Edited final report of the project DF11P01OVV012: New materials and technologies for the preservation of historical building materials and preventive care of monuments
Rathouský, Jiří; Slížková, Zuzana; Kotlík, P.
2016 - Czech
This project was focused on development of new materials and technologies for complex solution of problems with preservation of a cultural heritage in the Czech Republic. Main interests were conservation activities as cleaning of historical materials using microemulsions and micellar solutions, consolidation by calcium hydroxide and modified ethylsilicate gels and protection of materials against environment effects and biocorrosion, including protection of the original appearance of the historic materials. Projekt byl zaměřen na vývoj nových materiálů a technologií pro komplexní řešení problematiky uchování hodnot hmotného kulturního dědictví v ČR zejména s ohledem na čištění historických materiálů s využitím mikroemulzí a micelárních roztoků, konsolidaci objektů pomocí nanodisperzí hydroxidu vápenatého a modifikovaných ethylsilikátových gelů a preventivní ochranu materiálů proti působení vnějšího prostředí a biokorozi, včetně zachování jejich původního vzhledu.

The report on a development of advanced methods of the study of speciation and description of sorption of actinoids

The report of the last period of the project presents a development of three topics, each of which relates to the study of the radionuclide migration in fields near to disposal of nuclear waste and other nuclear facilities. The local structure and thermodynamic stability of uranyl sulfate complexes in aqueous solution was investigated by DFT theory. Interpretation of UV-VIS absorption spectra of uranyl-sulfate and -aqua complexes in aqueous solution was performed within the time-dependent DFT calculations. The structures were optimized in the aqueous phase at the B3LYP level by using model COSMO. The calculated geometries of aqua-sulfate complexes corresponded to the experimental data. DFT method described qualitatively thermodynamic stability of complexes in solution. TD-DFT method correctly interpreted only a part of absorption spectra (190-340 nm). In order to interpret the area around 420 nm it will be necessary to use the two-component relativistic TD-DFT. Kvantově-chemické výpočty správně interpretují strukturu a geometrii uranyl-sulfátových komplexů. Teoreticky určená absorpční UV-VIS spektra správně popisují oblast od 190 do přibližně 340 nm. Provedená studie je výchozím krokem pro korektnější popis UV-VIS spekter pomocí relativistické TDDFT a pro kvantově-chemickou interpretaci fluorescenčních spekter uranyl-sulfátových komplexů.
