotřebitelských cen v eurozóně na hospodářskou aktivitu a ceny v zemích mimo eurozónu. Používáme měsíční údaje z let 2001-2016. Spolu s některými standardními makroekonomickými proměnnými obsahuje náš model odhady míry stínové měnové politiky kvůli nulové dolní mezi na úrokové sazby a kvůli provádění nekonvenční měnové politiky ze strany Evropské centrální banky a Federálního rezervního systému USA. Zjistili jsme, že tyto měnové šoky mají očekávané kvalitativní efekty, ale jejich dopady se v jednotlivých zemích liší, přičemž ekonomiky jihovýchodní EU jsou ovlivněny méně než země ve střední Evropě. Nalézáme, že měnové šoky v eurozóně mají vetší efekty než ty, které pocházejí z USA. Naše výsledky rovněž naznačují, že efekty nekonvenčních opatření měnové politiky jsou slabší než efekty konvenčních opatření. Efekt cenových šoků zemí eurozóny do zemí mimo eurozónu je omezený, což naznačuje, že zákon jedné ceny se projevuje pomalu. 2017 - Czech The May issue of Global Economic Outlook presents the regular monthly overview of recent and expected developments in selected territories, focusing on key economic variables: inflation, GDP growth, leading indicators, interest rates, exchange rates and commodity prices. In this issue, we focus on the question of whether the oil market is approaching equilibrium. We consider in more detail, among other things, the behaviour of OPEC and US shale oil producers observed over the last three years. We also attempt to identify the causes of occasional sharp swings in oil prices. Květnové vydání měsíčníku Globální ekonomický výhled přináší pravidelný přehled aktuálního i očekávaného vývoje ve vybraných teritoriích se zaměřením na hlavní ekonomické veličiny: inflaci, růst HDP, předstihové ukazatele, úrokové sazby, měnové kurzy a ceny komodit. V tomto čísle zaměřujeme svoji pozornost na zodpovězení otázky, zda se trh s ropou blíží ke své rovnováze. Zde se blíže věnujeme, mimo jiného, chování kartelu OPEC nebo producentů břidlicové ropy v USA, pozorovanému v posledních třech letech. Dále se pokoušíme odpověděti na to, jaké jsou příčiny občasných prudkých výkyvů cen ropy. The particle model for the Higgs’ condensate and the anomalous geometrical diffraction

2017 - English In this paper we propose a particle model for the Higgs’ condensate: we propose that this condensate is the set of (infinite velocity) non-local tachyons. We show that then there exists the anomalous geometrical diffraction (which contradicts to quantum mechanics). We show that there exists a universal time constant which defines the limits of the validity of quantum mechanics. We propose an experiment testing the existence of the anomalous geometrical diffraction. We proposed the dark energy conjecture which enables to make an estimate of the time constant. We assume certain (“Feynman”) interaction between standard particle and the nonlocal tachyon. All this is related to the new (finite) form of the Feynman integral. Inflation has now exceeded the 1% level in all the monitored economies except Switzerland and seems to be heading towards central banks’ inflation targets. However, most of the banks are still maintaining their unconventional monetary policy programmes. Spotlight focuses on modern forms of central bank communication. In our Selected Speech, the deputy governor of the Bank of England Sir Jon Cunliffe presents the results of a survey of the investment behaviour of firms, an essential element of the monetary policy transmission mechanism. Většina sledovaných centrálních bank včetně ECB udržuje své úrokové sazby stále na nízké úrovni. Pouze americký Fed v souladu s očekáváními svou klíčovou úrokovou sazbu zvýšil o 0,25 p.b. Inflace sice u všech sledovaných ekonomik kromě Švýcarska již překročila 1% úroveň a zdá se, že míří k inflačním cílům centrálních bank, nicméně většina z nich stále udržuje své programy nekonvenční měnové politiky.
