Msgre. Bohumil Stašek and Czechoslovak People's Party
Pehr, Michal
2009 - Czech
The study deals with the relationship of Bohumil Stašek toward the Czechoslovak People’s Party. Bohumil Stašek was a prominent Czech Catholic priest, long active in the field of political Catholicism. During the First-Republic era he even became the head of the Czech part of the Czechoslovak People’s Party, representing political Catholicism in the Czech lands. Bohumil Stašek’s contribution, however, falls under the category of political science as well, as he occupied himself also with proposals concerning a reform of democratic systems.

2009 - Czech
Masaryk´s realism was a response to insufficient knowledge on society and its problems. In its basis was a struggle for scientific knowledge in relation to important areas of society life through methods used in anumber of disciplines. Masaryk viewed relevant and thorough knowledge about society and its problems, needs and possibilities as a condition for its positive development and foe democratization. In this respect he influenced a part of young generation.

Beneš’ Concept of Democratic State in the course of the World War I and in the beginning of state
Broklová, Eva
2009 - Czech
In his intentions and aims related to the establishment of the Czechoslovak State and its keeping within the founding ideas, E. Beneš was in agreement with T. G. Masaryk. The resistance movement’s starting point was that limitations upon the power of nation do not comply with democratic principles. In his works, Beneš however shows autonomous ways of solving political issues, mostly grounded on a scientific base. His concept was based on a study of individualism in the history of philosophy, theory of political partisanship, democratic ideals, and empiric method. To solve the Czech issue he demanded that Austria-Hungary should be overthrown as being an oppressor of nations and a support of Germany. He intended to build "The most democratic state from a social point of view and the most progressive one from a political viewpoint". Beneš was a co-creator and re-builder of a state. Hodlal vybudovat "Stát nejdemokratičtější z hlediska sociálního a nejpokročilejší z hlediska politického". Po druhé světové válce řešil teoreticky otázku možností nutné spolupráce a sblížení systému politické demokracie a sovětského socialismu. Beneš byl spolutvůrcem a obnovitelem státu.
