The use of interdisciplinary relationships in teaching physics at elementary school

The author of this diploma thesis continues in her bachelor thesis. The author still writes about intersubject relations of Physics and Biology at elementary school. The thesis includes some suggestions for intersubject learning. There are also a few original intersubject projects, worksheets for pupils and there are also some detailed didactic analyses and methodical comments for teachers. The thesis also includes a didactic activity called "Biophysical relay" which was evaluated as the best piece of work in a competition Student innovation of practice (abbreviated SIP) at Faculty of Education at University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice in 2023. Autorka v práci navazuje na bakalářskou práci a nadále se věnuje mezipředmětovému vztahu fyziky a přírodopisu na základní škole. Práce obsahuje návrhy na mezipředmětovou výuku, dále se v práci nachází několik originálních mezipředmětových projektů, s vytvořenými pracovními listy pro žáky a podrobnými didaktickými analýzami a metodickými komentáři pro vyučujícího. Práce také obsahuje didaktickou aktivitu s názvem "Biofyzikální štafeta", která byla vyhodnocena jako nejlepší práce v soutěži Studentská inovace praxe, zkráceně SIP, na Pedagogické fakultě Jihočeské univerzity v Českých Budějovicích v roce 2023.

Assistant teachers perspectives on the issues of bullying of children with special education needs

This dissertation focuses on the problematics of bullying of children with special educational needs from the point of view of the teacher's assistant. This dissertation is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part aims to define the expression of bullying, its forms and its participants. Furthermore it defines the expression of a child with special educational needs, it describes the use of support measures and the concept of inclusive education. The theoretical part also introduces contemporary measures for prevention and intervention of bullying at mainstream elementary schools. Additionally it focuses and discusses the job of the teacher's assistant and the possibilities of his or hers collaboration with the teacher and the classroom. The aim of the practical part is to determine the personal experiences of teacher's assistants with bullying of children with special educational needs and their possible role regarding prevention and intervention of bullying. Qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews with teacher's assistants at mainstream elementary schools was used as a data collection. Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou šikany žáků se speciálně vzdělávacími potřebami pohledem asistenta pedagoga. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se zabývá definováním pojmu šikana, jejích forem a účastníků šikany. Mimo jiné také vysvětluje pojem "žák se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami", charakterizuje podpůrná opatření a proces inkluzivního vzdělávání. Teoretická část dále pojednává o současných opatřeních k prevenci a řešení šikany na základních školách hlavního vzdělávacího proudu. Dále se věnuje práci asistenta pedagoga a jeho možnostem ve spolupráci s učitelem a práci se třídou. Praktická část je zaměřena na osobní zkušenosti asistentů pedagoga se šikanou žáků se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami a na jejich možnou roli při prevenci a řešení šikany. Pro sběr dat byl využit kvalitativní výzkum v podobě polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s asistenty pedagoga základních škol hlavního vzdělávacího proudu.

Support for the adaptation of pupils with ASD in school classroom

The diploma thesis deals with supporting the adaptation of pupils with autism spectrum disorder in the school classroom. The aim of the thesis is to describe how the support of adaptation in the school environment and the inclusion of pupils with ASD in the school classroom. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the complex definition of autism spectrum disorders with manifestations and specifics that appear in pupils with ASD. Then it describes the possibilities of inclusive education with recommended approaches to these pupils and counselling services including support measures used in education. The theoretical part also describes the possibilities of supporting the adaptation and inclusion of pupils with ASD in the school classroom. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the issue of adaptation of pupils with ASD through qualitative research. The aim of the research investigation is to find out how teaching staff support the adaptation of pupils with ASD to the school environment and its inclusion in the school classroom. In addition, what specifics in the adaptation of pupils with ASD are perceived and taken into account by pedagogical staff. Last but not least, the difficulties and risks encountered in the adaptation and education of pupils with ASD are identified. The research is carried out by means of semi-structured interviews and observations. The thesis presents validated and recommended strategies and methods of work for pupils with ASD in adapting to the school environment and for their easier integration in the classroom collective. Among the most important are: visiting the school before starting school, peer-to-peer information transfer, structured learning, motivation and targeted work with the class collective. The cooperation of class teachers and teaching assistants is indispensable here. The special education centres have a major role in this issue, which are present in the entire process of adaptation and education of pupils with ASD. Diplomová práce se zabývá podporou adaptace žáků s poruchou autistického spektra ve školní třídě. Cílem diplomové práce je popsat, jak probíhá podpora adaptace ve školním prostředí a začlenění žáků s PAS ve školní třídě. Teoretická část diplomové práce je zaměřena na komplexní vymezení poruch autistického spektra s projevy a specifiky, které se objevují u žáků s PAS. Dále pak popisuje možnosti inkluzivního vzdělávání s doporučenými přístupy k těmto žákům a poradenské služby včetně podpůrných opatření využitelných při edukaci. V teoretické části jsou také popsány možnosti podpory adaptace a začlenění žáků s PAS ve školní třídě. Praktická část diplomové práce je zaměřená na problematiku adaptace žáků s PAS pomocí kvalitativního výzkumu. Cílem výzkumného šetření je zjistit, jak pedagogičtí pracovníci podporují adaptaci žáků s PAS na školní prostředí a jeho začlenění ve školní třídě. Dále je zjišťováno, jaká specifika v adaptaci žáků s PAS pedagogové vnímají a zohledňují. V neposlední řádě jsou zjišťovány obtíže a rizika objevující se při adaptaci a vzdělávání žáků s PAS. Výzkumné šetření je realizováno pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů a pozorování. Práce přináší ověřené a doporučené strategie a metody práce u žáků s PAS při adaptaci na školní prostředí a pro jeho snazší začlenění v třídním kolektivu. Mezi nejdůležitější patří: návštěva školy před zahájením školní docházky, vzájemné předávání informací, strukturované učení, motivace a cílená práce s třídním kolektivem. Nepostradatelná je zde spolupráce třídních učitelů a asistentů pedagoga. Velkou roli v této problematice mají speciálně pedagogická centra, která jsou přítomná v celém procesu adaptace a edukace žáků s PAS.

Converting PET bottles into printing filament

This thesis deals with the development of a machine for converting PET bottles into printing filament. The theoretical aspect of the thesis is mainly focused on the history of 3D printing, comparison of its methods and sustainability. An important part of the thesis is also a chapter on the motivation to create the machine and a research of available solutions. Based on the choice of suitable machine design, the machine was built and tested. Instructions for its construction were created and uploaded to the Printables portal. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá tvorbou stroje na přeměnu PET lahve na tiskový filament. Práce se v teoretické rovině věnuje především historii 3D tisku, srovnání jeho metod a samotné udržitelnosti. Důležitou součástí práce je i kapitola o motivaci k vytvoření stroje a rešerši dostupných řešení. Na základě zvolení vhodné konstrukce stroje byl tento vytvořen a otestován. Byl vytvořen návod na jeho sestavení a vložen na portál Printables.

Motor performance and somatic characteristics of women

Karolína Kališová: Motor performance and somatic characteristics of women (age category 25,00 - 34,99). The aim of the thesis is to compare and evaluate the measured results of 36 women (volunteer firefighters) aged 25,00 - 34,99 years. Measurements were conducted from October 2023 to January 2024, focusing on body characteristics such as height, weight, circumferential dimensions (right arm, abdomen, hips, and right thigh), skinfold thickness (subscapular, suprailiac, above the biceps, above the triceps, on the mid-right thigh), and tests of spine mobility (Stibor's sign, Otto's sign, Schober's sign, Čepoj's sign, Thomayer's sign, and lateral flexion test). Body Mass Index (BMI) was calculated for each subject based on height and weight, along with the sum of skinfolds. The research also included the evaluation of the foot printogram and a questionnaire on life satisfaction in the areas of health, work and employment, leisure time, own person, friends and relatives with additional supplementary questions. Interesting results of the study include, for example, a comparison of our sample with 50-year-old volunteer firefighters (Douchová, 2019), where significantly higher differences were observed in older women in terms of foot arch decline (tested by Chippaux and Šmiřák, average in the flat foot category), and spine mobility (Stibor's sign, Otto's sign, Schober's sign, Čepoj's sign, Thomayer's sign) was statistically significantly less in older women except for the cervical spine (tested by Čepoj's sign). Karolína Kališová: Motorická výkonnost a somatické znaky žen (věková kategorie 25,00 - 34,99 r.). Cílem diplomové práce je porovnání a vyhodnocení naměřených výsledků u 36 žen (dobrovolných hasiček) ve věku 25,00 - 34,99 roku. Od října 2023 do ledna 2024 probíhalo měření, zjišťovány byly tělesné charakteristiky jako je tělesná výška, tělesná hmotnost, obvodové rozměry (pravé paže, břicha, boků a pravého stehna), tloušťky kožních řas (subskapulární, suprailiakální, nad bicepsem, nad tricepsem, na pravém stehně střední) a byly provedeny zkoušky pohyblivosti páteře (Stiborův příznak, Ottův příznak, Schoberův příznak, Čepojův příznak, Thomayerův příznak a zkouška lateroflexe). Z tělesné výšky a hmotnosti byla následně vypočítána hodnota Body Mass Indexu (BMI) u každé probandky a součet kožních řas. Součástí výzkumné části bylo také vyhodnocení plantogramu a dotazníku životní spokojenosti okruhy zdraví, práce a zaměstnání, volný čas, vlastní osoba, přátelé a příbuzní s dalšími doplňujícími otázkami. K zajímavým výsledkům práce patří například porovnání výsledků našeho souboru oproti 50letým dobrovolným hasičkám (Douchová, 2019), u starších žen byl zaznamenán vysoce významný rozdíl ve smyslu poklesu nožní klenby (testováno Chippauxe a Šmiřáka, průměr v kategorii plochá noha), páteř (Stiborův příznak, Ottův příznak, Schoberův příznak, Čepojův příznak, Thomayerův příznak) byla u starších žen statisticky významně méně pohyblivá kromě krční páteře (testováno Čepojovým příznakem).

The diploma thesis deals with the comparative analysis of two popular fantasy series: J. K. Rowling´s Harry Potter and J. Townsend´s Nevermoor. Within the theoretical part, the diploma thesis focuses on the main characteristics of fairy tales, Gothic literature, and fantasy. Motifs that connect the analysed series with the named literary genres are highlighted. Separate chapters are also dedicated to the authors of these stories. The practical part contains the comparative analysis of the following motifs: prophecy, uniqueness of the main character; space of the other world; friendship, help and obstacles; enemy; death; school and exams; family and love in selected works. The final chapter focuses directly on the main characters of the analysed series, their common and different features, and on the adaptation of child heroes in the other world. Diplomová práce se zabývá srovnávací analýzou dvou populárních fantastických sérií: Harry Potter J. K. Rowlingové a Nevermoor J. Townsendové. V rámci teoretické části se práce soustředí na charakteristiku pohádek, gotické literatury a fantasy. Jsou vyzdviženy motivy, které spojují analyzované série se jmenovanými literárními žánry. Samostatné kapitoly jsou věnovány také autorkám těchto příběhů. Praktická část obsahuje srovnávací analýzu následujících motivů: věštba, výlučnost hlavního hrdiny; prostor jiného světa; přátelství, pomoc a překážky; nepřítel; smrt; škola a zkoušky; rodina a láska ve vybraných dílech. Závěrečná kapitola se zaměřuje výhradně na hlavní postavy analyzovaných sérií, jejich společné a rozdílné rysy a na adaptaci dětských hrdinů v jiném světě.

Funkční a patologické změny žaludku hostitelů reinfikovaných různými druhy a genotypy žaludečních kryptosporidií

Representatives of the genus Cryptosporidium are intracellular parasites from the phylum Apicomplexa that parasitise the gastrointestinal tract of vertebrates. Within the genus, the species are divided into two groups depending on the site of infection: intestinal and gastric cryptosporidia. Infection with intestinal species is associated with watery diarrhoea, while infection with gastric species is usually asymptomatic. However, studies have indicated histopathological changes in gastric tissue during infection with these species. This work focuses on the influence of infection and reinfection with Cryptosporidium proliferans and Cryptosporidium muris CAT21 on gastric pH, morphological and pathological changes of the gastric mucosa in experimental mastomys and the mouse strains BALB/c and C57Bl6. In mice infected with C. muris CAT21, an increase in stomach pH was observed only after the primary infection; during reinfection, no increase in pH was observed on any of the days observed. In both groups, an increase in mucosal thickness was observed during infection, but was not as pronounced in BALB/c mice during reinfection as during primary infection. In C57Bl6 mice, reinfection resulted in a slight thickening, but no significant peak was observed and mucosal thickness remained similar. Inflammatory infiltrates were present in the tissue of both BALB/c and C57Bl6 mice during both infection and reinfection. Reinfection with C. proliferans led to an increase in gastric pH in both BALB/c and C57Bl6 mice. Although morphological changes were observed after reinfection, they were less pronounced. The results indicate that reinfection can influence the immune response and gastric morphology, but does not cause significant changes in pH. In addition, the influence of acidic water administration on the course of C. proliferans infection was investigated. No significant differences in the course of infection and pathological changes were observed between groups of mastomys supplied with acidic and tap water and infected with C. proliferans. Zástupci rodu Cryptosporidium jsou intracelulární paraziti z kmene Apicomplexa, parazitující v gastrointestinálním traktu obratlovců. V rámci rodu rozdělujeme druhy do dvou skupin dle místa infekce, na střevní a žaludeční kryptosporidie. Infekce střevními druhy je spojována s vodnatým průjmem, zatímco infekce žaludečními druhy probíhá asymptomaticky. Dosud provedené studie však poukazují na histopatologické změny žaludeční tkáně během infekce těmito druhy. Tato práce se zaměřuje na vliv infekce a reinfekce Cryptosporidium proliferans a Cryptosporidium muris CAT21 na pH žaludečního obsahu a morfologické a patologické změny žaludeční sliznice u experimentálních mastomyší a myší kmenů BALB/c a C57Bl6. U myší BALB/c a C57Bl6 infikovaných C. muris CAT21 došlo ke zvýšení pH žaludku pouze po primární infekci, při reinfekci nebylo pozorováno zvýšení pH v žádném ze sledovaných dnů v průběhu experimentu. U obou skupin bylo při infekci zaznamenáno zvýšení sliznice, které následně u myší BALB/c při reinfekci nebylo tak markantní jako v případě primární infekce. U C57Bl6 myší došlo při reinfekci k mírnému zesílení sliznice, nicméně nebyl pozorován žádný významný vrchol a výška sliznice se udržovala na podobných hodnotách. Zánětlivé infiltráty se u BALB/c i C57Bl6 myší v tkáni objevily při infekci i reinfekci. Reinfekce C. proliferans vedla ke zvýšení pH žaludečního obsahu u BALB/c i C57Bl6 myší. Po reinfekci byly sice zaznamenány morfologické změny, to však v menším rozsahu. Výsledky naznačují, že reinfekce může ovlivnit imunitní odpověď a morfologii žaludku i různě výrazné změny v pH. Dále byl zkoumán vliv napájení okyselenou vodou na průběh infekce C. proliferans. Nebyly zjištěny významné rozdíly v průběhu infekce a v patologických změnách mezi skupinami mastomyší napájených okyselenou a kohoutkovou vodou a infikovanými C. proliferans.

The diploma thesis deals with the comparative analysis of selected works by E. A. Poe and Chris Priestley. The thesis focuses primarily on the theme of the closed space and its effect on the psychological states of the characters. The first part of the thesis deals with the basic features of the development of Anglo-American Gothic literature and the characteristics of children's fantasy literature. It also introduces the lives of Poe and Priestley and the main themes in their works. The analysis compares the function of the closed space in the works of both authors. Attention is paid to the connection of this type of space and the oppressive states of the soul. The interpretation focuses on particular examples of the inner and outer space and on the description of the horror atmosphere. Náplní diplomové práce je srovnávací analýza vybraných děl E. A. Poea a Chrise Priestleyho. Práce se zaměřuje především na téma uzavřeného prostoru a jeho působení na psychické stavy postav. První část práce se zabývá vývojem angloamerické gotické literatury a charakteristikou dětské fantastické literatury. Dále představuje život vybraných spisovatelů a hlavní témata v jejich tvorbě. Vlastní analýza obsahuje porovnání funkce uzavřeného prostoru v dílech obou zkoumaných autorů. Pozornost je věnována především propojení tohoto prostoru s tísnivými stavy duše. Interpretace se zaměřuje na konkrétní příklady vnitřního i vnějšího prostoru a na popis hororové atmosféry.

Pupils' relationship to nature at the primary school level

The thesis focuses on finding out children's relationship with nature in primary school. The theoretical part describes the basic key concepts, the importance of nature for children's development, the causes and consequences of alienating children from nature and the influence of family and school background. Furthermore, the work focuses on outdoor teaching and its forms as well as the methods a teacher can use in teaching. This relationship is ascertained on the basis of a questionnaire created by psychologist and Dr. Jan Krajhanzl with a collective of authors. The practical part includes records from the questionnaire survey, which targeted fourth and fifth graders. Questions in the questionnaire are focused on pupils' experiences of nature, e.g. "What do you imagine when you say nature?" "Have you ever plucked an apple from a tree?" etc. Finally, the author compares the results of this study with previous surveys. Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na zjištění vztahu dětí k přírodě na prvním stupni základních škol. V teoretické části jsou popsány základní klíčové pojmy, význam přírody pro rozvoj dětí, příčiny i důsledky odcizování dětí přírodě a jaký vliv má rodinné či školní zázemí. Dále se práce soustředí na venkovní vyučování a jeho formy i metody, které může učitel při výuce použít. Tento vztah je zjišťován na základě dotazníku, který vytvořil psycholog a doktor Jan Krajhanzl s kolektivem autorů. Praktická část zahrnuje záznamy z dotazníkového šetření, jež je zaměřeno na žáky čtvrtých a pátých tříd. Otázky v dotazníku jsou soustředěny na zkušenosti žáků s přírodou, např. "Co si představíš, když se řekne příroda?", "Utrhnul/a jsi si někdy jablko ze stromu?", apod. Nakonec autorka porovnává výsledky této studie s předchozími průzkumy.

Innovation of teaching photosynthesis using ICT technologies

The thesis deals with the problem of teaching the complex topic of photosynthesis and its handover to pupils of the ninth grade of primary schools. The literary part of the thesis deals in detail with the process of photosynthesis itself together with its key aspects and at the same time presents the possibilities of using digital technologies in teaching. The practical part of the thesis tests a newly designed digital platform for teaching photosynthesis in selected primary schools. The subject of the research was the analysis of pupil's general knowledge on the topic of photosynthesis with a partial focus on photosynthesis of aquatic plants. The way in which digital technologies can contribute to a better understanding of complex topics such as photosynthesis was investigated. For example, is this form of learning engaging for pupils, how do they evaluate it, or does it help pupils overcome common misconceptions? The research subject was also the evaluation of the textbook by teachers themselves. As part of the research, a questionnaire survey was conducted among pupils, where they answered a set of questions without prior teaching and then after teaching with the digital textbook. The results obtained suggest that the digital textbook can improve the pupil's knowledge and facilitate their understanding of the whole process of photosynthesis. Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou výuky komplexního tématu fotosyntézy a jeho předáním žákům devátých tříd základní škol. Literární část práce se podrobně zabývá samotným procesem fotosyntézy společně s jeho klíčovými aspekty a současně předkládá možnosti využití digitálních technologií ve výuce. V praktické části diplomové práce se testuje nově navržená digitální platforma pro výuku fotosyntézy na vybraných základních školách. Předmětem výzkumu byla analýza obecných znalostí žáků z tématu fotosyntézy s částečným zaměřením na fotosyntézu vodních rostlin. Sledován byl způsob, jakým mohou digitální technologie přispět k lepšímu porozumění složitých témat jako je fotosyntéza. Jestli je například tato forma výuky pro žáky poutavá, jakým způsobem ji hodnotí, či jestli pomáhá žákům překonat časté mylné domněnky? Předmětem výzkumu bylo i hodnocení učebnice samotnými vyučujícími. V rámci výzkumu bylo provedeno dotazníkové šetření mezi žáky, kde odpovídali na sadu otázek bez předchozí výuky a posléze po výuce s digitální učebnicí. Získané výsledky naznačují, že digitální učebnice může zlepšit znalosti žáků a usnadnit jim porozumění celého procesu fotosyntézy.
