Preparation of Cu3(Si0.5Ge0.5) Nanoplatelets
Dřínek, Vladislav; Fajgar, Radek; Palatinus, Lukáš; Klementová, Mariana; Novotný, F.
2010 - anglický
The nanoplatelets possess composition corresponding to Cu3(Si0.5Ge0.5). The 3D collection of electron diffraction patterns has shown that the rooom-temperature structure of the nanoplatelets corresponds to the ?-Cu3Si phase. Evaluation of the diffraction pattern shows that the structure has trigonal symmetry with long period incommensurate modulation. it can be approximately described in a 36-fold superstructure with trigonal unit cell and cell dimensions a=b=16.1A6, c=21.8A6. Klíčová slova: nanoplatelet; silicon; germanium Plné texty jsou dostupné na jednotlivých ústavech Akademie věd ČR.

Characterization and Properties of Titanium-Vanadium Oxide Thin Films Prepared by ArF Laser Ablation
Fajgar, Radek; Kupčík, Jaroslav; Šubrt, Jan; Novotný, F.
2010 - anglický
Thin films od vanadium-titanium complex oxides were prepared by ArF excimer laser ablation of Tio2 and VO2 targets. The light grey films with thickness of 155 nm were grown on glass and Au substrates and characterized by microscopy, spectroscopy and diffraction techniques. The as-prepared films were nanocrystalline and heating at 450°C in vacuum led to formation of mixture of crystalline V0.95Ti0.05O and TiO nanoparticles. The film shown reversible thermochronic behaviour between 3.0 and 1.4 micrometers. The films, annealed in air oxidize and the colour of the film changes to light yellow. Electrical and optical properties of the films are demonstrated. Klíčová slova: vanadium-titanium; thermochromic effect Plné texty jsou dostupné na jednotlivých ústavech Akademie věd ČR.

CFD Simulation of Hydrogen Production by Biomass Partial Oxidation
Tukač, V.; Hanika, Jiří; Veselý, Václav; Lederer, J.; Kovač, D.; Nečesaný, F.
2010 - anglický
Nowadays hydrogen demand caused by deep fuel refining and the other sustainable processes leads to utilization of new raw materials. Simultaneously, extensive biodiesel production creates great amount of biomass wastes transcendent over feeding potential of farm animals. One of potentially useful process of hydrogen production from renewable natural sources seems to be partial oxidation (POX) and gasification of biomass material like rape meal from rape oil production and/or distillery slop originated from bioethanol. The goal of this work was to develop simulation models of pilot POX reactor working with mixture of fuel oil and biomass. Klíčová slova: new raw materials; fuel oil; biomass Plné texty jsou dostupné na jednotlivých ústavech Akademie věd ČR.

Solubility of Ionic Liquids in Binary Systems with Water and Pseudobinary Systems with Solution Methanol/Water (1:1 Proportion of Weight)
Machanová, Karolina; Bendová, Magdalena; Sedláková, Zuzana; Wagner, Zdeněk; Aim, Karel
2010 - anglický
In this work, a study of solubilities of the above-mentioned ionic liquids in binary systems with water and pseudo-binary systems with solution methanol/water (1:1 proportion of weight) is presented. Knowledge of solubility of ionic liquids in these particular systems is helpful in the design and optimization of homogeneous catalytic processes, such as biphasic and reversibly biphasic catalysis. The solubilities were investigated by two experimental methods – the cloud-point and volumetric method. Klíčová slova: ionic liquids; homogeneous catalytic processes; methanol/water Plné texty jsou dostupné na jednotlivých ústavech Akademie věd ČR.

Colloidal Silica as an Efficient Binder for the Preparation of Al-SBA-15 Pellets
Topka, Pavel; Karban, Jindřich; Soukup, Karel; Jirátová, Květa; Šolcová, Olga
2010 - anglický
The objective of this contribution was to examine the possibility of using colloidal silica as a binder for the preparation of extrudates or pellets from mesoporous molecular sieves. Al- SBA-15 pellets with different content of colloidal silica were prepared and their textural properties and mechanical stability were investigated. The catalytic activity of the pellets in Friedel-Crafts alkylation of toluene with benzyl alcohol was directly compared to that of binder-free pellets and powder catalyst. Klíčová slova: catalysts; colloidal silica; pellets Plné texty jsou dostupné na jednotlivých ústavech Akademie věd ČR.

Behavior of Rising Bubbles - Effect of Liquid Properties
Wichterle, K.; Smutná, K.; Večeř, M.; Růžička, Marek
2010 - anglický
Air bubbles with volumes 10 mm3 < V < 1000 mm3 were studied in liquids with different density ρ, viscosity μ, and surface tension σ: i. e. water, glycerol solutions, calcium chloride solution, PAA solution, and butyl alcohol. In countercurrent downward flow of the liquids, the bubble shape, position, and motion can investigated experimentally for a quite long time interval. Klíčová slova: air bubbles; behaviour of rising bubbles; experiments Plné texty jsou dostupné na jednotlivých ústavech Akademie věd ČR.

Influence of Interphase Meniscus on Bubble Formation at a Plate
Stanovský, Petr; Růžička, Marek
2010 - anglický
This work is focused on a single bubbling from orifice at the plate as the first step for modelling of multi-orifice bubble formation at perforated plate. We explored experimentally an influence of design parameters (orifice diameter, plate thickness, liquid viscosity, gas chamber volume) on the interphase meniscus behaviour. The influence of an external acoustic field on the meniscus and bubble formation was explored also to simulate an influence of the sound field produced by other bubbles in real process. Acquired characteristics of the meniscus were incorporated into the model of bubble formation process. Klíčová slova: plate; bubble formation; meniscus Plné texty jsou dostupné na jednotlivých ústavech Akademie věd ČR.

Theoretical Description of Motion of a Spherical Bubble in Neighbourhood of a Falling Particle
Basařová, P.; Vejražka, Jiří; Zedníková, Mária; Hubička, M.
2010 - anglický
The aim of this work is to broaden the knowledge of the hydrodynamic interactions that occur between bubbles and solids of a comparable size. Focusing on collision processes between a single rising bubble with mobile surface and a larger falling solid spherical particle in stagnant liquid, the theoretical model describing the bubble trajectory is given here. The model is based on forces acting on the bubble and utilizes also equation for the bubble motion. The bubble is considered to be spherical and its motion is straight and rectilinear. The particle is spherical and moves vertically down with a steady velocity; the flow around the particle is axially symmetric. Klíčová slova: bubble-particle interaction; bubble hydrodynamics Plné texty jsou dostupné na jednotlivých ústavech Akademie věd ČR.
