Water bloom (WB) is a global problem that is particularly closely linked with increased inputs of phosphorus to surface waters.. The subsequent accumulation of nutrients in the tank for the development not only of cyanobacteria in the water column, but also their survival in resting stages in the sediment. The quantity (amount) of inoculum (source) of cyanobacteria in the sediments is the primary factor, along with nutrient and climatic conditions, correlates with the resulting amount of algae in the water column during the summer season. Cyanobacterial resting stages in sediments require specific conditions for survival, which moreover genus from the genus (or species), cyanobacteria differ. Knowledge of the life cycle of cyanobacteria is therefore an essential prerequisite for starting a guide to environmentally friendly, with the current low cost of funds, limit the development of WB. Vodní květy sinic (VKS) jsou celosvětový problém, který je úzce spjat především se zvýšeným vnosem fosforu do povrchových vod. Následná akumulace živin v nádržích umožňuje rozvoj sinic nejenom ve vodním sloupci, ale především jejich přežívání v klidových stádiích v sedimentu. Kvantita (množství) inokula (zdroje) sinic v sedimentech je primární faktor, který současně s živinovými a klimatickými poměry, koreluje s výsledným množstvím sinic ve vodním sloupci během letní sezóny. Klidová stádia sinic v sedimentech vyžadují pro přežívání specifické podmínky, které se navíc rod od rodu (příp. druhu) sinice liší. Znalost životních cyklů sinic je tedy základním výchozím předpokladem a vodítkem jak šetrně ekologicky, se současným minimem vynaložených finančních prostředků, omezit rozvoj VKS.

A new fluorometer AOM (Algae Online Monitor) for the quantification of phytoplankton in raw water was tested on different localities. The AOM was serviceable in the variable field conditons. Because of low limit of detection and due the work in continuous mode with remote GSM data transfer to laboratory, the device is suitable for early warning system. Na různých lokalitách byl testován nově vyvinutý fluorometer AOM (Algae Online Monitor) stanovující obsah fytoplanktonu ve vodě. Fluorometer byl provozuschopný v různých podmínkách. Díky nízkému detekčnímu limitu a provozu v kontinuálním on-line modu s dálkovým přenosem dat do laboratoře může přístroj sloužit jako early warning system proti masovému rozvoji sinic.

Based on the results of this study was showed that the electrocoagulation process has some advantages in comparison with other methods of phosphorus removal. Such as simple equipment, simple handling, short time delay, reduced chemical dosing or relatively rapid sedimentation flakes. The study demonstrated that the real potential of this technology is applicable mainly in small villages, where are not installed or operating other technologies for phosphorus removal. Na základě výsledků této studie vyplynulo, že proces elektrokoagulace v porovnání s ostatními metodami odstraňování fosforu má některé výhody, jako je jednoduchost zařízení, jednoduchá manipulace, krátká doba zdržení, omezení dávkování chemikálií, poměrně rychlá sedimentace vloček. Studie prokázala reálný potenciál této technologie, která je použitelná především u malých obcí, kde nejsou instalované ani provozované jiné technologie odstranění fosforu.

V této studii jsme se zabývali interakcemi směsi látek- sinicové extrakty a antropogenní polutanty (polyaromatické uhlovodíky a polychlorované bifenyly).

If we compare the sediment capping by active barriers to protect the phosphorus release from sediments with other technologies of manipulation with methods of water discharge, it is clear, that by well-considered manipulations with water discharge, it is possible to reach the same (comparable) results with lower costs and with lower ecotoxicological and limnological risks. By the manipulation of water level, it is possible to reduce cyanobacterial bloom development as supplemental or supporting measure, but the effects may differ in different water bodies and thus it must be consulted always with specialists. Srovnáváme-li technologie překrývání sedimetů a tvorby aktivních barier proti uvolnění fosforu ze sedimentu s technologiemi manipulace s průtoky, je patrné, že dobře promyšlenými manipulacemi s průtoky nádrže lze podstatně levněji a ekotoxikologicky i limnologicky bezproblémověji dosáhnout při nejmenším stejných cílů. Manipulaci s vodní hladinou lze tedy využít k omezení masového rozvoje sinic jako doplňující, nebo podpůrné opatření, má ale, jak je v textu popsáno, různé efekty v různou dobu a proto musí být konkrétní opatření konzultováno vždy s odborníky.

The tropical species Lyngbya robusta occured the first time as a dominant water-bloom forming cyanobacterium in tropical lake Atitlan, Guatemala. In the abstract are presented the main reasons of its occurrence, development and ecological consequences. Tropický druh sinic Lyngbya robusta vytvořil silný vodní květ v tropickém jezeře Atitlan, Guatemala. Je to první případ nadprodukce tohoto druhu v jezerních ekosystémech. V článku jsou uvedeny hlavní příčiny jeho výskytu, sezónní změny a ekologický dopad.

In this methodology we describe a fast, easy and non-expensive method for evaluation of microbial diversity in various types of substrates: T-RFLP. We explain principles and describe in detail the workflow of DNA extraction, amplification of a particular piece of DNA in PCR, choice of restriction enzymes and the restriction digest, separation of fragments using the capillary sequencer as well as discuss the evaluation and interpretation of the results. V této metodice popisujeme rychlou, snadnou a nepříliš nákladnou metodu vyhodnocení mikrobiální diverzity v různých typech substrátů: T-RFLP. Popisujeme principy a detailně vysvětlujeme postup práce při extrakci DNA, amplifikaci určitého úseku DNA pomocí PCR, při výběru restrikčního enzymu a restrikčním štěpení, dělení fragmentů v kapilárním sekvenátoru a rovněž diskutujeme vyhodnocení a interpretaci výsledků.

Podařilo se shromáždit současné znalosti o kolonizaci těžbou narušených míst rozmanitými skupinami organismů a vyvodit doporučení pro obnovu těchto míst.

Physical methods of removal of the development of blooms may be one of the alternatives to chemical methods. Legislative pressure in CR, supported implementation of EU law to reduce inputs of chemical substances into the environment grows. The lake management is a proposed complex of measures to reduce eutrophication and the development of blooms and physical methods are becoming an integral part. Using physical methods can be expected even in industries where it is treated with raw water. Fyzikální metody omezování rozvoje vodního květu mohou být jednou z alternativ k metodách chemickým. Legislativní tlak ČR, podpořen implementací zákonů EU, na redukci vnosu chemický látek do prostředí roste. U managementu nádrží je navrhován komplex opatření vedoucích k snížení eutrofizace a rozvoje vodního květu a fyzikální metody se stávají jejich nedílnou součástí. S použitím fyzikálních metod je možno počítat i v průmyslových odvětvích, kde je nakládáno s vodou.
