The report is a first outcome of the project "Role of Churches and the Importance of Religiosity in the Re-entry Care in the Czech Republic" supported by the Czech Academy of Sciences. An evaluation of a questionnaire investigating the Czech volunteers writing to the prisoners is reported. The main topic of the report is the intersection of such activity with religion and faith. Further, the report informs about motivations of the volunteers and aims to sketch a profile of the volunteer writing to prisoners. \n\n Průběžná zpráva je druhým výstupem z projektu "Role církví a význam religiozity v následné péči o propuštěné vězně" realizovaného v rámci post-doktorandské podpory Akademie věd ČR. Zpráva se zabývá vyhodnocením dotazníku určeného dobrovolníkům, kteří si v České republice dopisují s vězni. Hlavním tématem je vztah tohoto typu dobrovolnictví k religiozitě a víře. Zpráva dále pojednává o motivacích k této činnosti a usiluje o vykreslení profilu dobrovolníka dopisujícího si s vězni.

The report is a first outcome of the project “Role of Churches and the Importance of Religiosity in the Re-entry Care in the Czech Republic” supported by the Czech Academy of Sciences. It is an explorative study in the Czech Republic as it deals with understudied theme of competences of prison chaplains and volunteers within the re-entry care. The aim of the phase is to identify the limits and problematic aspects of such engagement and also to emphasize the effective approaches and positive outcomes. One of the goals is also to define the identity of chaplains and volunteers within the Czech prison system. \n\n Průběžná zpráva je prvním výstupem z projektu „Role církví a význam religiozity v následné péči o propuštěné vězně“ realizovaného v rámci post-doktorandské podpory Akademie věd ČR. V českém prostředí se jedná o explorativní studii, která se zabývá dosud nedostatečně prozkoumanou problematikou, a to možnostmi a kompetencemi vězeňských kaplanů a dobrovolníků v rámci postpenitenciární péče. Cílem této fáze projektu je identifikovat překážky a problematické aspekty této angažovanosti, ale rovněž zdůraznit osvědčené přístupy a pozitivní výstupy. Jedním z dílčích cílů je mezi jinými vyhodnocení identity kaplanů a dobrovolníků v českém vězeňském systému.

This is a report from qualitative research focused on innovation and innovation environment in the Czech Republic. This analysis shows that the innovation environment in the Czech Republic is greatly influenced by the setting of financing of innovation (from public and private financial sources), but also by setting the processes of innovation in companies. Research has also shown that in the Czech Republic is not set a strong cooperation between the private and academic sectors, compared to the European standard. Then the research also shown that there is a lack of legislative or financial support for the transfer of scientific knowledge into practice. Jedná o výzkumnou zprávu z kvalitativného výzkumu zaměřeného na inovace a inovační prostředí v ČR. Analýza ukazuje, že inovační prostředí v ČR značně ovlivňuje otázka nastavení financování nápadů (z veřejných i soukromých finančních zdrojů), ale také nastavení procesů inovativnosti ve firmách. Výzkum dále ukázal, že oproti evorpskému standardu je v ČR velmi slabá spolupráce mezi soukromým a akademickým sektorem, a že není dostatečně nastavena legislativní či finanční podpora přenosu vědekých poznatků do praxe.

The final report is the output of research regarding „Czech public awareness of the EEA and Norway Grants“. The report presents the results of representative research, the target group for which was the population of the Czech Republic ages 15 and older. Data was collected between 5 and 17 January 2019 through the personal questioning of respondents (a combination of CAPI and PAPI) based on a standardised questionnaire. A total of 1,087 respondents were questioned, and these individuals were selected using a quota method according to region, the size of the place of residence, age, and education level. Závěrečná zpráva je výstupem výzkumu „Povědomí české veřejnosti o Fondech EHP a Norska“. Zpráva zpracovává výsledky reprezentativního výzkumu, jehož cílovou skupinou byla populace obyvatel ČR starších 15 let. Sběr dat proběhl v termínu od 5. do 17. ledna 2019 metodou osobního dotazování tazatele s respondentem – kombinace CAPI a PAPI – na základě standardizovaného dotazníku. Celkem bylo dotázáno 1 087 respondentů vybraných kvótní metodou podle kraje, velikosti místa bydliště, pohlaví, věku a vzdělání.

The report presents the results of representative research, the target group for which was the population of the Czech Republic ages 15 and older. Data was collected between 4th and 14th May 2019 through the personal questioning of respondents (a combination of CAPI and PAPI) based on a standardised questionnaire. A total of 1,026 respondents were questioned, and these individuals were selected using a quota method according to region, the size of the place of residence, age, and education level.\n\n Závěrečná zpráva je výstupem výzkumu „Názory české veřejnosti na chov a drezúru zvířat žijících v cirkusech“. Zpráva zpracovává výsledky reprezentativního výzkumu, jehož cílovou skupinou byla populace obyvatel ČR starších 15 let. Sběr dat proběhl v termínu od 4. do 14. května 2019 metodou osobního dotazování tazatele s respondentem – kombinace CAPI a PAPI – na základě standardizovaného dotazníku. This document is an outcome of the research project Analysis of Barriers to and Support Strategy for Gender Equality in Science and Research implemented in 2017 and 2018 by the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences as part of the Operational Programme Employment (Reg. No. CZ.03.1.51/0.0/0.0/15_02 8/0003571). \nThe objective of the project was to develop recommendations for action to advance gender equality in research and development for the state administration and other key national players in research policy-making (the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the Research, Development and Innovation Council, the Czech Science Foundation, the Technology Agency of the CR). Additional measures have been developed for higher education and research institutions and their umbrella organisations (Czech Rectors' Conference, the Czech Academy of Sciences). Moreover, the document aims to serve government bodies responsible for gender equality agendas (the Gender Equality Department of the Government of the CR). The measures have been proposed on the assumption that for their successful implementation it is necessary to ensure synergy between the state administration and research and higher education institutions. Due emphasis is also placed on the role and responsibility of senior researchers.\n Tento dokument je výsledkem projektu Analýza bariér a strategie podpory genderové rovnosti, který v letech 2017 a 2018 realizuje Sociologický ústav AV ČR v rámci Operačního programu Zaměstnanost (reg. č. CZ.03.1.51/0.0/0.0/15_028/0003571). Cílem projektu byla příprava návrhů opatření prosazování genderové rovnosti v oblasti výzkumu a vývoje pro státní orgány a další klíčové státní aktéry vědních politik s národní působností (MŠMT, Úřad vlády, RVVI, GA ČR, TA ČR aj.). Cílí též na management vysokoškolských a výzkumných organizací a jejich zastřešující organizace (Česká konference rektorů, Akademie věd České republiky). Dokument je také určen pro vládní orgány, které mají v gesci oblast rovnosti žen a mužů (Oddělení rovnosti žen a mužů vlády ČR). Návrhy vychází z toho, že pro úspěšnou realizaci předkládaných opatření je potřeba součinnost orgánů státní správy se samotnými výzkumnými a vysokoškolskými organizacemi, zároveň též zdůrazňuje roli a odpovědnost vedoucích pracovníků a pracovnic výzkumu a vývoje.\nDokument nejprve představuje základní statistické údaje o zastoupení žen a mužů v českém výzkumu jako podkladová empirická data o trendech vzdělávání a zaměstnanosti žen a mužů ve vědě. V další části dokument shrnuje rámec českých veřejných politik v oblasti rozvoje lidských zdrojů a genderové rovnosti. Následuje přehled hlavních zjištění z výzkumu. Na jejich základě jsou definovány strategické cíle a konkrétní opatření, která jsou členěna dle klíčových aktérů, jimž jsou tato doporučení směřována. V přílohách jsou představena hlavní zjištění z jednotlivých částí výzkumu.\n\n

Public presentation of Street Crime Data - Solution Proposal for Czech Cities

The aim of this paper is to present a proposal for the public presentation of street crime data suitable for Czech cities. In the first part, the article review current research on street-level crime analyses in scholarly literature. We know from research by Weisburd (2015) and others that if we analyse spatial patterns of crime on micro-level, a half of the crime is concentrated in only five percent of street segments. In general, this conclusion is valid largely also in Czech cities and it has implications for policing and crime prevention. Current projects visualising 187 crime in space such as www.mapakriminality.cz260 present only data aggregated for large spatial units. Such projects are useful to initiate a public discussion in the first place, but they tend to create misconceptions about the actual spatial distribution of crime in cities. Crime statistics using large spatial units (OOPs, MOPs, districts) provide solid information about macro-regional patterns of crime, but they inevitably and falsely imply that a crime occurs somehow evenly within these large spatial units. Citizens do not have any detailed information about the real distribution of crime in Czechia and tend to fear or act in their lives according to highly biased media representation of crime. A possible solution to this problem is creation of a corrected Street Crime Index based on a multi-year series of crime data that would provide a realistic picture of crime in the territory, but at the same time allow sufficient spatial anonymization of data. Cílem příspěvku je představit návrh na zveřejnění dat o kriminalitě na úrovni ulic v podmínkách českých měst. Příspěvek nejprve informuje čtenáře o aktuálních výzkumech ve světě, které se věnují analýzám kriminality na úrovni ulic. Ze zahraničních výzkumů víme, že pokud analyzujeme kriminalitu na mikro-úrovni uličních segmentů, tak je polovina trestné činnosti koncentrována na pouhých pěti procentech segmentů. Tyto závěry do značné míry platí i v českých městech a mají své důsledky pro současnou bezpečnostní praxi. V Česku existující popularizační projekty typu www.mapakriminality.cz jsou sice užitečné, nicméně vedou k vytvoření mylných představ o územním rozmístění kriminality. Vzhledem k výše zmíněné velké nerovnoměrnosti kriminality na úrovni ulic poskytují veškeré statistiky kriminality využívající areálové jednotky (OOP, MOP, okresy) občanům extrémně zkreslenou a nepřesnou informaci o reálném rozmístění kriminality. Možným řešením tohoto problému je vytvoření korigovaného indexu kriminality na úrovni ulic založeném na víceleté řadě dat o kriminalitě, který by poskytoval reálnou představu o míře kriminality v území, ale zároveň by umožnil dostatečnou míru anonymizace.
