The Ostrava Museum Night celebrates its 10th anniversary in the First Republic style

2018 - Czech The Ostrava Museum Night will take place on Saturday, June 9th, for the tenth time. From five o'clock to midnight, Ostrava will revive a cultural festival that extends awareness of cultural life in the city. This year, 36 institutions will present their facilities, and entry is no longer the case. As part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Republic, the festival will revive the ride of veterans and velocipedists, as well as the cabaret and swing program. It will be launched by discharging the balloons in the tricolor color. From 17.30 they will be given free of charge in front of the New Town Hall in Ostrava. Ostravská muzejní noc se v sobotu 9. června uskuteční již po desáté. Od pěti hodin do půlnoci oživí Ostravu kulturní festival, který rozšiřuje povědomí o kulturním životě ve městě. V letošním roce představí své zázemí 36 institucí a vstup se nikde neplatí. V rámci oslav stého výročí republiky festival oživí jízdy veteránů a velocipedistů, ale i kabaretní a swingový program. Zahajovat se bude vypouštěním balonků v barvě trikolory. Už od 17.30 je budou před budovou Nové radnice v Ostravě rozdávat zdarma. 2018 - Czech The Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava (GVUO) launches four exhibition projects at once. After the exhibition Vlastislav Hofman / Tribute to Invention, he focuses on a wide range of styles, techniques and authors. Everyone will come to theirs. At a joint opening on Thursday, January 25, at 5 pm, the gallery will open exhibitions to introduce the Baroque painting and graphics, the Republican, abstract and contemporary art to the public. The exhibitions will be on display in the Art House of Ostrava until Sunday, March 25th. Galerie výtvarného umění v Ostravě (GVUO) zahajuje hned čtyři výstavní projekty najednou. Po výstavě Vlastislav Hofman / Pocta invenci se zaměřuje na pestrou škálu stylů, technik i autorů. Na své si přijdou všichni. Na společné vernisáži ve čtvrtek 25. ledna v 17 hodin galerie zpřístupní výstavy, které veřejnosti představí barokní malbu a grafiku, prvorepublikové, abstraktní i současné výtvarné umění. Výstavy budou v ostravském Domě umění k vidění do neděle 25. března. 2018 - Czech The exhibition of Vlastislav Hofman (1884-1964) / Tribute to the invention, which the famous stage designer and architect presented as a universally recognized personality with invention, ended in Ostrava. She saw over twelve thousand visitors. Part of the exposed exhibits will return to Austria and Canada this week. The rest of the borrowed works of art will be returned in the coming weeks. Výstava Vlastislava Hofmana (1884–1964) / Pocta invenci, která známého scénografa a architekta prezentovala jako všestranně uznávanou osobnost s invencí, v Ostravě skončila. Vidělo ji přes dvanáct tisíc návštěvníků. Část vystavených exponátů se už v tomto týdnu vrací do Rakouska a Kanady. Zbylá část zapůjčených uměleckých děl bude vrácena v následujících týdnech. Is this the question of Black Country? The myth and reality prepared by Renata Skrebska, curator of the Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava (GVUO). The Gallery of the Year will be launched on Tuesday, September 25, at 5 pm. The Ostrava House of Art will be on display until January 6th of next year. První republiku máme spojenou s elegancí, šarmem a noblesou v módě a designu. Bylo výtvarné umění a architektura v ostravském regionu jiné než v ostatních částech republiky? Tuto otázku pokládá výstava Černá země? Mýtus a realita, kterou připravila Renata Skřebská, kurátorka Galerie výtvarného umění v Ostravě (GVUO). Galerijní výstava roku bude zahájena v úterý 25. září v 17 hodin. V ostravském Domě umění bude k vidění až do 6. ledna příštího roku. 2018 - Czech The Ostrava Gallery has more than 2,300 paintings in its collections. Some of them belong to an art collection of foreign origin. It also includes 150 artworks of Russian, especially realistic and modern art from the end of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. More than 30 of them, mainly paintings and drawings as well as larger formats, will be presented at the exhibition Song of Soul / Russian Art from the collections of the Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava (GVUO), whose curator is the director of the institution. It will start on Tuesday 31 July at 5 pm and you will be able to see it in the Art House of Ostrava until 9 September. Ostravská galerie má ve svých sbírkách přes 2 300 maleb. Část z nich patří do umělecké sbírky se zahraničním původem. Její součástí je také 150 uměleckých děl ruského, především realistického a moderního umění z období konce 19. a první poloviny 20. století. Více než 30 z nich, převážně malby a kresby i větších formátů, bude představeno na výstavě Píseň duše / ruské umění ze sbírek Galerie výtvarného umění v Ostravě (GVUO), jejímž kurátorem je ředitel instituce. Zahájena bude v úterý 31. července v 17 hodin a v ostravském Domě umění si ji můžete prohlédnout až do 9. září. The first one, abstraction creation / art non figuratif 1932-1936, is a reprint of the 1973 album of the same name, supplemented by the text of Jiří Jůže, the curator of the exhibition of the same name. Second publication called Norbert Grund pinx. - Johann Balzer sc. presents Grund's paintings and Balzer's graphics, which can be seen at Norbert Grund fecit / Jan Balzer sculpsit. Both exhibitions can be seen in the Ostrava House of Art until March 25th. Dvě výtvarné publikace doprovázejí výstavy v Galerii výtvarného umění v Ostravě (GVUO). První s názvem abstraction creation / art non figuratif 1932–1936 je reprintem stejnojmenného alba z roku 1973, doplněná o text Jiřího Jůzy, kurátora stejnojmenné výstavy. Druhá publikace s názvem Norbert Grund pinx. – Johann Balzer sc. představuje Grundovy malby a Balzerovy grafiky, které jsou k vidění na výstavě Norbert Grund fecit / Jan Balzer sculpsit. The author's architectural designs, paintings, graphics, print mats, porcelain, furniture, crematorium model in Moravská Ostrava, film screenings and archival documents are exhibited. The exhibition has been reviewed by over 11,000 visitors. Už jen do neděle 7. ledna si mohou návštěvníci Galerie výtvarného umění v Ostravě (GVUO) prohlédnout tvorbu architekta a mezinárodně oceňovaného scénografa Vlastislava Hofmana (1884–1964) v ostravském Domě umění. Vystaveny jsou autorovy architektonické návrhy, malby, grafiky, tiskové matrice, porcelán, nábytek, model krematoria v Moravské Ostravě, filmová projekce i dokumentační materiály z archivů. Výstavu si dosud prohlédlo přes jedenáct tisíc návštěvníků.
