Using Fairy Tales in Foreign Language Lessons Presented on the Story of Cinderella

This thesis deals with the using fairy tales in foreign language lessons. In the theoretical part, the main aim is to define what is the fairy tale, what are its characteristics and mission as well-known and loved gendre of literature not only for children. The second part is dedicated to ways of using literary texts, especially fairy tales, in language lessons, its advantages, disadvantages, possibilities and difficulties. As a model fairy tale, the story of Cinderella has been selected. Another aim, based on the examination of different versions of fairy tale about Cinderella, is to compare these versions and highlight the main differences, especially focused on the versions of Czech authors, French classicist Charles Perrault and German authors Brothers Grimm. The practical part of the final project is focused on tasks and exercises related to reading comprehension, writing, grammar and practising new vocabulary as well as drama training. Almost all activities in this part are based on the story about Cinderella, but it is evident that they can be transformed for another fairy tale or literary text. Tato závěrečná práce se zabývá metodou CLIL, což je integrovaná výuka cizího jazyka a nejazykového předmětu.
