2023 - anglický Přípona -ly v anglickém jazyce je často považována za primárně adverbiální. Cílem této Bakalářské práce je revize této hypotézy pomocí korpusového výzkumu. Data z korpusů britské i americké angličtiny silně nasvědčují tomu, že přípona -ly slouží převážně k tvoření příslovcí. Práce je psaná v anglickém jazyce. The suffix -ly is often considered to be primarily adverbial. The aim of this Bachelor's thesis is to revise that hypothesis through corpus-based research. Data from corpora, one of British and one of American English, both strongly suggest that the suffix -ly is mainly used for creating adverbs. The thesis is written in the English language. The World of David Walliams and Roald Dahl's Children's Books. A Comparative Analysis

2023 - anglický Práce se prostřednictvím srovnávací analýzy prozaické tvorby dvou britských autorů dětské literatury pokusí popsat dynamiku vývoje tvorby pro dětské čtenáře v kontextu britské fantastické literatury. Na příkladech z děl současného autora D. Walliamse se práce bude zabývat tématy, motivy a způsobem vyprávění autora humorné dětské prózy v porovnání s literárním odkazem děl Roalda Dahla. Pozornost se soustředí na formu literární grotesky a nadsázky, která v kontextu tvorby pro dětské čtenáře otevírá kontroverzní témata v případě obou uvedených autorů. Through a comparative analysis of the prosaic work of two British authors of children's literature, the bachelor thesis will attempt to describe the dynamics of the development of literary works for children's readers in the context of British fantasy literature. By way of examples from works of the contemporary author David Walliams, the thesis will deal with themes, motifs and manner of narration of the author of humorous children's prose in comparison with the literary legacy of works of Roald Dahl. The thesis focuses its attention on the form of literary grotesque and hyperbole, which in the context of works for children's readers opens up controversial themes in the case of both mentioned authors. 2023 - anglický Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vykreslením postav v povídce The Canterville Ghost napsané Oscarem Wildem, která se řadí ke gotické literature, ale zároveň ji svým způsobem paroduje. Humorná povídka The Canterville Ghost dále satiricky poukazuje na rozdíly myšlení mezi Američany a Brity. Teoretická část obsahuje základní charakteristiku gotického žánru, informace o autorovi Oscaru Wildovi a typologii základních gotických postav, jak v rané, tak v pozdní gotické literatuře. V praktické části se nachází popis děje povídky, charakteristika postav a porovnání jejich chování, způsobu vyjadřování nebo vzhledu s jinými gotickými postavami s posouzením, zda a jak odpovídají konvencím gotického žánru. The subject of this bachelor thesis is the portrayal of the characters in the short story The Canterville Ghost written by Oscar Wilde, which belongs to Gothic literature but at the same time parodies it in its own way. The humorous short story The Canterville Ghost additionally satirizes the differences in thinking between Americans and Britons. The theoretical part provides a basic characterization of the Gothic genre, information about the author Oscar Wilde, and a typology of typical Gothic characters in both early and late Gothic literature. The practical part includes a description of the plot of the story, characterization of the figures, and a comparison of their behaviour, manner of expression, or appearance with other Gothic characters in order to assess to what degree and how they correspond to the conventions of the Gothic genre. Nejprve představí přístup britské vlády k středoevropským státům a hrozbě německé vojenské expanze před vypuknutím války a krátce po něm. Se zřetelem ke specifickým okolnostem na okupovaných územích i ve státech stojících na straně Německa popíše hlavní formy britských zahraničně-politických iniciativ, zahrnující podporu exilových vlád, začlenění vojáků z okupovaných zemí do královských vojsk či působení prostřednictvím tajných služeb a zvláštních operací. Zvláštní kapitola se bude věnovat roli V. Británie při jednáních o poválečném uspořádání Evropy se zaměřením na středoevropský prostor. The bachelor's thesis is dedicated to British foreign policy towards Central Europe in the period of the Second World War. First it introduces the attitude of the British government towards Central European states and the threat of German expansion before the beginning of the war and shortly after it. With regard to specific circumstances in the occupied areas including the states supporting Germany, the bachelor's thesis describes the main forms of Great Britain's foreign policies and initiatives, including the support of exiled governments, integration of soldiers from occupied countries into the royal military or their activity in secret services and special operations. The bachelor's thesis also includes a special chapter devoted to the role of Great Britain during the negotiations of the post-war arrangement of Europe focusing specially on the Central European space. 2023 - anglický Bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou tří novel: Promlčení, Studené Štěstí, Osamělá vášeň slečny Hearnové od Briana Moora a jejich filmové zpracování. V práci je rovněž zaměřena pozornost na život a motivaci k autorově tvorbě, která je převážně náboženského charakteru. Kritika katolické víry spojuje všechny tři novely a proto je tomuto tématu v práci věnována zvýšená pozornost. Příběh každé novely je podrobně rozepsán, stejně tak i filmové adaptace, aby následně mohly být porovnány a ukázány rozdíly. The thesis deals with the analysis of three novels by Brian Moore and their film adaptation: The Statement, Cold Heaven, and The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearn. The work also focuses on author's the life and motivation, which is mainly of a religious nature. Criticism of the Catholic faith connects all three novels and therefore this topic is given increased attention in the thesis. The Reflection on Hamlet in McEwan's Nutshell

2023 - anglický Práce se zaměří na vyprávěcí perspektivu současného románu britského autora Iana McEwana Nutshell, který autor pojal jako literární experiment ve vztahu k literárnímu odkazu Williama Shakespeara a jeho klasické tragédie Hamlet. Práce v úvodní části představí autora v kontextu současné britské prózy a stručně zmíní díla současné literatury, která jsou součástí projektu The Hogarth Shakespeare Series (od roku 2015). Jádrem práce bude literární analýza McEwanova románu ve vztahu k tragédii W. Shakespeara, která se soustředí na identitu vypravěče příběhu, jeho existenciální zkušenost, vnímání světa a uzavřeného prostoru v matčině lůně. Závěrečná kapitola zhodnotí téma románu I. McEwana v porovnání s námětem klasické Shakespearovy tragédie. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the narrative perspective in Ian McEwan's contemporary novel called Nutshell. The author approached the novel as a literary experiment related to the legacy of William Shakespeare and his classical tragedy Hamlet. Firstly, the thesis presents the author in the context of contemporary British fiction and briefly introduces the works included in a project called The Hogarth Shakespeare Series (since 2015). The core of this thesis is a literary analysis of McEwan's novel in relation to Shakespeare's tragedy. The novel focuses on the narrator's identity, his existential experience, his perception of the world and the closed space of his mother's womb. Transformations of the Gothic Genre in the Context of Children´s Literature

Práce se v teoretické rovině zaměří na charakteristiku gotického žánru v průběhu staletí s ohledem na dynamiku gotických prvků v dílech dětské literatury a poté v interpretační rovině přejde k literární analýze textu románu pro dětské čtenáře The Graveyard Book současného britského autora Neila Gaimana. Práce si klade za cíl porovnání a literární analýzu textu The Graveyard Book s textem parodie gotického románu Oscara Wildea The Canterville Ghost a pokusí se zhodnotit přínos a oblibu gotického žánru v současné britské próze. The subject of the bachelor thesis is the transformation of the Gothic genre and its parodies in literature for children's readers. On the theoretical level, the thesis will focus on the characteristics of the Gothic genre over the centuries with regard to the dynamics of Gothic elements in works of children's literature and then, on the interpretive level, will proceed to a literary analysis of the text of the children's novel The Graveyard Book by the contemporary British author Neil Gaiman. The thesis aims to compare and literary analyse the text of The Graveyard Book with the text of Oscar Wilde's parody gothic novel The Canterville Ghost and attempts to assess the contribution and popularity of the gothic genre in contemporary British prose.
