Results of Geophysical Surveys and Archaeological Research of a Site in Horní lán, Olomouc-Slavonín

A combination of geophysical methods and archaeological excavation was used to examine relatively large polycultural site of Horní lán in Olomouc-Slavonín. A geophysical survey conducted over area gave substantial information about positions of possible finds; subsequent excavations unearthed more than 4350 structures, mostly prehistoric semisubterranean structures, a part of a linear ditch and about 200 burials (prehistoric and early medieval). At this point of time, Horní lán is one of the most completely examined archaeological sites in the Czech Republic. We cannot overemphasize the importance of geophysical methods to our research. Kombinací geofyzikálních metod a archeologického výzkumu byla prozkoumána polykulturní lokalita v Olomouci-Slavoníně (trať Horní lán). Prozkoumaný areál se řadí k dobře a dostatečně prozkoumaným archeologickým lokalitám České republiky (vytipováno a odkryto více jak 4350 různých pravěkých a raně středověkých objektů). Získané podklady doplňují znalosti o celkovém historickém vývoji této struktury. Nelze opomenout významné postavení geofyzikálních metod při výzkumu.

Paper presents the Moravian painted ware culture material (including pottery and knapped and polished stone industry) from object No. 3/1996 from Mokrá at Brno.The object is radiometricaly dated to the end 1st phase. Studie prezentuje archeologický materiál z objektu 3/1996 kultury s moravskou malovanou keramikou (keramika, kamenná štípaná industrie), který je datován na závěr prvního stupně (doplněno o radiokarbonové datum).

The Koněprusy Caves: Depositional context of a human skeleton and the first radiocarbon dating

The Koněprusy caves in the Bohemian Karst represent a case of otherwise uninhabited underground system, where Upper Paleolithic human fossils were found in 1961 in a redeposited position, in the upper part or on the surface of a debris cone under vertical chimneys. Due to this situation, and with respect to the general archaeological and palaeontological context, Koněprusy were often compared to the site of Mladeč, Moravia, and the both depositions were intuitively dated to the Early Upper Paleolithic. Recent 14 C datings, however, confirmed an Aurignacian age for Mladeč only, whereas the date for Koněprusy suggets rather a Magdalenian age. New series of samples is actually being prepared in order to confirm this first dating. Finally, this paper discusses the term funeral caves. Koněpruské jeskyně v Českém krasu představují neosídlený podzemní systém, kde byly v roce 1961 objeveny lidské kosterní pozůstatky v redeponované poloze v suťovém kuželu pod vertikálním komínem. Současné radiokarbonové datování klade lidské pozůstatky do magdaleniénu. Článek rovněž diskutuje v obecné rovině problematiku tzv. funerálních jeskyní.

By means of geophysical radar measurement in Tišnov Cistercian Church were localized a number of crypts. Some of this vaults could infer us about the burial place of the cathedral promoter Constance (the widow of king Přemysl Otakar I.). Geofyzikální radarové měření v prostoru tišnovského chrámu cisterciaček lokalizovalo řadu hrobek, z nichž některé mohou naznačovat místo pohřbu zakladatelky kláštera královny Konstancie, vdovy po králi Přemyslu Otakarovi I.

Geophysical survey and archaeological excavation in northern-eastern part of Tábor

Archaeological excavation of Tržní náměstí (Market Square) in Tábor combined with an archaeogeophysical survey and prospect holes allowed the archaeologists to outline development of settlement in this part of Tábor from prehistory (Hallstatt Period) to industrialization (from 13th century buildings, walls, cultural layers, from 15th century new finds of the Hussite town - buildings, cultural layers, most of other relics date back to the Thirty Yers War - cultural layers, buildings). Archeologický výzkum Tržního náměstí v Táboře v kombinaci s provedenou archeogeofyzikální prospekcí a vrtním průzkumem umožnil rekonstruovat vývoj osídlení na této části táborské ostrožny od předhistorického období až po novověk (z doby halštatské, z 13. stol. - zástavba, fortifikace, kulturní vrstvy, ze století 15. - počátky husitského města, zástavba, kulturní vrstvy a z období následujících s převahou reliktů staveb zaniklých za třicetileté války - kulturní vrstvy, zástavba).

The development of the archaeological and building record-research in the town Brno until present. The biggest attention is concetrated on the development of research methods and destinations. The important qualitative moment brought the foundation of the specialised organisation, which pays the systematical attention to the research of Brno. Vývoj archeologických a stavebně-historických výzkumů Brna od počátku v 19. století po současnost. Důraz byl položen na vývoj metodiky a výzkumných cílů. Zásadní přelom přinesl vznik specializované organizace v r. 1997, zaměřené na komplexní výzkum hmotných památek Brna v nejširším slova smyslu. Jedním z charakteristických rysů je propojení klasického archeologického a stavebně historického výzkumu stojících staveb.

Flint Axes from Central Poland in Moravia

This paper presents the Moravian finds of flint axes made of banded Krzemionki flint (14 pcs.) and spotted Swieciechów flint (3 pcs.) transported from central Poland. The first group of artefacts is connected to the Globural Amphora Culture, the second to the Corded Ware Culture. Předmětem studie jsou moravské nálezy silicitových seker, k jejichž výrobě bylo použito pruhované krzemionkovské (14ks) a kropenaté swieciechovské (3ks) suroviny pocházející ze středního Polska. Artefakty první skupiny nálezů řadíme ke kultuře kulovitých amfor a druhou ke kultuře se šňůrovou keramikou.
