Hydrobiological monitoring of Medard Lake in 2018

Presented report summarizes the results of hydrobiological monitoring of Medard Lake in 2018 and recommends further monitoring actions. The year 2018 was the first year after the lake was filled, when no more water from the Ohře River was filled and only small tributaries from the small river basin flowed into the lake. Thus, the ecosystem of the lake has reached a final state in terms of hydrological regime and nutrient load, characterized by very low water exchange, low trophic levels with low productivity of planktonic communities, development of submerged macrovegetation in coastal zones and specific seasonal changes in chemistry and biological parameters. Předkládaná zpráva sumarizuje dosažené výsledky za rok 2018 a navrhuje doporučení pro další sledování. Rok 2018 byl prvním rokem po naplnění jezera, kdy se již žádná voda z Ohře nenapouštěla a do jezera přitékaly pouze drobné přítoky z vlastního malého povodí. Ekosystém jezera se tedy dostal z hlediska hydrologického režimu a živinového zatížení do konečného stavu, pro který je typické velmi malá obměna vody, nízká úroveň úživnosti s nízkou produktivitou planktonních společenstev, rozvoj ponořené makrovegetace v příbřežních zónách a specifické sezónní změny chemismu i biologických parametrů. Survey of the catfish population in the Klíčava reservoir in 2018

Based on the capture of wels catfish using longlines, the aim of the study was: 1. To estimate the abundance of the catfish population, individuals over 70 cm TL (total length). 2. To compare the abundance and size of catfish, expressed as the catch per unit of effort, with the other reservoirs surveyed under the management of the Vltava River Authority state enterprise (Žlutice and Římov). 3. To determine the average length and weight of catfish. 4. To evaluate the diet of catfish according to the stomach content analyses. Cílem studie bylo na základě odlovu sumce velkého metodou návazcových šňůr: 1. Odhadnout početnost populace sumce velkého, jedinců větších než 70 cm TL (celková délka). 2. Srovnat početnost a velikost sumců, vyjádřenou jako úlovek na jednotku úsilí, s jinými zkoumanými nádržemi ve správě státního podniku Povodí Vltavy (Žlutice a Římov). 3. Zjistit průměrnou délku a hmotnost sumců. 4. Vyhodnotit potravu sumců dle obsahu žaludků. The focus of the study is to document the effect of chloride toxicity on aquatic organisms (macrophytes, aufwuchs, macrozoobenthos, fish and amphibians) in recipients around the D8 motorway, km 48.276 - 64.689, where the motorway passes through the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. The summary of the achieved results for the vegetation season 2018 is the content of the presented report. Předmětem studie je dokumentovat vliv toxicity chloridů na vodní organismy (makrofyta, nárosty, makrozoobentos, ryby a obojživelníci) v recipientech v okolí dálnice D8 km 48,276 – 64,689, kde dálnice prochází CHKO České středohoří.
