Large plastic deformation considering low number of cycles

To solve fatigue problems of steel structures under alternating plastification circumstances, a cumulative damage model has recently proved. For that purpose, the extremely low cycle effect is in accordance with the the parts of damage phenomenon, caused by (i) tensile straining, (ii) ductility exhaustion during cyclic straining, and (iii) crack propagation. The damage owing to the exhaustion mentioned dominates the fatigue damage at the large level of the plastic deformation increase whereas the damage due to crack propagation dominates at the small level of the stated increment K posudku ocelové konstrukce vystavené střídavé plastifikaci a odpovídající akumulaci poškození únavou slouží metodika uvedená v článku. K řešení případů odpovídajícímu velice nízkému počtu cyklů, je sledováno poškození (i) tahovým přetvořením. (ii) vyčerpáním plastických rezerv při velkých tahových silách (iii) růstem trhliny. Akumulace poškození vztažená k vyčerpání zmíněného dominantního poškození únavou roste při vysoké úrovní plastických deformací zatímco poškození způsobené růstem trhliny dominuje při nízké úrovni konstatovaného přírůstku.

Design Analysis According to EUROCODE 7-1 - Pile Foundations

The Paper shows briefly the history and development of the Ultimate Limit State Design of bored piles. Attention focuses on a comparative analysis of the tabular design values and the results of numerical analysis and their suitability for the Czech National Annex of EC7-1. The analysis results are compared with tabular design values of the relevant Czech standard. Příspěvek stručně uvádí historii a vývoj návrhů pilot podle mezního stavu únosnosti. Předložená analýza doplňuje přípravu pro Národní dodatek EC 7-1 v oblasti pilotových základů. Řešení v analýze je založeno na podobnosti numerického modelu, což je vhodné pro vyšetřené chování modelu v celém rozsahu vlastností obvyklých zemin. Výsledky analýza jsou srovnány s tabulkovými výpočtovými hodnotami odpovídající ČSN 73 1002.

The computer revolution allows for considering transition from deterministic and prescriptive structural reliability assessment methods to probabilistic concepts using simulation technique, non-parametric variables, non-traditional criteria and more. The subject of the paper is a draft of Roadmap of the development from current codes to Integrated Design (Performance Based Design, Life Cycle Assessment, Risk Engineering and Monitoring). The attention is given to probabilistic, design (dimensioning) and to the assessment strategy using Simulation-Based Reliability Assessment approach (SBRA) corresponding to the computer era. Počítačová revoluce vytvořila předpoklady k přechodu od deterministických k předpisovým metodám posuzování spolehlivosti konstrukcí s využitím simulační techniky, neparametrického vyjádření proměnných, netradičních kriterií apod.. Předmětem příspěvku je náčrtek mapy naznačující rozvoj současných norem k integrovanému navrhování. Pozornost je zaměřena na pravděpodobnostní navrhování a na strategii posudku s využitím SBRA metody odpovídající éře počítačů.

The subject of the paper is a demonstration of the probabilistic safety assessment of a pressure pipe damaged by a stress corrosion cracking. First the fracture criterion based on the fact that in the instant of the fracture the magnitude of J integral is equal to its critical value Jc is valuated deterministically. Then the attention is paid to the influence of a random variable input quantities on the calculated probability of failure Pf using Simulation-Based Reliability Assessment Method (SBRA). Předmětem příspěvku je ukázka pravděpodobnostního posudku bezpečnosti tlakového potrubí poškozeného korozí. Podmínka porušení křehkým lomem je nejprve založena na rovnosti J integrálu a kritické hodnoty J, což je vyhodnoceno deterministicky. Následuje výpočet pravděpodobnosti poruchy s uvážením nahodilosti proměnných veličin, což je provedeno v souladu se simulační metodou SBRA.

Paper presents approach to characterisation of historic mortars, which is a part of a project that aims at a development of an advanced parametrical data base of properties of historic mortars and renders. The project develops its own method of sampling and selects the information to be collected. Článek prezentuje přístup k detailnímu průzkumu historických malt, jež je součástí projektu, který si klade za cíl vývoj pokročilé parametrické databáze vlastností historických malt a omítek. Na počátku řešení projektu byla upřesněna metoda vzorkování a výběr získávaných informací.

Influence of Partial Material Factors According to EUROCODE 7-1 - Shallow FOundations

A formerly presented similarity solution of bearing capacity of shallow foundations (Koudelka 2006) improved according to EC 7-1 is used in the paper. The solution forms the basis of a comparative analysis enabling a simpler numerical analysis. The scale of the analysis should be sufficiently wide to cover the usual soils. In the frame work of the analysis, the EC7-1 and ČSN 73 1001 design results are compared with the tables of design bearing capacities of ČSN 73 1001. The result evaluation leads to a simple non-conventional conclusion. V příspěvku je použito dříve uveřejněné řešení podobnosti únosnosti plošných základů podle ČSN (Koudelka 2006) doplněné řešením podle EC 7-1. Na tomto základě je zrpacována srovnávací analýza využívající jednodušší numerické vztahy. Rozsah analýzy pokrývá vlastnosti obvyklých zemin. Výsledky obou postupů (ČSN a EC 7-1) porovnány také s tabulkovými hodnotami napětí únosnosti podel ČSN 73 1001. Vyhodnocení výsledků vede k jednoduchému nekonvenčnímu závěru.

The basis of research of wooden constructions of historical buildings is the evaluation of their condition with use of sensorial methods. In cases when some parts of constructions are fully or partially inaccessible and in cases when we want to get deeper knowledge about their qualitative and mechanical condition, it is necessary to use other instrumental methods. Základem každého průzkumu a posouzení dřevěných konstrukcí staveb je hodnocení pomocí smyslových metod, v prvé řadě vizuální, kdy je jakostní stav prvků stanoven na základě viditelných vad a poškození nebo jejich zjevných příznaků. Hodnocení pomocí smyslových metod bývá doplněno jednoduchými mechanickými zkouškami (vryp do povrchu materiálu, odběr třísky) a měřením vlhkosti (případně pH) povrchových i podpovrchových vrstev dřeva, které napoví, jaké jsou v konstrukci podmínky a jaká zde hrozí rizika z hlediska poškození dřeva biologickými i abiotickými činiteli.

TThe presented article treats the case when a non-stationary vibrations are analyzed and the characteristic values of processes are ascertained. Several methods for signal processing are compared, including the Wavelet Multiresolution Analysis and the Empirical Mode Decomposition. The effective values obtained using the respective methods are compared and relevant conclusions related to the practical applications are drawn.
