Atmospheric aerosol (AA), and its influence on the cloud formation, lifetime and other properties, remains the most uncertain (with low confidence level) element in the IPCC radiative forcing estimations (Stocker et al., 2013). The AA, however, is influenced by the cloud processing as well (Collett et al., 2008., Zíková and Ždímal, 2016). Cloud processing of AA (and vice versa) can be described on fogs, or on low clouds present at a suitable station. An example of such a station is Milešovka, where fog is present for almost 55 % of the time (Fišák et al., 2009), giving a great opportunity to explore the changes in the particle size distributions due to the cloud processing. Here, the hygroscopic behavior of submicron particles composed of ammonium sulfate (AS), dicarboxylic acids (including oxalic acid (OA), malonic acid (MA)), and oligomer Poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG-300 (-CH2OCH2-)n) is investigated with a Hygroscopicity Tandem Differential Mobility Analyzer (HTDMA), under relative humidity (RH) below 100%. The aerosol systems were varied in their complexity and ranged from single-component to more complex systems (2, 3 and 4 components). The experimental data are compared with predictions from Zdanovskii-Stokes-Robinson (ZSR) mixing rule (Stokes and Robinson, 1966) and the thermodynamic model Aerosol Inorganic-Organic Mixtures Functional groups Activity Coefficients (AIOMFAC) (Zuend et al., 2011). Zlepšení kvality ovzduší ve městech je možné za předpokladu pochopení základních mechanismů především pokud se jedná o AA a jeho koncentrace, zdroje a původ (Viana et al., 2008). Cílem práce bylo určit původ znečištění ovzduší v Praze na základě ročního paralelního měření AA na dvou městských pozaďových stanicích. The objective of this study was to determine air pollution origin in Prague based on the chemical composition of 24h atmospheric aerosol (AA) samples collected in parallel for one-year at two suburban sites. Chemical analysis of PM2.5 and PM10 for elements by ICP-MS, for elemental and organic carbon by thermo-optical method and water-soluble inorganic ions by IC was performed. The AA in Prague air shed was well mixed and nine common PM10 sources of local, urban, regional and long range transport (LRT) origin were apportioned. The catalytic hydrogenation of nitrile esters to amino esters was studied.Amino-esters are alternative monomers to produce these polymers. The hydrogenation of nitrile ester was performed in a stirred tank reactor. The mixing of the fluids was carried out using a gas induction stirrer with a hollow shaft. An appropriate amount of ammonia has to be dissolved into the reaction mixture in order to avoid side or consecutive reactions, whereas the starting material nitrile ester was diluted by applying methyl-cyclohexane as solvent.The influence of the amount of dissolved ammonia and the hydrogen solubility in the reactants and in the chosen solvent were considered in this study. A reaction mechanism is proposed a mathematical model, which describes the proposed reaction mechanism of intermediate species and products was proposed for this hydrogenation reaction. The data were fitted using the least square method and the relevant kinetic rate constants were determined. Preparation of Palladium Catalysts Supported on Activated Carbons from Agricultural Waste Biomass.

In the framework of the presented study, the low-cost activated carbons from tropical agricultural waste biomass including cocoa pod husks (denoted as CPH-AC) were prepared. The raw materials collected in Tumbes region in Peru were mixed with activating agent based on ZnCl2 in the weight ratio of 1/1. Subsequently, the mixture was put in a ceramic reactor and afterwards in a horizontal oven to be directly carbonized under nitrogen atmosphere. The subject of this paper is the submerged, round, unconfined turbulent axisymmetric jet, which issues from nozzles with different geometries and impinges to the flat heated plate positioned normally to the jet axis. The aim of experimental investigations, mathematical modeling and numerical simulations is to widely investigate properties and the vortex structures of modified and unmodified jet,that are assumed to have great importance in the heat transfer process. It is found that the vortex roll-up can be controlled by adding small amplitude modulation of the nozzle exit velocity using external source of low-amplitude oscillations or self-sustained oscillations generated in the operation of the specially designed whistler nozzles.
