Speciation analysis employing hydride generation

The lecture presented employing of different ways of hydride generation- selective generation, postcolumn generation and cryotrapping- useful of element speciation analysis. Examples from our laboratory covered applications from the field of clinical, food and natural water analysis. Přednáška prezentovala různé způsoby využití postupu generování hydridů- selektivní generování, postkolonové generování a generování s kryoseparací- v prvkových speciačních analýzách. Příklady z naší laboratoře zahrnovaly aplikace z oblasti klinické analýzy, analýzy potravin a přírodních vod.

Various techniques of volatile species generation, the ways of coupling to ICP-MS and recent results of our laboratory in the field of photochemical vapor generation of transition metals were presented in this lecture. V rámci této přednášky byly prezentovány různé techniky generování těkavých sloučenin (specií), možnosti spojení s ICP-MS a nedávné výsledky naší laboratoře v oblasti fotochemického generování těkavých specií přechodných prvků.

The establishment of the State Institute of Archaeology is connected with the extraordinary personality of Lubor Niederle, its founder and first director, who formulated the concept of the scientific work of the new institution. It started operating in the early 1920s and in the first decade of its existence faced serious financial and personnel problems that limited its activities. Since the 1930s, Jaroslav Böhm, director of the State Institute of Archaeology since 1939, devoted himself to the fulfillment of Niederle's concept. His goal was to build the institute as a modern institution that would stand at the forefront of Czechoslovak archaeology. After the incorporation of the State Institute of Archaeology into the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences in 1953, Jaroslav Böhm focused on consolidating its position as a center for scientific and research work. He was largely responsible for the fact that the Institute of Archaeology ranked at the top of the field on an international scale in the first two post-war decades. Vznik Státního archeologického ústavu je spojen s mimořádnou osobností Lubora Niederla, jeho zakladatele a prvního ředitele, jenž formuloval koncepci vědecké práce nové instituce. Začala fungovat na počátku roku 1920 a v prvním desetiletí své existence se potýkala s vážnými finančními a personálními problémy, které omezovaly její činnost. Naplnění Niederlovy koncepce se od třicátých let 20. století věnoval s plným nasazením Jaroslav Böhm, od roku 1939 ředitel Státního archeologického ústavu. Jeho cílem bylo vybudovat ústav jako moderní instituci, která by stála v čele československé archeologie. Po začlenění Státního archeologického ústavu do Československé akademie věd v roce 1953 se Jaroslav Böhm zaměřil na upevnění jeho pozice jako ústředí vědecké a výzkumné práce. Z velké části se zasloužil o to, že se Archeologický ústav v prvních dvou poválečných dekádách zařadil na špičku oboru v mezinárodním měřítku.

In the last years of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, it is possible to observe in literature and the visual arts the destabilisation of previously valid values in relation to tradition, which was no longer able to sufficiently express the world in its completeness. This process can also be observed in art historical research, in its shift away from research into the autonomous development of art towards defining a work of art by thinking about the time of its creation. This transformation is identified in particular with the influence of the spiritual sciences (Geisteswissenschaften), which were also developed by the Czech-born art historian Max Dvořák. In this paper it will be shown, using his thought as an example, how the art historical definition of the work of art can be related to the art of the early 20th century, i.e. as defining itself against the hitherto valid thought concepts of the late 19th century. V posledních letech rakousko-uherské monarchie je možné v literatuře i výtvarném umění sledovat destabilizaci doposud platných hodnot ve vztahu k tradici, která již nebyla schopna dostatečně vyjadřovat svět v jeho úplnosti. Tento proces je možné pozorovat také v uměleckohistorickém zkoumání, a to v jeho odklonu od výzkumu autonomního vývoje umění k definici uměleckého díla myšlením doby jeho vzniku. Tato proměna je ztotožňována zejména s vlivem duchovních věd (Geisteswissenschaften), které rozvíjel i historik umění českého původu Max Dvořák. V příspěvku bude na příkladu jeho myšlení ukázáno, jak uměleckohistorická definice uměleckého díla může souviset s uměním raného 20. století, tedy jakožto vymezující se vůči doposud platným myšlenkovým konceptům pozdního 19. století.

Five in situ campaigns focused on aerosol-cloud interactions were conducted at Mount Milešovka in the Czech Republic to gain more insight into aerosol activation and its dependence on meteorological parameters, mainly vertical air velocity and position within the cloud. The activated fraction was calculated from the difference of concentrations measured behind the whole air inlet and the PM2.5 inlet. The liquid water content (LWC) was calculated from visibility, cloud base position was estimated from ceilometer data. Vertical air velocity was estimated from cloud radar. No strong dependence was found between visibility and vertical velocity, suggesting that the clouds at the station are mostly of advection or inversion origin. Both visibility and LWC depend on the position within the cloud, with the highest LWC values found when the station was between 100 and 400 m above the cloud base, independently of the actual value. Na hoře Milešovka v České republice bylo provedeno pět in situ kampaní zaměřených na interakci aerosolu s oblakem, jejichž cílem bylo získat více informací o aktivaci aerosolu a její závislosti na meteorologických parametrech, především vertikální rychlosti proudění vzduchu a poloze v oblaku. Aktivovaná frakce byla vypočtena z rozdílu koncentrací naměřených za vtokem celého vzduchu a za vtokem PM2,5 . Obsah kapalné vody (LWC) byl vypočten z dohlednosti, poloha základny mraku byla odhadnuta z údajů ceilometru. Vertikální rychlost proudění vzduchu byla odhadnuta z radarového měření oblačnosti. Nebyla zjištěna žádná silná závislost mezi dohledností a vertikální rychlostí, což naznačuje, že oblačnost na stanici je většinou advekčního nebo inverzního původu. Viditelnost i LWC závisí na poloze v oblaku, přičemž nejvyšší hodnoty LWC byly zjištěny, když se stanice nacházela ve výšce 100 až 400 m nad základnou oblaku, nezávisle na skutečné hodnotě.

New paths to recent music: Archives, documentation centres, and museums related to Czech popular music

The article presents a comprehensive view of documenting the history of popular music in the contemporary Czech Republic. After a historical introduction, outlining the broader historical context of the domestic situation and a brief context of the situation abroad, the author introduces new institutions, mostly non-profit organizations, which began to emerge after 1989 with the aim of collecting, archiving, and making available archival materials which tell the history of various areas of Czech and Czechoslovak popular music and culture. Through their activities, they have replaced, and continue to do it, the nonexistent interest in this area of culture on the part of the state, which persisted from the pre1989 period (that is before the fall of the communist regime in the former Czechoslovakia). Self-help activities are gradually finding their interdependence with, if not anchorage in, the state or academic environment. The archival and museum institutions established after 1989 focused on the previously neglected area of popular music and unofficial culture – such as Libri prohibiti, Popmuseum, Centre for the Study of Popular Culture, and Archive of Czech and Slovak Subcultures – cooperate with each other and with those previously established. Článek přináší souhrnný pohled na problematiku dokumentace historie populární hudby v současné České republice. Po historickém úvodu, nastiňujícím širší historický kontext domácí situace a stručný kontext situace v zahraničí, autor představuje nové instituce, většinou neziskové organizace, které začaly vznikat po roce 1989 s cílem sběru, archivace a zpřístupnění archivních materiálů vypovídajících o historii různých oblastí české a československé populární hudby a kultury. Svou činností suplovaly a dodnes suplují neexistující zájem o danou oblast kultury ze strany státu, přetrvávající z dob před rokem 1989 (tedy před pádem komunistického režimu v někdejším Československu). Svépomocné aktivity postupně nacházejí svou provázanost se státním nebo akademickým prostředím, ne-li přímo ukotvení v něm. Archivní a muzejní instituce vzniklé po roce 1989 se zřetelem k dříve opomíjené oblasti populární hudby a neoficiální kultury (Libriprohibiti, Popmuseum, Centrum pro studium populární kultury, Archiv českých a slovenských subkultur ad.) spolupracují s těmi dříve vzniklými i společně navzájem.

The paper focuses on the method of measuring ionizing radiation using optical fibers. It focuses on the description and characterization of the method where optical fibers are used to transmit scintillation radiation. Different types of optical fibres are compared together with different types of scintillation sensors. Příspěvek se zaměřuje na metodu měření ionizujícího záření s využitím optických vláken. Zaměřuje se na popsání a charakterizaci metody, kdy dochází k využití optických vláken k přenosu scintilačního záření. Porovnány jsou jednotlivé druhy optických vláken společně s různými druhy scintilačních senzorů.

The chapter deals with the disunity in naming the individual inhabited localities in Czechia, namely with the cases when the railway station, post office and/or cadastral area has\na name different from the municipality (or municipality part) name. It is noted that especially railway station or post office names are often mistakenly identified with the official standardized municipality names. This may lead to misunderstanding and problems in communication. Removing this disunity is difficult due to considerable fragmentation of powers of the individual authorities responsible for the individual names. The second part of the paper investigates the names of cadastral areas. In some cases, these names differ from the municipality names just because the municipality had been officially renamed, but the corresponding change of the cadastral area name did not take place. Kapitola se zabývá „vícekolejností“ pojmenování jednotlivých sídelních lokalit v Česku, konkrétně pak případy, kdy železniční stanice, pošta a/nebo katastrální území má odlišné pojmenování než daná obec, případně její část. Autor upozorňuje, že zvláště názvy železničních stanic nebo pošt jsou často mylně ztotožňovány s oficiálními standardizovanými názvy obcí. Nezřídka pak může docházet k omylům a komunikačním problémům. Odstranění vícekolejnosti je obtížné kvůli značné roztříštěnosti pravomocí institucí, které jednotlivé názvy schvalují. Druhá část textu se věnuje názvům katastrálních území. Tato pojmenování se někdy od názvů obcí odlišují z toho důvodu, že obec byla oficiálně přejmenována, avšak k odpovídající změně názvu katastrálního území již nedošlo.
