The Development of the Physical Relief of Prague Castle in the Early Middle Ages and Its Contributio to the Study of the Beginnings of Prague Settlement Agglomeration

2015 - Czech Georeliéf významně ovlivnil sídelní strukturu raně středověkého rezidenčního areálu, který se v 9. stol. formoval na východní výspě hradčanského hřbetu. Podmínil rozsah a členění areálu, vedení komunikací a opevnění nebo vnitřní organizaci prostoru. Práce podává přehled o stavu a výpovědi publikovaných pramenů zabývajících se tematikou vztahu raně středověkého osídlení Pražského hradu k reliéfu. Digitální rekonstrukce původního reliéfu představuje hradčanský ostroh jako protáhlý úzký hřbet zbrázděný na svazích několika erozními rýhami, polohu s nevýhodnou morfologií vyžadující od počátku osídlení terénní úpravy. Podobu původního reliéfu vysvětluje geologická stavba území podrobně popsaná a přehledně zobrazená v geologické mapě. Vstupní data pro rekonstrukci jsou uvedena v soupisu a zobrazena v mapě dokumentačních bodů. Vývoj antropogenního reliéfu v raném středověku demonstrují příklady řešené ve třech vybraných částech hradu a proměna celého areálu je zachycen na modelu terénu kolem r. 1200. Práce stručně shrnuje současné poznatky o vývoji reliéfu v raně středověké pražské aglomeraci s ohledem na společný rozvoj osídlení malostranské kotliny, Pražského hradu a Hradčan. Pražský hrad - raný středověk - georeliéf - digitální model terénu The structure of the residential area, which began to develop in the eastern part of the Hradčany ridge in the 9th century, was determined by the original physical relief. Physical geography has shaped the extent and the division of the area, the network of ways and the fortification or the inner space structuring. This work offers an overview of the state of the art, of the evidence of the published sources concerning the relation between the early medieval settlement of Prague Castle and the original physical relief. The digital reconstruction presents the Hradčany ridge as an oblong, narrow spur grooved on the slopes by erosion gullies, as a site with unsuitable morphology which from the beginning of settlement required adjustments of the terrain. The original shape of the relief can be explained by the geological structure of the site which is described in detail and shown on a geological map. The data for the reconstruction are listed and shown on a map of measurement points. The later anthropogenic development of the relief in the Early Middle Ages is demonstrated on examples from three parts of the castle and the change of the whole area is represented by a model of the terrain in about AD 1200. The paper deals with the shape of the landscape in the Czech Lands between the years 1948 and 1989. It strives to identify what role was played in the process of landscape formation by the then ruling political establishment, represented by the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. By reviewing certain specific examples, it seeks answers to the question of to what extent the landscape in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia was affected by the construction of socialism after the Communist take-over in February 1948. 2008 - Czech Předkládaná práce se zabývá proměnou, jíž prošly lidsko - zvířecí vztahy v průběhu 19. a 20. století. Zkoumá, jaké psychologické a sociologické motivy jsou hybateli lidských aliancí k mimo - lidským živým bytostem. Metody užité k dekonstrukci "mýtů" vytvořených moderní a postmoderní euroamerickou společností k fenoménům jako zoologické zahradnictví, lov, a bezprecedentně rozšířené držení domácích živočichů v roli tzv. domácích mazlíčků, se pohybují v intencích oboru, vzniklého koncem 70. let v anglosaském světě, tzv. antropozoologie. Práce je členěna do dvou částí, přičemž každá z nich obsahuje čtyři kapitoly. První část - Člověk a zvíře v euroamerickém kulturním prostoru - popisuje turbulentní posuny, jimiž vnímání zvířat prošlo v době osvícenství, a to, jak je dále transformovaly děje spojené s průmyslovou revolucí - např. urbanizace. Zatímco před průmyslovou revolucí byli živočichové, zčásti také proto, že znalosti o nich a o způsobu jejich života byly poměrně vágní a zkreslené, bytostmi značně autonomními (kvintesencí toho byl fakt, že požívali statusu právní subjektivity), v druhé polovině osmnáctého století se vše změnilo. Od této chvíle byla zvířata vtahována do mnohem užších vazeb s člověkem, což vedlo na jedné straně k jejich obšírnému zkoumání, k nebývalému rozmachu různých odvětví zoologie, dále... This paper deals with various aspects of human- animal relationship: biological, psychological and sociological; but also with the fact how deep and thorough impact can political events have on the paradigma pointed towards animals. Here, these are depicted on significant fields of human - animal interactions of modern times, for example zoological gardens, petkeeping, changing ways of hunting, and also within some more obscure phenomena, such as animal abuse in laboratory research and in "meat plants". I also try to trace the roots of the approach that people of modern time Europe perform towards animals, and I do the same for India. The writing is divided into two parts, each one containing four chapters. The part No. I. - The man and the animal in Euro-American cultural context - describes the turbulent changes the human - animal relationship underwent during the era of Enlightenment, and tries to explain why it was so. Animals have enjoyed a widespread interest since times immemorial, but have hardly ever been perceived from the tabula rasa point of view. On the contrary, they have often been seen through the prisma of human sociology, serving as the immense field of manifold human projections.
