Agrarian Party and the Democracy (Probe)

2007 - Czech A part of historical literature (prior 1989 as well as after 1989) overestimates the rightist character of the Agrarian Party in the political system of the first Republic. Consequently, such literature considers this system as having significant authoritarian potencials. It interprets certain degree of antagonism between the Right and the Left, between the city and the country, the idustry and agriculture as conflicts between fascist orientation and the democratic forces. The essay is also concerned with the relationships between the Agrarian Party and President Beneš. On the basis of archival sources it shows that Edvard Beneš counted with the existence of a reformed Agrarian Party after the World War II. It was excluded from the system of political parties by competing political parties of National Front. Část dosavadní literatury (předlistopadové i polistopadové) přeceňuje pravicovost agrární strany a dalších pravicových stran v politickém systému první republiky a v důsledku toho spatřuje v demokratickém systému významný autoritativní potenciál. Rozpory štěpící společnost, mezi pravicí a levicí, mezi městem a venkovem, průmyslem a zemědělstvím literatura mylně vykládá jako rozpory mezi fašizujícími a demokratickými silami. Příspěvek dál řeší vztah agrární strany a prezidenta Beneše. Archivními dokumenty dokládá, že Edvard Beneš počítal s reformovanou zemědělskou stranou po druhé světové válce. Ze systému stran ji vyřadily konkurenční politické strany Národní fronty. The forgotten poet of Turnov - J. V. Šimák

2006 - Czech The paper is devoted to poetry written by historian J. V. Šimák (1870-1940), concerned with it during his whole life; this activity is above all described for years 1866-1907. The paper deals mostly with Šimák´s epic poetry, especially with a piece Tur (1903). Four examples of as yet unpublished poetry are attached. Příspěvek se věnuje básnické tvorbě historika J. V. Šimáka (1870-1941), který psal příležitostně poezii po celý svůj život. Charakterizuje jeho tvorbu zejména v letech 1886-1907. Podává hlavně rozbor umělecky hodnotnější epiky, částečně uveřejněné časopisecky (Osvěta). Nejvíce se zaměřuje na lyricko-epickou básnickou skladbu Tur (otištěnou v Památníku Sokola turnovského i samostatně r. 1903). Připojeny jsou čtyři ukázky převážně dosud nepublikované Šimákovy poezie. Processing and Publication of Photographs of E. Beneš archival collection - Internet Archival Service

2006 - Czech Comprehensive text introduces the E. Beneš collection of photographs and instructions how to exploit modern technology used by archivists. It also provides basic information on history of processing the collection, explains its final form of storage and its digital organization. Special attention was paid to accessibility of photographs a) with the help of printed aid and, b) by the use of original database in research room, c) accessibility on Internet (bachmsu.mua.cas.cz/bachmsu). The text also introduces especially developed so called Digital Photoarchives and describes its parts: Introduction, Search and Help. The programme, equipped with English version, makes so far available photographs from the collection of E. Beneš and Smutný. This English version will be gradually expanded. Syntetický text seznámil odborné fórum se zpracováním a zpřístupněním fotografií fondu E. Beneš, resp. s možnostmi moderních technologií, které archiváři při této práci využili. Stručně informoval o historií zpracování fotografií fondu a analyzoval definitivní podobu fyzického uložení fotografií i jejich digitální uspořádání. Podrobně se věnoval zpřístupnění fotografií nejen a) prostřednictvím tištěné pomůcky a b) prostřednictvím originálu databáze na pracovní stanici v badatelně, ale především c) aplikací pro přístup po internetu (bachmsu.mua.cas.cz/bachmsu). Podrobně představil originálně vyvinutý tzv. Digitální fotoarchiv a popsal jeho segmenty úvod, hledání a nápověda. Aplikace, opatřena anglickou jazykovou mutací, dosud zpřístupňuje fotografie fondu Beneš a Smutný a je možné ji snadno rozšiřovat o další fondy. 2006 - Czech The author concentrated on letters among J. Němec and the children Karel, Jaroslav and Dora and on letters among the brothers and sisters themselves that still remained unnoticed and hidden. The letters contain valuable information not only about their personal life but also about their everyday life, about the cultural and political development of the Czech society during the second half of the 19th century. They have also other dimension given by the fact that J. Němec worked in Russia. It is possible to find interesting facts in his letters that broaden our knowledge about the history of travelling, about the way of life of Russian and Tartar people, about the life of Czechs in Russia and the information about the history of medicine. Because both sons were distinguished pomologists, information about the development of this field is noticed, too. The family letters contain also the important information about so called B. Němcová's second life. Autorka se zaměřila na korespondenci Josefa Němce s dětmi Karlem, Jaroslavem a Dorou a na korespondenci mezi sourozenci navzájem, jež stále zůstává badatelskou obcí nepovšimnuta a před veřejností skryta. Obsahuje přitom cenné informace nejen o osobním životě jejich protagonistů, ale i k dějinám všedního dne, ke kulturnímu a politickému vývoji české společnosti 2. poloviny 19. století. Má i další rozměr, daný tím, že Jaroslav Němec odešel za prací do Ruska. V jeho dopisech lze nalézt zajímavé údaje, které rozšiřují naše poznatky o dějinách cestování, o tehdejším způsobu života ruského i tatarského obyvatelstva, o životě zdraví a léčbě nemocí, tedy k dějinám medicíny. Protože Karel i Jaroslav byli významnými pomology, nechybí zde ani údaje o stavu a vývoji tohoto oboru. Rodinná korespondence obsahuje mj. i cenné informace k tzv. druhému životu B. Němcové. 2006 - Czech Bohumil Vavroušek was a very important personality linked with the idea of Czechoslovakism and therefore with Czechoslovakia in the years 1918-1938. In the course of his life he mapped folk and church architecture and collected documents of Czech writers, awakeners and artists. Bohumil Vavroušek byl významnou osobností spojenou s myšlenkou čechoslovakismu a s Československem v letech 1918-1938. Během svého života mapoval lidovou a církevní architekturu a sbíral dokumenty k českým spisovatelům, obrozencům a umělcům.
