2020 - anglický Tato práce se zabývá problematikou "Troubles" neboli občanské války v Severním Irsku (1968-1998) a její interpretací v románech Bernarda MacLavertyho a Briana Moora. Analýza se zaměřuje na roli jedince a na to, jak může být jedinec ovlivněn souhrnem událostí, za které není zodpovědný, ale musí se s nimi nějakým způsobem vyrovnat. Důraz je kladen na absurdity, kterou sektářské násilí vytváří a na to, jak ještě více rozděluje již tak rozdělený ostrov. This thesis deals with the Troubles, i.e., the Civil War in Northern Ireland (1968-1998) and its representation in the novels of Bernard MacLaverty and Brian Moore. The analysis focuses on the role of the individual and how a single person could be influenced by the chain of events one is not responsible for, but has to somehow deal with them. The emphasis is put on the absurdity that sectarian violence creates and how it tears apart the already divided island. Officially Multicultural: How Canadian Society Started Changing Under Pierre Elliott Trudeau

2009 - anglický Diplomová práce se zabývá změnami kanadské společnosti během vlády premiéra Pierra Elliotta Trudeaua. V 60. letech, kdy se dostal k moci, Kanada zažívala období ekonomického rozkvětu. Práce se také věnuje problematice multikulturality. Roku 1971 Trudeau prohlásil multikulturalituralitu za officiální národní politickou strategii, která byla následně zakotvena v kanadské ústavě (Kanada je jediná země na světě, která má multikulturalitu zakotvenou v ústavě). Trudeau chtěl vyhlášením této strategie především vyřešit problémy s quebeckým nacionalismem, dá se ale říci, že vyhlášením multikulturality výstižně pojmenoval i situaci tehdejší Kanady, která vždy zažívala příliv imigrantů z různých částí světa. Dalším úspěchem Trudeaua byla patriace kanadské ústavy roku 1982, kdy byla ústava převezena z Londýna do Ottawy. Do té doby totiž mohl kanadskou ústavu upravovat pouze britský parlament. Tímto krokem Kanada dosáhla své úplné nezávislosti na Velké Británii. The diploma thesis concerns with dramatical changes of Canadian society during Pierre Elliott Trudeau was Prime Minister of Canada. In 1960{\crq}s, when he came to power Canada enjoyed economic prosperity. The thesis deals with the policy of multiculturalism as it was proclaimed official policy in 1971 by Trudeau and Canada is the only country in the world that has the multicultural policy ``embedded`` in its Constitution. Trudeau wanted to solve problems with Quebec nationalism by coming up with official multiculturalism, but we can say that he acutely described the situation in Canada that was always dependent on immigration. Trudeau reached his most important goal in 1982 when Canadian Constitution was patriated (moved from London to Ottawa). By that time, Canadian Constitution could be modificated by the British parliament, only. By patriation of its Constitution Canada reached full independence. Independent Heroines and Their Feministic Attitudes in New York City as Depicted in the Fiction by Edith Wharton and Candace Bushnell.

2009 - anglický Na základě klasických románů Edith Whartonové, bestselleru současné autorky Candace Bushnellové a teoretické literatury o feminismu bylo provedeno bádání v oblasti vývoje feminismu ve Spojených státech amerických a jeho projevů v beletrii. Základem pro tuto práci byl vývoj feminismu a jeho dopad na moderní společnost. V práci dále následuje pohled na postoje různých žen v dnešním New Yorku a různé prostředky, které v závislosti na jejich životních postojích používají v boji proti stále silné šovinistické patriarchální tradici. Práce se dále zabývá společenským postavením žen v letech 1890 až 1920, stejně tak, jako v moderní době. Za úvodní kapitolou, která se zabývá dějinami feminismu následuje srovnávací studie beletrizovaných ženských postav v New Yorku v době minulé {--} skrze dílo Edith Whartonové a současné {--} v díle Candace Bushnellové. Závěr této práce je věnován otázce nakolik tyto autorky skutečně zobrazují měnící se role žen a jejich postoje, obzvláště vůči mužům a manželství. Based on Wharton{\crq}s classic novels and Bushnell{\crq}s contemporary bestseller as well as on theoretical literature on feminism, research was conducted on the development of feminism in the United States and its expression through fiction. The evolution and impact of feminism on modern society created a ground for this thesis. A presentation of the status of various women in modern New York and the different means they possess and use in their fight against the still strong chauvinistic tradition of paternalism follows. The thesis then deals with the social status these women had in America between 1890s and 1920s, as well as with the status they have had in modern times. An introductory chapter dealing with history of feminism is followed by a comparative study of the fictionalized New York female characters in the past times {--} as depicted by Edith Wharton, and the present times as shown by Candace Bushnell. The thesis concludes by showing how close these authors realistically depict the changing roles and attitudes of women, especially towards men and marriage. 2009 - anglický Tématem práce je tvorba kurzu anglického jazyka pro specifické potřeby, který navštěvují studenti prvního ročníku neučitelského oboru Informační technologie na Pedagogické Fakultě Jihočeské Univerzity v Českých Budějovicích. Po prostudování dostupné vědecké literatury je vytvořen dotazník pro zjištění potřeb těchto studentů, jsou dotazování možní budoucí zaměstnavatelé a současní učitelé odborných předmětů na katedře informačních technologií a po analýze všech informací je vytvořen dvousemestrální sylabus pro tento kurz, kde každá hodina obsahuje název, téma, dovednosti a jazykové nástroje. Následuje popis dvou ukázkových hodin včetně metodického příručky krok za krokem a přílohy s materiálem pro studenty. The subject of this diploma thesis is to design an ESP course for a group of bachelor Information Technology students in their first year of study at University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, Pedagogical Faculty. After researching professional literature, creating and processing a needs analysis questionnaire and making interviews with future employers and subject teachers, a synthesis of the needs analysis is carried out and a two-semestral course is designed. Every week{\crq}s material contains a topic and a list of skills, subskills and activities. In the next part, two lessons are presented with step-by-step methodical instructions for the teacher and a handout material for the students. 2020 - anglický Tato diplomová práce se zabývá tématem externích faktorů ovlivňujících výuku anglického jazyka. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se zabývá definicemi jednotlivých externích faktorů, se kterými se můžeme při výuce setkat. Dále zde nalezneme důsledky, které tyto externí faktory mohou mít, a také to, jak s nimi pracovat. Na základě teoretické části studentka vykoná polostrukturované rozhovory s pedagogy anglického jazyka. Budou se týkat externích faktorů, které je ovlivnily během jejich studia a také faktorů, které působí na jejich žáky. This thesis deals with external factors influencing learning of English. The thesis is divided into two parts, a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part gives definition of each factor which can occur during English learning. It deals with its consequences and offers ways of managing them. The practical part constists of semi-structured interviews with English teachers. Attention is focused on factors which influenced them during their English studies and on external factors which have impact on their pupils. 2019 - anglický The main task of this thesis is to find the ICT activator of a carotenoid spheroidenone in the pigment-protein complex LH1 of Rhodobacter sphaeroides. The ICT state is characterized by a red-shifted positive transient absorption signal around 750 - 800 nm. We hypothesize that the presence of the ICT state is associated with the pigment-protein interaction of a carotenoid keto group and specific amino acid in the protein. To perform the experiment, four mutant complexes with amino acids substitutions, which should result in decreased intensity of the ICT signal due to a weaker or missing pigment-protein interaction, were obtained and measured using femtosecond time resolved pump-probe spectroscopy. 2022 - anglický Trade-offs in fitness traits in Drosophila were studied in a laboratory environment. Fly and wasp lines originated from an ecological community in a tropical rainforest in Queensland, Australia and were established in České Budějovice. Experimental evolution was used to impose selective pressures on populations of flies to select for parasitoid resistance and competitive ability. The selection regimes were followed by two separate phenotyping experiments to measure the resulting phenotypic changes and impose novel conditions to the evolved flies in order to identify trade-offs.
