Public opinion research in 9 localities selected for for the deep geological repository of radioactive waste

The final report is the result of the analysis „Public opinions in localities selected for deep geological repository of radioactive waste“, which was implemented in the form of public opinion research in nine localities of the Czech Republic selected as a potencial suitable places for the construction of a deep geological repository. The research was realized in May and Junice 2018 and a total of 2813 respondents were interviewed. Závěrečná zpráva je výstupem z projektu „Názory veřejnosti v lokalitách vytipovaných pro zřízení hlubinného úložiště radioaktivních odpadů“, který byl realizován formou výzkumu veřejného mínění v devíti lokalitách ČR vytipovaných jako potenciální vhodná místa pro zřízení úložiště radioaktivních odpadů. Výzkum proběhl v květnu a červnu 2018 a bylo v něm dotázáno celkem 2813 respondentů.\n

How Egalitarian are we? Earnings, income and household conditions in Czechia in comparison with Europe

The study brings a comprehensive view of population’s earnings, household incomes, redistribution flows, household budgets and wealth, both in terms of development in the Czech Republic and compared to European countries. It also deals with perceived economic inequality and middle-class identity. It uses a wide range of statistical and sociological data, partly from European and world databases, and partly from own calculations based on individual data of comparative surveys. Data are presented mainly in charts showing the position of the Czech Republic on European ladder. The results question the general belief about extraordinary equality in our country and specific Czech egalitarianism. The Czech society is no longer equalized in earnings, or in the situation of households. It does not even appear to be exceptionally egalitarian in different attitudes. Studie přináší souhrnný pohled na výdělky osob, příjmy domácností, přerozdělovací toky, majetkové rozdíly a hospodaření rodin, a to jednak z hlediska vývoje v ČR a jednak ve srovnání s evropskými zeměmi. Zabývá se rovněž vnímáním ekonomické nerovnosti a středostavovskou identitou. K tomu využívá široké palety statistických a sociologických dat, zčásti pocházejících z evropských a světových databází a zčásti z vlastních výpočtů na základě individuálních dat komparativních výzkumů. Data jsou prezentována převážně v grafech ukazujících pozici ČR na evropských žebříčcích. Výsledky zpochybňují obecné názory o výjimečné rovnosti v naší zemi a specificky českém rovnostářství. Česká společnost už není „nejrovnější“ ani ve výdělcích, ani v situaci domácností. Nejeví se ani nějak výjimečně rovnostářskou v různých postojích.

How the Czech public sees forests: how they should look and how to manage them

The Czech public perceives forests in a broad context of environmental protection, while recognizing the importance of the production function of forests. Opinions emphasizing the environmental dimension of forest ecosystems are more likely to be attributed to people with higher education. It can be said that groups promoting the urgency of environmental problems are successful in public discourse. The public perceives the threat of forests by climate change, accentuating the non-productive functions of the forest and leaning towards nature-friendly ways of dealing with the forest. Česká veřejnost vnímá lesy v širokých souvislostech ochrany životního prostředí, současně si je vědoma důležitosti produkční funkce lesů. K názorům kladoucím důraz na environmentální rozměr lesních ekosystémů se častěji přiklání lidé s vyšším vzděláním. Lze konstatovat, že skupiny prosazující naléhavost environmentálních problémů jsou úspěšné ve veřejném diskursu. Veřejnost vnímá ohrožení lesů klimatickou změnou, akcentuje mimoprodukční funkce lesa a přiklání se k přírodě blízkým způsobům zacházení s lesem.

The paper historically analyses sociological research on poor in the city of Prague conducted in the 1920s and 1930s. Principal attention is paid to research programmes lead by R. Crawford and O. Machotka. Kapitola provádí historickou analýzu sociologických výzkumů pražské chudiny uskutečněných ve 20. a 30. letech 20. století. Ústřední pozornost je věnována výzkumným programům vedeným R. Crawfordovou a O. Machotkou.

Part of Public Opinion Research Centre survey in February were several questions concerning respondents' opinions on the functioning of democracy in the Czech Republic, the general attitudes towards democracy and respect for human rights in our country. Součástí únorového šetření CVVM SOÚ AV ČR, v.v.i. bylo i několik otázek, které se týkaly názorů respondentů na fungování demokracie v České republice, obecného postoje k demokracii a respektování lidských práv v ČR. S fungováním demokracie v naší zemi jsou spokojeny tři pětiny občanů, což je nejvíce za celé sledované období. Téměř polovina českých občanů věří, že demokracie je lepší než jakýkoliv jiný způsob vlády.

The aim of the method is to identify a housing market failure on the level of the Czech municipalities as well as on the level of individual households that should prove a need for public subsidies on social housing. The method is intended for municipal and state administration. The employment of the method should guarantee the effective use of public sources for social housing investments in compliance with EU rules for social housing investments as a service of general economic interest. Cílem metodiky je identifikovat selhání trhu bydlení, a to jak na úrovni obcí ČR, tak na úrovni jednotlivých domácností, které má posloužit pro prokázání potřeby veřejné podpory v oblasti sociálního bydlení. Využití metodiky má sloužit obcím, ale také státním orgánům pro efektivní rozdělování dotací v oblasti sociálního bydlení, které bude zároveň v souladu s platnými evropskými regulacemi o provozování sociálního bydlení jako služby obecného hospodářského zájmu.

Research report summarizes the results of the 2 nd wave of on-line survey conducted in the summer of 2016 on ICT Prague in the frame of the FP7 project TRIGGER. The survey, which included technical and administrative staff, focused on working conditions and gender equality at ICT. Výzkumná zpráva shrnuje výsledky druhé vlny on-line dotazníkové šetření provedeného v létě 2016 na VŠCHT Praha v rámci mezinárodního projektu 7. rámcového projektu TRIGGER. Dotazníkové šetření, které zahrnovalo technické a administrativní pracovníky a pracovnice, se zaměřilo na otázky pracovních podmínek a genderové rovnosti na VŠCHT.
