The need that pupils achieve functional mathematical literacy grows. It makes considerable demands on teachers' professional competences, including their ability to react on heterogeneity and to create conditions for developmnet of all pupils' educational prerequisites. Heterogeneity is not grasped as a problem but as something natural and in some aspects challenging. Požadavky na úroveň funkční matematické gramotnosti rostou. To klade velké nároky na profesionální kompetence učitelů. K nim patří také dovednost reagovat na heterogenitu a vytvářet podmínky pro rozvoj vzdělávacích předpokladů všech žáků. Heterogenita není chápána jako problém, ale jako jev přirozený a v určitých oblastech podnětný.

The paper indicated mathematical literacy as an important component of understanding the world. It introduced the publication Mathematics and grasping the surrounding world (Academia, 2009). Especially mentioned is part of the financial literacy. V příspěvku je ukázána matematická gramotnost jako důležitá složka porozumění světu. Je představena publikace Matematika a porozumění světu (Academia 2009). Zvláště je zmíněna část týkající se finanční gramotnosti.

Geometrical imagination as a part of mathematical literacy

The paper deals with geometrical imagination as ability to interpret geometrical content, evoke images and manipulate with them. It describes approaches to teaching of geometry at primary school (natural geometry, principles of didactical structure of geometry) and activities for development geometrical imagination of pupils. Článek pojednává o geometrické představivosti jako schopnosti interpretovat geometrický obsah, vybavovat si představy a manipulovat s nimi. Popisuje přístupy k výuce geometrie na základní škole (přirozená geometrie, principy didaktické struktury geometrie) a aktivity pro rozvíjení geometrické představivosti žáků.

Suitable statistic characteristic for variability of elements of set with some feature is coefficient of variation. Planar tessellation (the set of figures which cover the plane without gaps or overlaps) is presented as an example for application of this characteristic. Vhodnou statistickou charakteristikou pro určování variability prvků množiny určité vlastnosti je koeficient variace. Rovinná teselace (množina útvarů pokrývajících rovinu bez mezer a překrytí) je uvedená jako příklad pro aplikaci této charakteristiky.

Problem posing in frame of teacher training

In the centre of the considerations on teachers´education is searching for the ways how to enhance their professional competence. Therefore we focus on improvement of pedagogical content knowledge. Experience based on the work with both teacher students and in/service teachers show that especially beneficial is development of ability in problem posing. V centru úvah o vzdělávání učitelů je hledání cest jak zkvalitňovat jejich profesní kompetence. Zaměřujeme se proto na prohlubování didaktických znalostí obsahu. Zkušenosti z práce se studenty učitelství i učiteli působícími v praxi ukazují, že přínosné je rozvíjení dovednosti tvořit úlohy.

Representational envinonments for plane transformations

The paper includes some illustrations of representational environments suitable for teaching of plane transformations in lower secondary school, namely reflection, rotation, and translation. It deals with properties of transformations, composition of reflections, and in particular various forms of modelling: reflecting, pinking, tracing, printing, and patterning. Článek obsahuje několik ukázek reprezentačních prostředí vhodných pro výuku shodných zobrazení v rovině na druhém stupni ZŠ, a to osové a středové souměrnosti, otočení a posunutí. Zabývá se vlastnostmi zobrazení, skládání osových souměrností a především různým formám modelování: zrcadlení, obkreslování, otiskování a vzorování.

Problem posing as one of the ways developing teachers´professional competence

The need to acquire mathematical literacy grows. This puts great demands on teachers´professional competence. In this contribution, problem posing is outlined as one of the ways of empowering subject-didactical competence of primary school teachers, i.e. how to deepen the knowledge of subject and its didactical elaboration as well as application of this knowledge in school practice. This paper starts with examples of problems posed by concrete respondents (teacher-students and primary school teachers). Potřeba nabývat matematické vzdělání roste. To klade vysoké nároky na profesní kompetence učitelů. V tomto příspěvku je naznačeno tvoření úloh jako jedna z cest, jak zkvalitňovat oborově didaktické kompetence učitelů primární školy, to znamená, prohlubovat znalosti matematického obsahu a jeho didaktického zpracování a uplatňování těchto znalostí ve školní praxi. Východiskem jsou úlohy vytvořené konkrétními respondenty (studenty učitelství, příp. učiteli).
