Determination of 129I in environmental samples by neutron activation analysis

A new RNAA method with pre-activation separation has been developed for determination of 129I and the ratio 129I/127I in environmental samples. Iodine is separated from samples prior to irradiation by combustion in oxygen stream and trapping in LIOH/(NH4)SO3 solution. Post-irradiation radiochemical separation of iodine consists in CHCl3 extraction of elemental iodine and PdI2 precipitation. The procedure has been verified by analysis of a reference seaweed sample Fucus serratus, and its basic metrological parameters were determined. The methods has been applied to analysis of aerosol filter, moss, lichen, sediment and bovine thyroide samples collected in the vicinity of the Temelín nuclear power plant. Byla vypracována metoda pro stanovení 129I a poměru 129I/127I ve vzorcích životního prostředí metodou RNAA s předaktivační separací. Izotopy 129I a 127I se separují ze vzorků před ozářením spalováním v proudu kyslíku a zachycením v roztocích LiOH a (NH4)2SO3. Radiochemická separace po ozáření je založena na extrakci elementárního jodu a srážení PdI2. Vypracovaná metoda a její základní metrologické parametry byly ověřeny analýzou referenčního vzorku mořské řasy Fucus serratus. Metoda byla použita k analýze vzorků aerosolů, mechů, lišejníků, sedimentů a štítných žláz skotu odebraných v okolí jaderné elektrárny Temelín.

Comment for cascade source in sub-critical reactor with accelerator driven system

The work give universal solution in case coupled two sub-critical cores and their using as cascade source, where by multiplication in inner core get amplify of external neutron source. Práce dává obecné řešení případu svázaných dvou podkritických zón a jejich využití jako kaskádního zdroje, kde multiplikací ve vnitřní zóně dochází k zesílení externího neutronového zdroje.

Work is engaged in mathematical method of solution equations for burn-up and purging fuel from fission products for reactor with flowing fuel-cooling fluoride salts mixture. Formulation of equation for burn-up and purging was carry out in report(1). Práce se zabývá matematickým řešením rovnic vyhoření i čištění paliva od štěpných produktů pro reaktor s proudící palivo-chladivovou směsí fluoridových solí. Formulace rovnic čištění a bilancí byla provedena v práci(1).
