Survey of the Přibyslav underground corridor by ground penetrating radar

A non-destructive survey of the Přibyslav underground corridor using ground penetrating radar was carried out. The aim of the measurement was to verify the existence of possible structures hidden under the current surface of the corridor. The survey located the backfill above the bedrock of the underground corridor and other changes in the structure. Byl realizován nedestruktivní průzkum Přibyslavské štoly pomocí zemního radaru. Cílem měření bylo ověření existence případných prostor skrytých pod současným povrchem štoly. Průzkum lokalizoval násyp nad skalním podložím štoly a další nehomogenity.

Using an electron microscope and EDS analysis, samples from two locations were examined - a sample of mortar from the tower of the monastery in Sázava and two samples of plaster from the Apolinař building in Prague (Apolinář - face, Apolinář - soil). The aim of the investigation was to determine the type of binder for plasters and coatings on plaster. A strongly hydraulic binder was identified in all three analyzed samples. omocí elektronového mikroskopu a EDS analýzy byly zkoumány vzorky ze dvou lokalit - vzorek malty z věže kláštera v Sázavě a dva vzorky omítky z objektu Apolinář v Praze (Apolinář – líc, Apolinář – půda). Cílem zkoumání bylo zejména určit druh pojiva omítek a nátěrů na omítce. Ve všech třech analyzovaných vzorcích bylo identifikováno silně hydraulické pojivo.

The report contains the results of material analyses of five mortar beds of mosaics produced by the Austrian studios Neuhauser/Tiroler Glasmalerei and Josef Pfefferle. The analysed samples come from mosaics made at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and located in various places in Tyrol. The mortars were analysed by SEM-EDS and thermal analysis. The results showed that, in addition to traditional materials such as marble dust, they also contain atypical or innovative components such as waste ceramic and glass shards or early Portland cement.

Investigation of basic mechanical and fracture-mechanical properties of specimens cut from high pressure gas pipeline – locality L177/2 after a fourteen months exposition to moist hydrogen at the pressure 3 MPa

Investigation of the effect of moist hydrogen pressurized to 3 MPa on mechanical and fracture properties of gas pipeline steel ČSN 13126, tensile specimens, Charpy specimens and CT specimens were kept loaded during the exposition in moist hydrogen, after a fourteen months exposition it was found that ductility of tensile specimens and fracture parameters Jin and J0,2 of CT specimens decreased whilst the parameter Jm was slightly increased.\n Vyšetření vlivu vlhkého vodíku stlačeného na tlak 3 MPa na mechanické a lomové vlastnosti plynovodní oceli ČSN 13126, tahové vzorky, Charpy vzorky i CT vzorky byly během expozice ve vlhkém vodíku trvale zatíženy, po čtrnácti měsících expozice byl zjištěn pokles tažnosti tahových vzorků, pokles lomových parametrů Jin a J0,2 a mírné zvýšení parametru Jm.

Contribution to the investigation of the oldest history of the Telč Castle

The summary research report presents the results of research into the oldest building relics of Telč Castle. It uses radiocarbon dating of skeletal remains, non-destructive surveying by thermal imaging and ground-penetrating radar, and 3D photogrammetric reconstructions of the shape and dimensions of architectural elements. It also analyzes Templar traces in Telč region and in the wider region. Souhrnná výzkumná zpráva předkládá výsledky výzkumu nejstarších stavebních reliktů telčského zámku. Využívá radiouhlíkového datování kosterních pozůstatků, nedestruktivního průzkumu termovizí a georadarem a 3D fotogrammetrických rekonstrukcí tvaru a rozměrů architektonických prvků. Analyzuje i templářské stopy na Telčsku a v širším regionu.

Scientific report. Research on the composition of inks in a historical book by means of the X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF)

Computed tomography (CT) of a unique book from the National Library of the Czech Republic - Slavonic Library was performed in the TORATOM tomograph in Center Telč, Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Czech Academy of Sciences. The book is a 17th century euchologion originating in Kiev. During the tomographic scanning, the possibility of measuring the composition of the inks used in the book was discussed. In general, there are parts printed in black and parts printed in red in the book. Therefore, the measurement described in this report was carried out, where several pages of the work were measured in the area of black ink, red ink and in the area without ink. V tomografu TORATOM v Centru Telč Ústavu teoretické a aplikované mechaniky, AVČR, byla provedena výpočetní tomografie (CT) vzácné knihy z Národní knihovny ČR – Slovanské knihovny. Jedná se o Euchologion, pocházející z Kyjeva ze 17. století. Během měření byla diskutována možnost měření složení inkoustů, kterými je kniha tištěna. Obecně se v knize vyskytují části tištěné černě a části tištěné červeně. Proto došlo k realizaci měření popisovaného v této zprávě, kde bylo změřeno několik stran díla v oblasti černého inkoustu, červeného inkoustu a v oblasti bez inkoustu.

An analysis of historical plaster was carried out using thermal analysis and SEM-EDS analysis. The binders and aggregates of mortars and their surface treatments were characterized. The survey results were used for the design of the repair mortars. V rámci stavebně-technického průzkumu byl proveden rozbor vzorků historických omítek s využitím termické analýzy a SEM‐EDS analýzy. Byla provedena charakterizace plniva a složek pojiva malt a jejich povrchových úprav. Výsledky průzkumných prací byly použity jako podklad pro návrh rekonstrukce objektu.

Chemical and microstructural analysis of plaster sampled from the castle Sychrov (CR) – Breton tower

The analysed mortar contains 76.5% by weight quartz sand and 23.5% wt. the lime binder - it is highly hydraulic lime. The aggregate of the mortar is made up mostly of quartz. The hydraulicity of the contained lime binder is evidenced by the presence of belitic clinkers, a strongly inhomogeneous microstructure (typical alternation of dense, Ca-enriched parts and more porous decalcified areas) and the presence of silicate components in varying degrees of reaction. It is suggested that the hydraulic binder used could have been artificially prepared by mixing lime with a hydraulic silicate additive. Analyzovaná malta obsahuje 76,5 % hm. křemičitého písku a 23,5 % hm. tvoří vápenné pojivo - jedná se o silně hydraulické vápno. Kamenivo malty je tvořeno v naprosté většině křemenem. Hydraulicitu obsaženého vápenného pojiva dokazuje jednak přítomnost belitických slínků, silně nehomogenní mikrostruktura (typické střídání hutných, Ca nabohacených částí a poréznějších dekalcifikovaných oblastí) a dále přítomnost silikátových složek v různé míře zreagování. Nabízí se domněnka, že použité hydraulické pojivo mohlo být připraveno uměle smícháním vápna s hydraulickou silikátovou přísadou.
