The Corpus of Czech Verse

In following we present the Corpus of Czech Verse (i.e. lemmatised, phonetically, morphologically, metrically and strophically annotated corpus of Czech poetry) and the online tools that give access to its data. The following online tools are described: Database of Czech metres, Gunstick, Hex, Euphonometer, and Babel. English presentation of these tools may be found in Plecháč, Kolár 2015 or at the website of Versification Research Group (http://versologie.cz/en/). Studie představuje Korpus českého verše a on-line nástroje, které umožňují pracovat s jeho daty.

Methodology for compiling a specialist analytical bibliography

The presented methodology is divided into several individual sections. The general introductory section comprises a definition of the tem specialist article bibliography and sets it in the context of associated disciplines. This is followed by a practical section, which is split into two primary divisions. The first of these deals with the general aspects of compiling a specialist analytical bibliography as a whole, and progressively takes into account the delimitation of the sphere of material under consideration, the actual technique used for bibliographical work and the compilation of entries in database form, and in conclusion the editorial work on the specialist bibliography. The second section then focuses on the preparations for specialized bibliographies. The introductory theoretical treatment of the issue is followed by a classification of the basic types of specialized bibliographies, a description of the methodological procedure used for their compilation and the final section again comprises an analysis of the editorial procedures and the preparations for the publication of the bibliography. In both of the main sections the theoretical and classification parts come together with a summary of the basic kinds of issues met with by the bibliography compiler, together with the proposed solutions. Předkládaná metodika je rozdělena do několika dílčích částí. Úvodní obecná část se zabývá vymezením pojmu oborové článkové bibliografie a zasazuje jej do kontextu souvisejících disciplín. Následuje část praktická, která je dělena do dvou základních oddílů. První z nich se věnuje obecným aspektům zpracování oborové analytické bibliografie jako celku a postupně si všímá vymezení okruhu sledovaného materiálu, vlastní techniky bibliografické práce a zpracování záznamů v databázové podobě a na závěr pak redakční práce na oborové bibliografii. Druhý oddíl se pak cíleně věnuje přípravě bibliografií specializovaných. Po úvodním teoretickém pojednání problematiky následuje klasifikace základních druhů specializovaných bibliografií, popis metodického postupu jejich zpracování a závěrečnou část opět tvoří rozbor postupů redakčních a přípravy dané bibliografie k publikaci. V obou hlavních oddílech je teoretická a klasifikační část doplňována o přehled základních typů problémů, s nimiž se zpracovatel bibliografie setkává, a je navrhnuto jejich řešení.

Methodology for identifying the authors behind initials and pseudonyms in the periodical press

The methodology first deals with the basics behind the issue in question, which are primarily associated with the creation of a journal bibliography. Initially it defines a pseudonym and initials in a general working interpretation and proposes their classification. It then focuses primarily on initials as the main problem in the identification of authors in journal bibliography. Attention is then paid to several levels of difficulty in the deciphering process (manuals, databases, extracts and archive material) and the usability of deciphering for different types of bibliography. The methodology presents the possible practical procedures for the most rapid identification of the connection between the initials and the name of the author using identification techniques and pointing out the option of an inverse procedure for managing larger sets, i.e. a procedure not from the initials to the name, but from the name to the initials. New ways are also proposed to search for information using full-text search engines in scanned newspapers and magazines, particularly with the aim of providing greater detail for data that has already been acquired. Finally a proposal is made regarding the form of the entries for initials and pseudonyms in summary and database records. Metodika se nejprve zabývá východisky dané problematiky, která jsou většinou spojena s vytvářením časopisecké bibliografie. Na úvod definuje pseudonym a šifru v obecném pracovním výkladu a navrhuje jejich klasifikaci. Dále se věnuje převážně šifře jako hlavnímu problému identifikace autorů v časopisecké bibliografii. Pozornost je následně zaměřena na několik úrovní náročnosti v procesu dešifrace (příručky, databáze, výstřižky, archiválie) a využitelnost dešifrace u různých druhů bibliografie. Metodika předvádí možnosti praktických postupů pro rychlejší odhalení vazby mezi šifrou a jménem autora při zjišťovací rešerši a upozorňuje na možnost inverzního postupu při správě větších souborů, tj. postupu nikoli od šifry ke jménu, ale od jména k šifře/šifrám. Navrženy jsou též nové možnosti dohledávání informací pomocí plnotextových vyhledavačů ve skenovaných novinách a časopisech, a to především za účelem zpřesňování již dříve získaných údajů. Závěrem je podán návrh formy zápisu šifer a pseudonymů pro jejich evidenci v přehledech a databázích.

There is no article in Legenda aurea or in old Czech Passional which has its pattern from Christian ancient times when acta and passions were creating. The genological prototype of acta has not been reflected in later periods. In spite of this, the prototype of passio is evident with its original topoi (“idols, or torture to death”, imitatio Christi, ancilla Dei, sponsa Christi, desire to death) and the dialogue, which was developer from original examination of Christian by Roman high official. On the hagiographic text about Saint Justine and Saint Cyprian was proved the features of magical novel (Zauberroman). The tendency to narrativity rose up during High Middle Ages, the topoi of beauty and noble birth were added. The character of devil was changed: from the pagan as the (d)evil´s instrument transformed into the personificationed devil. Žádné z Voraginových ani staročeských passionálních hagiografických textů o svatých pannách-mučednicích z doby křesťanského starověku nemá svou původní předlohu v době, kdy vznikala acta a passiones. Žánrový prototyp acta není oproti passio ve vývoji dále reflektován, předlohy k nim vznikaly až od konce 4. století, ale většina z nich má svůj původ až ve století 7.– 9. Přesto je v těchto původních předlohách patrný model passio, který se osvědčil dříve, s původním inventářem topoi (topos „modly, nebo smrt“, dále imitatio Christi, ancilla Dei, sponsa Christi, touha po smrti), a téměř vždy je užito dialogu, který se vyvinul z původního soudního výslechu obžalovaného křesťana a římského hodnostáře. Na hagiografických textech o sv. Justině a sv. Cypriánovi jsme prokázali vliv tzv. kouzelnického románu. Tendence k narativitě značně stoupala ve vrcholném středověku (přibyla především topoi urozeného původu a krásy), kdy byly passiones ovlivněny světskou romance Podstatnou proměnou prošlo pojetí ďábla: z pohana jako nástroje ďáblova se v pozdějších textech transformoval do ďábla personifikovaného.

(The) Story of/and Dramatization

The main aim of the study is to analyze two key concepts of literary theory, namely the notions story and dramatization of literary works. In the first part of the essay, the structuralist definitions of story introduced by Tzvetan Todorov, Seymour Chatman, and others are examined as well as its definition in the framework of the fictional worlds theory as presented by Lubomír Doležel and Bohumil Fořt. This part results in a new definition of story for the purpose of dramatization. The second part gives a survey of definitions of dramatization and introduces two new categories: the textual dramatization, which inheres only transformations on the linguistic level, and perfomative dramatization inhering also the process and the result of staging, during which one sign system is substituted by another one (a process which may be referred to as intersemiotic translation). Eventually, the process of dramatization is being observed as a transformation of particular elements of story (characters, space, events) and fictional world structures (extension and intension). Studie Příběh (a) dramatizace se snaží teoreticky uchopit dva specifické koncepty literární vědy, konkrétně koncept příběhu a koncept dramatizací literárních děl. První část textu je věnovaná strukturalistickým definicím příběhu Tzvetana Todorova, Seymoura Chatmana a dalších, ale také vymezením příběhu v rámci teorie fikčních světů, s nimiž přicházejí Lubomír Doležel a Bohumil Fořt. V závěru první části je představena pracovní definice příběhu. Druhá část textu přináší několik slovníkových definic termínu dramatizace a posléze dvě nové možné kategorie dramatizací, tzv. dramatizaci v užším slova smyslu (textovou), která ošetřuje pouze transformace jazykového materiálu a dramatizaci v širším slova smyslu (inscenační), která zahrnuje proces a výsledek inscenační práce, při níž dochází k náhradě jednoho znakového systému systémem jiným (intersémiotický překlad). V závěrečné kapitole je koncept příběhu konfrontován s modelem dramatizace. Samotný dramatizační proces je teoretickým příkladem transformací jednotlivých elementů příběhu (postav, prostředí, událostí) či struktur fikčního světa (extense a intense).

Sborník shrnuje příspěvky přednesené na 8. ročníku Studentské literárněvědné konference, věnované osobnosti a dílu romanopisce, sémiotika a literárního historika Vladimíra Macury. Obviously, young Czech poetry had become more and more influenced by the ascending communistic ideology after World War I, which resulted in its evident ideologization. The need for new „saints“ to be celebrated arised, satisfied by an „enthronization“ of the German communist Rosa Luxemburg in the Czech context. The paper starts with analyzing the reception of her personality in the leftist Czech press, following the activities of the communist organisation Proletkult that was trying to promote Luxemburg as an exemplary „communist saint“ early in the 1920s, and inquires into the representation of Luxemburg in the texts by leftist poets such as S. K. Neumann, J. Wolker and A. M. Píša. Eventually, a description of the gradual decline of the Luxemburg cult in the following years is given. Po první světové válce začíná být mladá česká poezie zřetelně ovlivňována nastupující komunistickou ideologií. Dochází tak ke zřejmé ideologizaci této poezie, která se projevuje mimo jiné poptávkou po nových „světcích“, které by měla oslavovat. V českém prostředí vystupuje v této souvislosti zřetelně do popředí postava německé komunistky Rosy Luxemburgové. Předkládaný příspěvek analyzuje nejprve její recepci na stránkách soudobého levicového tisku, poté sleduje aktivity stranické organizace Proletkult, která se snažila postavu Luxemburgové na počátku dvacátých let propagovat na veřejnosti jako vzorovou komunistickou světici, a věnuje se též ztvárnění R. Luxemburgové v textech soudobých levicových básníků – jmenovitě S. K. Neumanna, J. Wolkera a A. M. Píši. Závěrem je pojednán též postupný rozklad kultu R. Luxemburgové v letech následujících.
