Selected laser technologies in education of students of physical fields of study

This contribution informs about the increasing usage of laser systems in various industrial applications. In the light of this development, it is essential to update current lectures. Students of the physical and technical fields of study should improve their knowledge of basic sorts and principles of laser technologies, which they can come across in their future practice. Our laboratory is equipped with high power laser system, therefore we are able to provide students with experimental work apart from a theoretical presentation. Příspěvek poukazuje na rostoucí využívání laserových systémů v průmyslové výrobě. V návaznosti je nutné modernizovat a rozšiřovat výuku studentů fyzikálních a technických oborů, aby získali přehled o základních typech a principech běžně užívaných laserových technologií, se kterými se mohou setkat ve své budoucí praxi. Vzhledem k vybavenosti naší laboratoře vysokovýkonným laserovým systémem nabízíme studentům kromě teoretického výkladu také možnost řešení experimentálních úloh.

Generation of singlet oxygen for a chemical oxygen-iodine laser

The paper deals with a chemical spray singlet oxygen generator for a chemical oxygen-iodine laser that was designed in the Institute of Physics AS in cooperation with the Institute of Thermomechanics AS. Preliminary experimental results obtained on parametric investigation of this device are presented. Článek se týká výzkumu chemického sprejového generátoru singletového kyslíku pro chemický kyslík-jodový laser, který byl originálně navržen v FZÚ AV ve spolupráci s ÚT AV. Jsou uvedeny některé výsledky získané během studia parametrů tohoto generátoru.

We have studied the shape of QDs in structures with vertically correlated QDs where two layers of QDs were grown. We investigated the influence of spacer thickness on lateral shape (elongation) of QDs and photoluminescence intensity. Studovali jsme tvar QD ve strukturách s vertikálně korelovanými kvantovými tečkami ve dvou vrstvách. Zaměřili jsme se na vliv oddělovací vrstvy na laterální tvar (prodloužení) QD a na intensitu fotoluminiscence.

One method which enables the shift of photoluminescence spectra of InAs/GaAs quantum dots toward longer wavelengths is the covering of the dots by In.sub.x./sub.Ga.sub.1-x./sub.As strain reducing layer. With the increasing x we have observed the shift of PL maxima from 1.28 μm to 1.46 μm. Jedním ze způsobů umožňujících posuv fotoluminiscenčního spektra InAs/GaAs kvantových teček k delším vlnovým délkám je jejich překrytí vrstvou In.sub.x./sub.Ga.sub.1-x./sub.As redukující pnutí. S rostoucím x byl pozorován posuv PL maxima od 1.28 μm k 1.46 μm.

We have investigated single layer InAs QDs on GaAs substrate grown by MOVPE by means of magnetophotoluminescence up to 24 T. Fitting the field-dependence of band positions, we have found the ratio of lateral sizes within 1.5 –1.7, and the effective mass of 0.04 – 0.05. Zkoumali jsme izolovanou vrstvu InAs kvantových teček na GaAs substrátu připravenou technikou MOVPE pomocí magnetofotoluminiscence v poli do 24 T. Fitováním energiových posunů jsme určili poměr laterálních délek 1.5 – 1.7 a efektivní hmotnost 0.04 – 0.05.

Solidification of ZnCl2 melt was studied experimentally by methods of thermal analysis and theoretically by construction of TTT curves. Tuhnutí taveniny ZnCl2 bylo studováno experimentálně metodami termické analýzy a teoreticky konstrukcí TTT křivek.

Phase analysis using Fourier transform profilometry

The profilometry method used here is the Fourier-Transform Profilometry Method that was originally published by Takeda in 1982. The geometry of the experiment is very similar that used in Moiré Topography, but the advantage of this method is only one image of the projected grating is necessary to produce the resulting object´s fringes. Fourierovská topografie publikovaná v tomto příspěvku pracuje na principu výpočtu změny fáze mezi referenční a objektovou přímkou. Sestava experimentu je podobná moiré topografii. Citlivost Fourierovské profilometrie je vyšší než moiré.

The presented paper is dealt with the methods of the optical 3D measurement of the shape of objects. Generally, optical methods are employed especially for the possibility of contact-less measurement. The presented mehods are the shadow and projection moiré topograpy and the computational, Fourier and stereoscopic profilometry. Jedná se o přehledový článek, v němž jsou prezentovány topografické metody vyvíjené ve Společné laboratoři optiky v Olomouci.
