2023 - anglický Předmětem zkoumání bakalářské práce je život a dílo britského autora dětských knih příběhů o Vlaštovkách a Amazonkách Arthura Ransoma. Práce v úvodu představí životopis kontroverzního autora, který proslul jako autor série dětských příběhů a zároveň naplňoval představu bohémského životního stylu a nevšedních zájmů v kulturní i politické oblasti. Cílem práce je kriticky zhodnotit rozporuplné osudy a peripetie autorova života na základě biografických a autobiografických pramenů (Brogan, Chambers, Hyland, Ransome) a pokusit se vystihnout podstatu dětských dobrodružných příběhů meziválečného období v Anglii se zaměřením na charakteristiku regionu tzv. Jezerní oblasti (Lake District) a jeho kulturního dědictví. V závěru práce porovná kritickou odezvu a kulturní význam Ransomových příběhů ve 20. století a v současnosti. The subject of the bachelor's thesis will be the life and literary work of the English author Arthur Ransome. The work will first focus on a detailed description of the author's life and what led him to write a children's book series, even though he lived a bohemian life and had extraordinary interests in culture and politics. The aim of the thesis is to critically evaluate the contradictory destinies and vicissitudes of the author's life based on biographical and autobiographical sources (Brogan, Chambers, Hyland, Ransome) and try to capture the essence of children's adventure stories in England with a focus on the characteristics of the Lake District) and its cultural heritage. At the end of the work, it compares the critical response and cultural significance of Ransom's stories in the 20th century and the present. Virus causes severe neurological disorders to human population in Europa and Asia. Despite effective vaccine, there is no specific antiviral treatment till now. The capsid protein encapsules the viral positive-sense single-stranded RNA and is essential in packaging and assembling of new virions within the host. A deeper understanding of these interactions and their implications should lead to new antiviral strategies and drug design. This thesis deals with the expression and purification of the capsid protein without membrane anchor using Escherichia coli expression system. Investment Market Tool for Young People

Nowadays, the housing market might be too expensive for the common people. Based on national average dwelling prices and average income, saving for the down payment might take several years. Also, the mortgage monthly payments can take a sizable part of a person income. The tool is written in Microsoft Excel? using VBA programming language to predict investments portfolios return and compare it to a hypothetical mortgage. Several scenarios can be saved for further analysis and the tool has the possibility to include further investment options and prediction techniques. Several examples are given to show the utility as well as a survey of potential users that have evaluated this tool. Cathepsin L of Sphaerospora molnari - localisation, function and diagnostic tools

2022 - anglický The aim of this thesis was to develop diagnostic and quantitative assays/tools based on western blotting, confocal microscopy and immunogold electron microscopy, as well as flow cytometry, to determine the localisation and potential function of the highly expressed cathepsin L of the myxozoan parasite Sphaerospora molnari (SmolCL) in its fish host, the common carp. Furthermore, a recombinant SmolCL was used in a vaccine trial to estimate its potential for raising antibodies in carp and test their immunoprotective potential towards S. molnari. This thesis provides new methodological tools for research and allows a greater understanding of myxozoan parasite-fish host interactions based on proteolytic enzymes. Dissemination of Cordyceps fumosorosea by entomopathogenic Nematodes

Its efficacy as an entomopathogen can be increased by joined application of the fungus with entomopathogenic nematodes. The aims of this thesis are to investigate the impact of the foraging strategy of different nematode species on the spore dispersal of C. fumosorosea and the significance the nematode's 2nd stage cuticle holds for spore dissemination. Additionally, novel approaches for the enhancement of spore transmission in soil environments via adhesives are explored. První část se soustředí na Tolkienův život, vlivy na jeho dílo a přehled kritiky Tolkienova díla. Také představuje debatu o sexismu spojeného se stereotypním zobrazením ženských postav a jejich nedostatek v příběhu. This bachelor thesis deals with various types of masculinity as represented by male characters in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and their comparison with stereotypical gender roles and the portrayal of male characters in the fantasy literature genre. The first part focuses on Tolkien's life and the influences on his writing and gives a review of the criticism of Tolkien's work. It also introduces the debate of sexism related to the stereotypical portrayal of female characters and their scarcity in the story. The second part is a brief introduction to the gender studies of femininity and masculinity, and the fantasy genre. The third part is the analysis of the main races of Middle-earth and selected characters - Aragorn, Samwise Gamgee, Frodo Baggins, and fraternal pair Boromir and Faramir - in the context of masculinity. Za pomocí historického kontextu přiblížuje vnější i vnitřní vlivy které utvářely jeho vývoj. Text shrne dobu japonské okupace, korejské války a turbulentní období druhé poloviny dvacátých let za účelem hlubšího porozumění jaký vliv tyto události měly na korejskou společnost, a filmy které v těchto dobách vznikly. Prozkoumává také přelom tisíciletí a změny které měly za výsledek popularitu kterou Korea zažívá dnes. Za pomocí interpretací představených filmů také analyzuje vztah korejské společností s vlastní historií a jak se tato dynamika skrze desetiletí měnila. Kombinací těchto faktorů se pokouší dosáhnout komplexnější představy o fungování soudobé korejské kinematografie. This bachelor's thesis deals with the history of Korean cinema against the background of socio-political changes. With the help of the historical context, it describes the external and internal influences that shaped its development. The text summarizes the period of the Japanese occupation, the Korean War and the turbulent period of the second half of the twenties in order to gain a deeper understanding of the impact these events had on Korean society, and the films that were created during these times. It then explores the turn of the millennium and the changes that resulted in the popularity that Korea experiences today. It also analyzes Korean Society's relationship with its own history and how this dynamic has changed over the decades through interpretations of the films presented. By combining these factors, it achieves a more comprehensive idea of the functioning of contemporary Korean cinema. Neurální habituace statických reklam v homo- a heterogenním video-prostředí.

2022 - anglický Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na teroretické rozpracování a empirický výzkum na téma habituace a percepce statických reklam v kyberprostředí během prohlížení videí. Teoretická část obsahuje souhrn teorie a výzkumu habituace, percepce reklam a vizuální percepce, také teoretický základ elektroencefalografie. Praktická část popisuje záměr, design, implementaci, výsledky výzkumu a jejich diskuzi. Mezisubjektový design výzkumu je vytvořen za účelem napodobit reálný kyberprostor, kde se reklamy se stávájí šumem a distrakcí pro uživatele internetu. Cílem výzkumu je na základě sledování biologických signálů (s použitím elektroencefalografie) změřit habituaci mozku na opakované objevení reklam během prohlížení edukačních videí čili určit, jak se mozek učí zvykat/reagovat na reklamní podněty během prohlížení edukačních videí a jestli existuje rozdíl v mozkové reakci na homo- a heterogenní reklamní podněty. Nové experimentální paradigma bylo vytvořeno pro tento výzkum. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 18 participantů, náhodně rozdělených do tří skupin: dvou experimentálních a jedné kontrolní skupiny. Do závěrečné analýzy se dostalo 15 participantů, s ohledem na technické nedostatky. Analýza byla provedená pomocí evokovaných potecniálů a dvou druhů spektrální analýzy. Výsledky poukazují na to, že homogenní reklamy míň narušují plynulost percepce prohlížejícího videa, než heterogenní, ale můžou vyžadovat výraznější diferenciaci. This bachelor thesis focuses on theoretical elaboration and empirical research of the topic of habituation and perception of static advertisements in the cyberspace during video perception. The theoretical part contains a summary of the theory and research of habituation, perception of advertisements, and visual perception, as well as the theoretical basis of electroencephalography. The empirical part describes the intention, design, implementation, results of the research and their discussion. The between-subject experimental design is constructed to mimic real cyberspace, where advertisements become noise and distractions to the Internet users. The study aims to measure the brain's habituation response to repeated advertisement presentation while viewing educational videos based on following biophysical signals (using electroencephalography), i.e., to determine how the brain learns to get used to or respond to advertising stimuli during educational video streaming and whether there is a difference in brain reaction to homo- and heterogeneous advertising stimuli. A new experimental paradigm was created for this research. 18 participants took part in the research, randomly divided into three groups: two experimental groups and one control group. 15 participants' data proceeded to the final analysis, due to technical deficiencies of signal processing. The analysis was performed using the following EEG methods: Event-Related Potentials, Event-Related Spectral Perturbation, and Power Spectral Analysis. The results indicate that homogeneous advertisements are less disruptive to the fluency of perception of the video viewer than heterogeneous ones, but may require more prominent differentiation.
