Optimization of the outflow regime in Římov reservoir from the point of view of water supply
Mercado, Ma. Cristina Paule; Hejzlar, Josef; Jarošík, Jiří; Porcal, Petr
2023 - English
The best management strategy for the Římov reservoir: (a) discharge from a depth of 3–5 m during the stratified season, (b) without support for SHP and with high reservoir filling, (c) reducing the phosphorus loading of the reservoir as much as possible. The impacts of climate change on water quality are significant, as inflow DOC and P concentrations here increase with temperature and flow variability. The effects of climate change can be mitigated by targeted management of the reservoir, but the quality of water inflow will still deteriorate further. Keywords: water; dissolved organic matter; reservoir Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Social-ecological linkages in the practice of Czech development cooperation
Suchá, Lenka; Dušková, L.; Seidlová, Aneta; Schlossarek, M.; Harmáček, J.; Bubák, Š.; Harmáčková, Veronika Zuzana
2023 - Czech
The Western Province of Zambia is one of the priority regions for Czech development cooperation. However, until now there has been a lack of comprehensive socio-ecological research carried out in this region, which would enable the actors of the Czech development cooperation to better work with the complex socio-ecological context within their projects. The research synthesis report presents in one place a comprehensive summary of the methodological approaches used and the results of their application. In this respect, the research synthesis report presents a unique perspective on socio-ecological linkages in the Western Province of Zambia. The research synthesis report also contains a simplified project methodology so that it can be used by Czech development actors themselves for planning and implementing development projects, if applicable. The research synthesis report also includes a summary of the main implications of the Coop4Wellbeing research for development practice, as well as a set of recommendations for Czech development donors. \n Keywords: participatory research; social-ecological system; development cooperation; western province of zambia Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Doležal, P.; Hausvater, E.; Baštová, P.; Kocourek, F.; Stará, J.; Sedlák, P.; Sedláková, V.; Skoková Habuštová, Oxana; Nermuť, Jiří
2023 - Czech
The aim of the certified methodology is to provide updated principles of effective integrated Colorado potato beetle management for the agricultural practice resulting from new findings on biology and population genetics in the situation, when the range of effective insecticides has been reduced, pest resistance to insecticides has been increased and agro ecological conditions have been changed. Colorado potato beetle is a very serious insect pest of potatoes, highly mobile and able to quickly develop insecticide resistance. The methodology was drawn up based on the newest findings on the efficacy of existing insecticides registered against Colorado potato beetle, taking into account newly acquired knowledge in the field of pest resistance to active ingredients and a necessity of ever increasing multiple applications. Methodology for determining forgeries and copies of miniature paintings
Sondej, A.; Hradilová, J.; Hradil, David
2023 - Czech
The methodology describes the signs by which it is possible to distinguish between an original miniature portrait painting and other types of imitations, whether they were produced individually or in serial reproduction. For this classification, the methodology uses both routinely available tools (e.g. a magnifying glass or a stereomicroscope) as well as specialized imaging and analytical instruments, without the help of which accurate determination cannot be done. In all cases, these are non-invasive procedures that do not require any material removal from the painting. The analytical procedures used to determine the provenance of a work are in some cases completely new. The effect of meteorology and aerosol size distribution on light scattering properties at a rural background site in Central Europe
Suchánková, Lenka
2023 - English
The aim of this study is to characterize the light scattering properties of aerosols at the rural background site National Atmospheric\nObservatory Košetice (NAOK; 49°34’20.787”N, 15°4’48.155”E) in Central Europe, namely the coefficients of total light scattering (σsp) and backscattering (σbsp), the Ångström exponent (SAE), the backscattering ratio (b), and the asymmetry factor (g), with special attention to the influence of meteorology and aerosol size distribution on these properties. We measured σ𝑠𝑝 and σ𝑏𝑠𝑝 at three wavelengths (450, 550, and 700 nm) using the Integrating Nephelometer TSI 3563 (PM10 inlet). The measurements were performed from August 16, 2012 to December 31, 2019. Keywords: properties aerosols; backscattering; measurements Available in a digital repository NRGL
