Implementation of the TTS system based on cepstral description into Pocket PC device

The report is focused to description of rebuilding the original Czech and Slovak TTS system based on the cepstral description of diphone speech inventory to the form acceptable by the Pocket PC computers running under Widows CE OS. The special aids for blind and partially sighted people Braille notetaker based on PPC with the EasyLink software is there also described. The report below contains description of implementation of the Czech and Slovak speech synthesizer as new voices for the EasyLink system. Zpráva se zabývá popisem přebudování původního česko-slovenského TTS systému na bázi kepstrálního popisu difónového řečového inventáře pro funkci v kapesních počítačích s operačním systémem Windows CE. Ve zprávě je popsán Braillský zápisník se speciálním softwarovým vybavením pro nevidomé nebo slabozraké uživatele. Pro tento zápisník byl implementován český a slovenský syntezátor řeči, což spolu s vytvořeným instalačním a testovacím programem bylo hlavním cílem prováděných prací.

The goal of control system of the optical laboratory for luminescence is designed for controlling of all optical electronical and mechanical components of luminescence spectrometer like cryostat, laser, monochromator and data sampling from this physical experiment. Úlohou řídícího systému optické laboratoře ÚRE pro fotoluminiscenci je řízení všech optických, elektronických i mechanických komponent luminiscenčního spektrometru jako je kryostat, laser, monochromátor a sběr a ukládání změřených dat tohoto fyzikálního experimentu.

Bidirectional transmission of 8x10 GE over 210 km of standard single mode fibre without in-line EDFAs

We present experimental results on bidirectional transmission of (2x4) 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GE) channels over 210 km of standard single mode fibre (G3652 according to ITU specification). Inexpensive XENPAKs transceivers, conventional unidirectional erbium-doped fibre amplifiers (EDFA) and low noise EDFA preamplifiers Jsou prezentovány experimentální výsledky obousměrného přenosu osmi (2x4) 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GE) kanálů přes 210 km standardního jednovidového vlákna (G.652 dle ITU specifikace). Byly použity 10 GE vysílače/přijímače opnext DWDM XENPAK, běžné výkonové erbium-dopované zesilovače (EDFA) a nízkošumové EDFA předzesilovače.

FTTx networks in the Czech Republic and in the world – status and prospects

The fact that, apart from Japan and South Korea, also the biggest US operators have launched their FTTx projects, proves that the era of deploying optical fibres in the access networks has started in earnest. The authors of the paper, as part of their activities in the framework of the European IST project BReATH (BRoadband e-services and Access for The Home) have gathered up-to-date information on the status and prospects of development of FTTx networks in the Czech Republic and in the world. Skutečnost, že kromě Japonska a Jižní Korey rozjeli své projekty FTTx i největší telekomunikační operátoři v USA, potvrzuje, že již opravdu začala éra nástupu optiky do přístupových sítí. I v Evropě již byla realizována řada projektů, další jsou ve stadiu realizace. Autoři příspěvku v návaznosti na jejich aktivitu v FTTx Forum-czsk a v evropském projektu BReATH (BRoadband e-services and Access for The Home) shromáždili aktualizované údaje o stavu a perspektivách výstavby sítí FTTx v ČR a ve světě.

Effect of silicon nitride layers on the minority carrier diffusion length in c-Si wafers

The main purpose of this work was the comparison of the silicon nitride prepared by the LP CVD and by the MW PE CVD from silane and ammonia gases with respect to the possibility of passivation c-Si surface layer. The properties of the silicon nitride films were studied by the surface photovoltage (SPV), FTIR and SIMS methods. The average value of the diffusion length of minority carriers in the Si samples with the LP CVD nitride was shorter and dependent on the location in the reactor. Hlavním cílem práce bylo porovnání nitridu křemíku připraveného metodami LP CVD a MW PE CVD ze silanu a čpavku s ohledem na možnost pasivace c-Si povrchových vrstev. Vlastnosti vrstev nitridu křemíku byly studovány metodami SPV, FTIR a SIMS. Průměrná hodnota difuzní délky minoritních nosičů v Si vzorcích s LP CVD nitridem byla kratší a závisela na místě v reaktoru.

Some specific problems of ultrawideband wireless systems

The paper is devoted to some selected problems, specific for the ultrawideband technology. First at all we are introducing the work of ITU-R on harmonising the new technology with the existing radiocommunication systems. The we deal with power utilisation of the various PDS masks and with the existence of discrete spectral components in emitteed signals. The report try to collect contemporary state of art and comment the situation by implementation UWB systems. Zpráva rozebírá specifické problémy charakteristické při zavádění ultra-širokopásmových technologií do pravidelné radiokomunikační služby. Harmonizace nové technologie s existujícími rádiovými systémy je primárně důležitá. Pozornost věnuje i dalším vybraným technickým otázkám jako je výkonové využití spektrálních masek a existence diskrétních spekrálních komponent ve vysílaném signálu. Zpráva se snaží komentovat současný stav zavádění UWB techniky a technologie do pravidelného provozu.

Examples of utilisation of optical fibre infrastructure for provisioning interned-based broadband services are given. V příspěvku je presentován evropský projekt BReATH (BRoadband e-services and Access for The Home) – jeho cíle a předběžné výsledky. Jsou uvedeny příklady využívání optické kabelové infrastruktury pro poskytování širokopásmových služeb na bázi Internetu.
