Důležitost vhodné numerické kvadratury se obvykle v souvislosti s metodami konečných prvků vyšších řádů nebo jejich p- a hp- adaptivními verzemi nezdůrazňuje. Přesto je kvadratura základem konečně prvkových programových systémů a podstatně ovlivňuje jejich účinnost. Po uvedení do současného stavu problematiky numerické kvadratury pro metody konečných prvků jsou navrženy a diskutovány techniky, které mohou (a měly by) být užity tam, kde současné znalosti Gaussových kvadraturních vzorců jsou nedostatečné. The importance of suitable numerical quadrature is usually not emphasized in the context of higher-order finite element methods or their p- or hp-adaptive versions. However, quadrature lies at the heart of finite element codes and it influences their performance in a crucial way. After outlining some of the state-of-the-art knowledge and open problems in contemporary numerical quadrature related to finite element methods, we present and discuss several techniques which can (and should) be used where the current knowledge of Gaussian quadrature rules is not sufficient

Limiting Reiteration Formulae for Real Interpolation and Applications

Cílem článku je popsat reiterační vzorce s limitní hodnotou 0=1 pro reálnou interpolaci. Limitní reiterace může být použita ke zkoumání chování lineárních a některých kvazilineárních operátorů v limitních situacích. Výsledky jsou aplikovány k popisu limitního chování frakčního maximálního operátoru a k odvození přesných (limitních) vnoření Sobolevových-Orliczových prostorů W1 Ln (log L).alpha. (.omega.). Jako speciální případ (pro .alpha. = 0) dostáváme vnoření, které odvodili Brézis a Wainger. The aim of the paper is to describe reiteration formulal with the limiting value 0=1 for a real interpolation method. Limiting reiteration can be used to investigate a behaviour of linear and some quasi-linear operators in limiting situations. Results are applied to describe the limiting behaviour of the fractional maximal operator and to derive sharp limiting embeddings of Sobolev-Orlicz spaces W1 Ln(log L).alpha.(.omega.). In particular, if .alpha.= 0, we obtain the embedding which is due to Brézis and Wainger.

Tento článek se týká modulárního supervizního řízení diskrétních událostí systémů, kdy globální systém se skládá z podsystémů, které jsou synchronizovány paralelním součinem. Nedávno bylo ukázáno, že za velmi obecných podmínek jazyky vytvořené permisivním pravidlem řízení (definované koindukcí jako nová operace nazývaná supervizní součin) distribují se synchronizovaným (paralelním)součinem. Tento článek je zaměřen na studium distributivity mezi paralelním součinem a uzavřenými jazyky vytvořenými antipermisivním pravidlem řízení. Je zaručeno, že za podmínek, které jsou odvozeny v tomto článku, antipermisivní řízení může být realizováno lokálně, přičemž lokální antipermisivní řízení vede ke stejnému výsledku jako globální antipermisivní řízení. This paper is focused on the study of distributivity between synchronous product and closed-loop languages with respect to antipermissive control policy. It is guaranteed that under the conditions derived in the paper antipermissive control synthesis can be done locally and the local antipermissive control synthesis yields the same solution as the global control synthesis.

Článek je věnován problematice reprezentací a jejich rolí ve vyučování geometrii. Jsou v něm popsány tři specifické reprezentační módy: reprezentace problému příběhem, neverbální reprezentace a geometrická etudy, které byly použity v didaktickém experimentu. The paper deals with the problem of representations and their roles in the teaching of geometry. Three specific representational modes - representation of a problem through a story, non-verbal representation and geometrical sketch - used in a didactical experiment are described.

Optimality of embeddings of Bessel-potential-type spaces

Uvádíme věty o vnoření, které popisují přesná a nekompaktní vnoření prostorů Besselových potenciálů modelovaných nad Lorentzo-Karamatovými prostory. Cílovými prostory jsou buďto Lorentzo-Kramatovy prostory nebo zobecněné Hölderovy prostory. Jako důsledek získáme popis růstových obálek a spojitých obálek prostorů Besselových potenciálů modelovaných nad Lorentzo-Karamatovými prostory. Sharpness and non-compactness of embedding theorems for Bessel-potential spaces modelled upon Lorentz-Karamata spaces are presented. Target spaces are Lorentz-Karamata spaces and generalised Hölder spaces. As consequences of these results, growth and continuous envelopes of Bessel-potential spaces modelled upon Lorentz-Karamata spaces are obtained.

Sborník obsahuje přednášky čtyři hlavní zvané přednášky a 23 vybraných příspěvků účastníků konference. Všechny publikované články prošly standardním recenzním řízením. Konference byla šestou pořadí mezinárodních akcí organizovaných pod stejným názvem od r. 1988 střídavě ve Finsku, Německu a v České republice. Tato konference byla věnována sedmdesátinám prof. Aloise Kufnera, zakladatele české školy teorie prostorů funkcí. The proceedings contain four of the invited main lectures and 23 selected contributions by the participants. All published papers were subject to the standard referee procedure. The conference was the sixth in the series of international meetings organized under the same name alternatively in Finland, Germany and Czech Republic since 1988. This conference was devoted to the seventieth birthday of Prof. Alois Kufner, the founder of the Czech school on the theory of function spaces.

Práce se zabývá konstrukcí Gaussových kvadraturních funkcí vyššího řádu ve 2D a 3D. K tomuto tématu se vztahuje mnoho otevřených otázek. V úvodu je popsán současný stav znalostí a neřešených problémů v současné numerické kvadratuře, která se vztahuje k metodám konečných prvků. Pak jsou uvedeny techniky, které mohou (a měly by) být užívány, pokud dosavadní Gaussovy kvadraturní formule nedostačují. The construction of higher-order Gauss quadrature rules in 2D and 3D is it considered. Many open questions are related to the desing of (symmetric) formulae with minimum number of points. After outlining some of the state-of-the- art knowledge and open problems in contemporary numerical quadrature related to finite element methods, we present and discuss several techniques which can (and should) be used where the current knowledge of Gaussian quadrature rules is not sufficient.

Článek studuje pravděpodobnostní strategie pro problém plurality. We give asymptotically tight bounds both for randomized algorithms for the plurality problem in the case of two colors and many colors. For the balls colored by $k$ colors, we prove a lower bound $/Omega(kn)$ on the expected number of questions.
