Invisible Web - What Search Engines Can´t Find

2002 - Czech Search engines such as Alta Vista, Google, etc. are mostly used tools for the Internet searching. The problem is that they are able to index just a smaller part of the web content. The rest, concerning of content-rich and valuable databases, is not possible to find this way. The presentation is oriented on those cases where is not appropriate to use general search engines and it is also giving solution how to reach this vast information resources. Invisible web and mainly its mapping and describing is a next challenge for information professionals. Vyhledávací stroje typu Alta Vista, Google, atd. jsou nejčastěji používaným nástrojem k prohledávání Internetu. Umí ovšem indexovat pouze menší část webu a zbytek týkající se především obsahově bohatých a hodnotných databází (univerzitních, knihovních, firemních, vládních atd.) nelze tímto způsobem prohledávat. Příspěvek se věnuje případům, ve kterých nelze tento obsah Internetu vyhledávácími stroji vyhledat a zároveň předkládá způsoby, jak se k těmto rozsáhlým zdrojům dostat. Neviditelný web a především jeho zmapování je další výzvou pro informační profesionály.
