Air Pollution Origin Based on One-year PM2.5 and PM10 Measurement at Two Suburban Sites in Prague.

The objective of this study was to determine air pollution origin in Prague based on the chemical composition of 24h atmospheric aerosol (AA) samples collected in parallel for one-year at two suburban sites. Chemical analysis of PM2.5 and PM10 for elements by ICP-MS, for elemental and organic carbon by thermo-optical method and water-soluble inorganic ions by IC was performed. The AA in Prague air shed was well mixed and nine common PM10 sources of local, urban, regional and long range transport (LRT) origin were apportioned. Zlepšení kvality ovzduší ve městech je možné za předpokladu pochopení základních mechanismů především pokud se jedná o AA a jeho koncentrace, zdroje a původ (Viana et al., 2008). Cílem práce bylo určit původ znečištění ovzduší v Praze na základě ročního paralelního měření AA na dvou městských pozaďových stanicích. It was designed by SMS CZ demonstration unit for which basic functional tests have been performed. Operational data and protocols from the basic unit testing are presented. Small modifications of heat exchanger have been proposed. It is expected to propose fuel dosage control with regard to operator level and operation conditions. Na základě primárních testů na VŠB byla zkonstruována společností SMS CZ s.r.o. demonstrační jednotka, u které byly provedeny základní funkční zkoušky. Jsou prezentovány provozní data a protokoly z průběhu základního testování mobilní jednotky. Byly navrženy malé úpravy výměníku tepla. This article discusses source apportionment analysis of fine aerosol fraction measured by C-ToF AMS at two different sites. The result of the analysis is a comparison of the aerosol sources between suburban and background sites during summer and winter season. Laboratory Separation of Methanol from the Azeotropic Mixture (25 wt% Methanol and 75 wt% trimethylborate.

The work deals with laboratory separation of methanol from the azeotropic mixture (25 wt% methanol and 75 wt% trimethylborate). Four different manufactured membranes were tested. For all except one separation, separation was more or less successful. With PVA 4155-80 / 2871 the separation proceeded with good results, but very slowly, a condition that could increase the reaction rate could be an increase of temperature. Most selective membrane from Sulzer was PDMS 4155 -30/305 R, which separated MeOH with high efficiency and fast enough. The completely opposite effect than pervious membranes had the membrane PDMS 4060, which instead of MeOH separated Trimethylborate. Práce se zabývá laboratorní separací methanolu z azeotropické směsi (25 wt% methanol a 75 wt% trimethylborát). Byly testovány 4 různé průmyslově vyráběné membrány. U všech kromě jedné separace probíhala více méně úspěšně. U PVA 4155-80/2871 separace probíhala s dobrými výsledky, ale velice pomalu, podmínkou, která by mohla zvýšit rychlost reakce by mohlo být zvýšení teploty. Nejlépe z membrán od společnosti Sulzer dělila PDMS 4155 -30/305 R, která separovala MeOH s vysokou účinností a také dostatečně rychle. Naprosto opačný efekt pak měla membrána PDMS 4060, která místo MeOH separovala Trimethylborát. Keywords: methanol; separation; membranes Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Comparison of Instrumental Techniques for Analysis of Ashes from Biomass.

Unburned carbon (UC) in six different combustion residues from solid biofuels has been examined using several methods of analysis, such as Loss On Ignition (LOI) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). Most of the samples came from the heating plants and local heat utilities in the Czech Republic. The amount of unburned carbon in the residues varied widely over an order of magnitude and in several samples accounted for about 7% of the ash mass. Experimental results have shown that LOI overestimated unburned carbon in nearly all samples. Some of these findings can be associated with previously identified thermal decomposition of minerals present in ash. Volatile organic compounds also appear to play a role in the final UC value. Out of TGA methods, first, we used strongly endothermic Boudouard reaction method as an advanced TGA method. However, this reaction was affected by the high potassium content in the samples which could cause incomplete conversion of carbon during Boudouard reaction, because of sintering and formation of the deposits of glass at high temperatures. The second method was a simple TGA method with a controlled atmosphere of nitrogen or air. For ashes, which tend to form a glassy coating and undergo a sintering process, it is not suitable to carry out the measurement at high temperatures, because the Boudouard reaction does not proceed entirely. For these types of samples, it is more appropriate to use TGA methods with a controlled atmosphere of nitrogen or air. V příspěvku jsou porovnány různé metody pro stanovení obsahu nespáleného uhlíku v popelech z různých vzorků biomasy. TGA metoda s použitím Boudouardovy reakce byla poměrně přesná, ale nelze ji považovat za univerzální vzhledem k možnému spékání vzorků. Právě spékání může být způsobeno vyšším obsahem draslíku, jak je ukázáno v případě vzorku č. 4 a 6. Na základě předložených údajů navrhujeme metodu TGA s kontrolovanou atmosférou dusíku a vzduchu jako nejběžnější pro stanovení nedopalu.
