An experimental research of the material and mechanical properties of two steel segments cut from quick-closing gate was carried out for suitability assessment to operation. The aim of the survey was to assess the use of Ground Penetration Radar for the reinforcement position detection on the Ice ring restaurant – an early concrete building on Štvanice Island in Prague from 1932. For this case study a potentially critical section of a façade above the app. 16 m long horizontal window was selected. GPR from IDS company equipped with 2 GHz high frequency antenna was used. Survey of salinity of masonry under III. courtyard at Prague Castle

Archaeological architectural monuments in the area under III. in the courtyard of Prague Castle were monitored in 2021 in terms of the extent of salt efflorescences and their chemical composition. Salt efflorescence on the marlstone walls of the church of St. Bartholomew contain sodium carbonate and bicarbonate, sodium sulfate and calcium sulfate. Sodium nitrate and potassium nitrate were also present in some samples. The aim of the research is to propose measures to mitigate the effect of salts on the degradation of historic masonry. Archeologické stavební památky v prostoru pod III. nádvořím Pražského hradu byly v roce 2021 monitorovány z hlediska rozsahu výkvětů solí a jejich chemického složení. Výkvěty solí na opukové zdi kostela zvaného sv. Bartoloměj obsahují uhličitan a hydrogenuhličitan sodný, síran sodný a síran vápenatý. Místy byl přítomen též dusičnan sodný a dusičnan draselný. Cílem výzkumu je návrh opatření pro zmírnění účinku solí na degradaci historické zdiva. Microscopic characterization of mortar samples from Vinohrady Railway Tunnels

Within the construction-technical survey framework, a microscopic analysis of historical concrete samples was performed using a scanning electron microscope and SEM-EDS analysis. Characterization of mortar components and identification of chemical corrosion products. The results of the survey work were used as a basis for the reconstruction project. V rámci stavebně-technického průzkumu byl proveden mikroskopický rozbor vzorků historického betonu s využitím skenovacího elektronového mikroskopu a SEM‐EDS analýzy. Byla provedena charakterizace plniva a složek pojiva malt a identifikace produktů chemické koroze. The studied ceiling plasters were sampled the Mistr Jan Hus Church in Česká Lípa. The material consisted of several layers of paint. The aim of this research was to characterize the individual layers of plaster in the Stauss system. Vzorky pochází z omítky stropní konstrukce kostela Mistra Jana Husa v České Lípě. Omítka se skládá z několika vrstev a nátěrů. Cílem průzkumu je charakterizovat vrstvy tvořící základ omítkového souvrství, které bylo použito ve spojení se stropním systém Stauss. The mortar sample was analyzed using a TGA and SEM-EDS analysis as part of the construction and technical survey. The mortars' aggregate and binder components were analyzed, and the binder was identified as a mixture of soil and lime. Rozbor vzorků historické malty s využitím skenovacího elektronového mikroskopu (SEM‐EDS) a termické analýzy (TGA) analýzy. Charakterizace plniva a složek pojiva malty. In addition to basic static tests and fracture toughness tests, the research also included the determination of the kinetic of fatigue crack growth, incl. analysis of critical crack size.
