Černý, Marcel
2008 - Czech
The study puts emphasis on the Czech-Bulgarian cross cultural works of a mathematician, journalist and translator Vladislav Šak (1860-1941). The study aspires to merge knowledge regarding Šak’s bulgarian studies contribution (he has translated Ch. Botev, I. Vazov, K. Christov, E. Bagrjana, K. Veličkov and others; among others he has written set of sonnets "Pod Vitoší", 1905; "Bulharsko-český slovník", 1910-1913; "Kniha bulharsko-české konversace", 1913; "Česko-bulharský slovník", 1926) on the basis of available literature as well as so far unexplored sources (e.g. Šak’s autobiography that has been published within this study, or the only broader correspondence collection, Šak’s letters addressed to Adolf Černy, the main editor of "Slovanský přehled", into which Šak used to regularly contribute partly under the pen-name Martin Prentov). Both Šak’s personal and professional relationships with K. Veličkov have been described for the first time. Studie se zabývá činností matematika, novináře a překladatele Vladislava Šaka (1860-1941) v oblasti česko-bulharských kulturních vztahů. Snaží se syntetizovat znalosti o Šakově bulharistickém přínosu (překládal Ch. Boteva, I. Vazova, K. Christova, E. Bagrjanu, K. Veličkova aj.; napsal mj. sbírku sonetů Pod Vitoší, 1905; Bulharsko-český slovník, 1910-1913; Knihu bulharsko-české konversace, 1913; Česko-bulharský slovník, 1926) na základě dostupné literatury i doposud badatelsky nevyužitých archivních pramenů (např. Šakovy autobiografie, jejíž edice je součástí studie, či jediného rozsáhlejšího souboru jeho korespondence, Šakových listů Adolfu Černému, hlavnímu redaktorovi Slovanského přehledu, do něhož Šak přispíval; částečně pod pseudonymem Martin Prentov). Zcela nově jsou zpracovány Šakovy osobní a pracovní styky s K. Veličkovem. The idea of ecumenicalism in the work of Francis Dvorník
Vavřínek, Vladimír
2007 - Czech
One of the central themes of the scholarly work of the world renowned Byzantinist of Czech origin Professor Francis Dvorník was the question of the causes and development of the rift between the Western (Catholic) and Eastern (Orthodox) Churches. He examined the beginnings of their conflicts already in his first books devoted to the Cyrillo-Methodian mission in Great Moravia and he dealt in full with his thesis in his major work entitled The Schism of Photius. Dvorník’s ideas won recognition not only in the scholarly world but also, in particular in the connection with the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council, in the Catholic Church. Keywords: idea of ecumenicalism; Dvornik, Francis Available at various institutes of the ASCR
