Comparative study of attitudes toward swimming education system between Physical Education Students from Stellenbosch (RSA) and Olomouc (CZ) Universities

2008 - English This study was focused on future physical educators, concretely on their attitudes towards swimming education at primary schools, current swimming situation in their country, etc. In this research Czech students (University Palacky) were compared with South African students (Stellenbosch University). There were 59 Czech students and 60 students from the RSA from the 1st and the 3rd grade of their study. The questionnaire consisted of 20 multiple-choice questions. The questionnaire had to be applied in two languages (Czech and English). In the Results I. the data from the questionnaire in three levels (country, gender, grades of study) were compared. The Kruskal-Wallis test was used for data processing. The students{\crq} opinions were not so different in many questions, but the significant differences were in questions about first aid and chosen first swimming style. In the Results II. correlation coefficients were calculated. The mutual relations among questions from the questionnaire were compared. Some dependencies between several questions were found. Tato studie byla zaměřena na budoucí učitele tělesné výchovy, konkrétně na jejich postoj k plaveckému výcviku na základních školách, současná situace plavání v jejich zemi, atd. V této studii Čeští studenti (University Palackého) byly porovnáni se studenty z Jihoafrické Republiky (Stellenbosch University). Studie se zúčastnilo 59 studentů (CZ) a 60 studentů (RSA) z prvních a třetích ročníků studia. Dotazník obsahoval 20 otázek s možnostmi odpovědí. Dotazník byl vyhotoven dvoujazyčně (Česky a Anglicky). Ve Výsledcích I. byly porovnány získaná data z dotazníku ve třech rovinách (země, pohlaví, ročník studia) Kruskal-Wallis test byl použit na jejich zpracování. V plno otázkách nebyly názory studentů tolik rozdílné, ale nejvýznamnější rozdíly byly v otázce o první pomoci a výběr prvního plaveckého stylu. Ve Výsledcích II. byl počítán korelační koeficient. Byly porovnány vzájemné vztahy mezi jednotlivými otázkami z dotazníku. Mezi některými otázkami byly nalezeny závislosti. Furthermore the thesis insists on the characteristic of schools attached to hospitals, on integration of children with hard-hit handicapped and specific institution and education of selected groups with cystic fibrosis, epilepsy and children with tracheostomy and to false lung ventilation handicap Diplomová práce uvádí do problematiky v oblasti zdravotní politiky, organizace nemocnic a specifikuje Fakultní nemocnici v Motole. Podrobněji se pak zabývá pobytem dětského pacienta v nemocnici a popisuje současné trendy ve vývoji péče o pacienta, zvláště dětského v nemocnici a po propuštění z nemocnice. Diplomová práce v další části klade důraz na charakteristiku školy při nemocnici, na integraci dítěte s těžkým zdravotním postižením a na specifiku výchovy a vzdělávání vybraných skupin dětí s těžkým zdravotním postižením jako je cystická fibróza, epilepsie a dítě s tracheostomií nebo na umělé plicní ventilaci. V práci nalezneme empirickou sondu dvě případové studie, které dokumentují stav integrace dětí s tracheostomií a na umělé plicní ventilaci. Although the main field of this study is the way how Morávek creates his extraordinary films, the thesis starts with short introduction of his stage production, because all films have a lot of in common with his theatre performances. The Usage of Drama Activities in the Lessons of English

2008 - English This thesis focuses on using drama activities in the lessons of English language at basic school ( in the sixth and the eighth class ). The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness of drama activities used in English lessons in which children are motivated and at the same time they practise English language. The theoretical part deals with motivation in the lessons and provides the explanation of English words ``drama and drama activities``. It points out how drama activities can be used when learning grammar and vocabulary and developing listening and speaking. One chapter deals with classroom management like spatial organisation, the arrangement of furniture, temperature, light and decoration but also with the classroom dynamics. The practical part provides descriptions of three lessons with drama activities that were taught by the author of this thesis. The detailed lesson plans are included in the attachment. These drama activities are based on the fairy-tale in the sixth grade and on the role-play in the eighth grade. They were chosen in order to practise vocabulary and grammar which are included in the pupils´ textbooks. The pupils evaluated the activities in the form of questionnaire. Tato závěrečná práce je zaměřena na využití dramatických aktivit v hodinách angličtiny v šestém a osmém ročníku základní školy. Teoretická část se zabývá především motivací žáků ve výuce cizích jazyků a vysvětlením pojmů {\clqq}drama a dramatické aktivity.`` Dále se zde zdůrazňuje důležitost propojení dramatických aktivit, jako jsou například hry a rozhovory ve dvojicích či skupinách, s výukou gramatiky, poslechu, mluvení a slovní zásoby a jejich vliv na žáky. Praktická část se zaměřuje na aplikaci dramatických aktivit v hodinách angličtiny na základě učebnic dle jednotlivých ročníků. Tyto aktivity jsou založeny na pohádce a na tzv. role-play a vychází z gramatiky a slovní zásoby aktuálně probírané lekce v učebnici. Velký důraz se zde klade na rozvíjení poslechu a schopnosti komunikovat. V obou ročnících se jedná o opakovací hodinu. V šestém ročníku je tato hodina založena na pohádce; v osmém potom na reálné situaci ze života. V těchto hodinách si žáci především upevňují své poznatky, které získali z předchozích lekcí angličtiny. Během dramatických aktivit se poté zjišťuje, jak si žáci osvojili nové schopnosti a dovednosti. Jedním z cílů této práce je seznámit žáky s dramatickými aktivitami v hodinách angličtiny a ukázat jim zábavnou formu výuku cizího jazyka a také následné zjištění jejich dovedností. It places her work in to a broader context of SF literature, black and feminist studies. The main part of this thesis is devoted to the detailed analysis of her 11 novels from the perspective of their race and gender representation. The aim of this thesis is to point out at the unifying motives of her work and to define the pattern to which all her main female protagonists fit.
