Labio, a.s. – research study of gas chromatograph enhancement

This project aimed at testing and development of a UV gas chromatograph Labio G11. A spectrometer from the chromatograph was modified in order to increase nitrogen gas flow in the device and speed at which the inner of the spectrometer is filled with nitrogen (that doesn’t absorb in UV). This allowed decreasing startup time of the spectrometer. Additionally, sensitivity of the spectrometer in region below 150 nm was tested and ways to increase this sensitivity were proposed. Projekt byl zaměřen na testování a vývoj UV plynového chromatografu Labio G11. Spektrometr chromatografu byl modifikován, aby došlo k rychlejšímu propláchnutí vnitřního prostoru dusíkem (neabsorbuje v UV) a byla uspíšena připravenost k provozu. Dále byla otestována citlivost spektrometru v UV pod 150 nm a navrženy možnosti rozšíření citlivosti v této oblasti.

Plasma preparation of thick metal layers for mechanical engraving of blazed diffraction gratings

Contract research was focused on preparation and optimization of the deposition process of the selected thick metal layers with a thickness 5 to 10 microns on a polished glass substrates. The emphasis was mainly on the mechanical properties of films: adhesion, porosity, homogeneity, hardness and time stability. Smluvní výzkum byl zaměřen přípravu a optimalizaci procesu depozice vybraných tlustých kovových vrstev o tloušťce 5 až 10 µm na leštěné skleněné substráty. Ze strany zadavatele byl kladen důraz zejména na mechanické vlastnosti vrstev: adheze, porozita, homogenita, tvrdost a časová stálost.

The laser source will be used as a technological tool in building the company's innovation center for technological tests , pilot tests and develop new commercial applications . Cílem studie je poskytnout zadavateli dostatečné a konkrétní informace a podklady k výběru a následnému nákupu laserového zdroje a vhodného příslušenství k němu. Laserový zdroj bude využit jako technologický nástroj v budovaném inovačním centru společnosti k technologickým zkouškám, poloprovozním testům a vývoji nových komerčních aplikací.

Experimental processing of materials with laser beam according the technological requirements of the assignment - the use of appropriate types of lasers based on research ( Phase I) and specify their key technical parameters ( continuous vs pulsed mode, wavelength, pulse duration , pulse shape , power, frequency etc. ). The output is a recommendation of the appropriate type of laser suitable for this technology. Experimentální popis materiálů laserem s ohledem na technologické požadavky v zadání – použití vhodných typů laserů na základě rešerše (fáze I) a specifikování jejich klíčových technických parametrů (kontinuální vs pulsní režim, vlnová délka, délka pulsu tvar pulsu, výkon, frekvence atd.). Výstupem je doporučení vhodného typu laseru vhodného pro tuto technologii.

Comparison of organic scintillators

Optical, luminescence and scintillation characteristics of several organic scintillator samples were compared. Quality of starting materials was found to play a role in the efficiency, while timing characteristics were not changed that much. Energy transfer processes were studied as well. Byly změřeny a porovnány optické, luminiscenční a scintilační charakteristiky vícero vzorků organických scintilátorů. Kvalita zdrojových materiálů pro jejich přípravu měla vliv na jejich scintilační účinnost, méně pak na jejich časové charakteristiky. Byly studovány také procesy přenosu energie.

Crystal structure and technology procedure was optimized to obtained better parameters of PL and RL as well as homogeneity of structure. Structural and optical parameters were measured and evaluated; their influence on crystal characteristics was discussed. New improved material was proposed. P.W = Peak wavelength; P.I = Peak intensity; FWHM = Full With in Half Maximum; D.W = dominant wavelength; I.W = integral w.; I.I = integrated intensity; R.F = reflectivity; T.H = thickness were measured. Optimalizovali jsme krystalovou strukturu a technologii přípravy, abychom získali lepší parametry PL a RL a také homogenity struktury. Měřili a vyhodnotili jsme strukturní a optické parametry; byl diskutován jejich vliv na charakteristiky krystalu. Navrhli jsme nový vylepšený materiál. P.W = vlnová délka maxima; P.I = intenzita maxima; FWHM = šířka v polovině výška maxima; D.W = dominantní vlnová délka; I.W = integrální vlnová délka; I.I = integrovaná intenzita; R.F = reflektivita; T.H = tloušťka byly změřeny.
