2008 - anglický Tématem bakalářské práce je {\clqq}Využití styčných bodů kultury a historie Česka a anglickojazyčného světa v oblasti cestovního ruchu (se zvláštním zřetelem k možnostem Jihočeského kraje)``. Práce je rozdělena do pěti kapitol. První kapitola se zabývá styčnými body kultury a historie Česka a anglickojazyčných zemí a uvádí stručný výčet osobností, které takové styčné body mohou představovat. Následuje úvaha o významu cestovního ruchu pro národní hospodářství i pro ekonomiku Jihočeského kraje a rešerše nejznámějších průvodců po České republice. V další kapitole jsou uvedeny vybrané subregiony Jihočeského kraje, které mají vazby na anglickojazyčný svět. V poslední kapitole uvádíme vybraná místa v Jihočeském kraji jako doporučenou nabídku pro určité skupiny návštěvníků i jako možnou formu využití např. v rámci webové prezentace. The subject of the paper is the Czech cultural landscapes and icons perceived as bearing national/cultural significance to English-speaking nations: the tourism industry perspectives (with a special regard to the South Bohemia region). The paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter presents certain ties between culture and history of the Czech lands and the English-speaking countries and briefly lists those individuals in history and/or culture who could be considered as such ties, followed by reflections on the importance of tourism for the national economy and the economy of the South Bohemia region. It includes also the results of research performed in guidebooks in relation to the cultural landscapes and icons perceived as bearing national/cultural significance to English-speaking nations. The next chapter describes some sub-regions of South Bohemia that feature cultural or historical ties between the Czech lands and the English-speaking countries. Understanding Space and Landscape in Jack Kerouac's Novels

2018 - anglický Práce v úvodu představí hlavní autory beatnické generace a jejich myšlenkový odkaz. Práce se dále soustředí na pojetí prostoru a popis krajiny v románech Jacka Kerouaca (On the Road, Big Sur) v souvislosti s tematikou tvorby beatnické generace (hledání smyslu lidské existence, motiv cesty, spiritualismus a vztah k náboženství). Jedna z kapitol práce porovná životopisná fakta představitelů beatnické generace (Kerouac, Ferlinghetti) a autobiografické rysy tvorby Jacka Kerouaca, především v románu Big Sur. Závěr práce shrne Kerouacův obraz literární Kalifornie a jeho prostorové vnímání Ameriky jako celku. In the introduction of this thesis I will introduce the main authors of the beat generation and their thought reference. The thesis then focuses on the understanding of space and the landscape in Jack Kerouac's novels (On the Road, Big Sur) in connection with the theme of the creation of the Beat Generation (search for the meaning of human existence, the motif of the road, spiritualism and the relation to religion). One of the chapters of this thesis compares the biographical facts of the representatives of the beat generation (Kerouac, Ferlinghetti) and the autobiographical features of Jack Kerouac's work, especially in the novel Big Sur. The conclusion of the thesis summarizes Kerouac's image of literary California and its space perception of America as an unit. V praktické části jsou porovnány anglické a vietnamské idiomy, které jsou rozdělené podle stupně ekvivalence. This bachelor's thesis deals with the comparison of English and Vietnamese idioms. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical section. 2019 - anglický Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vyučovacími metodami a tím jako jsou aplikovány v praxi. Zaměřuje se především na jejich vývoj a popisuje techniky a principy, které jsou pro ně charakteristické. Praktická část vychází z poznatků získaných při pozorování hodin v jazykových školách a zkušenosti jedné účastnice, která absolvovala sugestopedický kurz. V každém kurzu jsou pozorovány stejné aspekty, které hrají důležitou roli, co se týče úspěšnosti přístupu ve vyučování. Tato práce si klade za cíl poukázat na silné a slabé stránky jednotlivých metod a porovnat výsledky z pozorovacích hodin. Abstract This thesis is concerned with language teaching methods and how they there are applied in practise. It focuses mainly on their development and description of techniques and principles that are characteristic for these methods. The practical part is patterned on findings gained from observation of classes in different language schools and also on experience of one student who attended the suggestopedic course. In each course the same aspects are observed, which play an important role in a success rate of an approach to teaching. The thesis sets out to show the advantages and disadvantages of particular methods and compared the results of classroom observation. A phytocenological analysis was supplemented with information about water and light conditions. 2014 - anglický Předmětem této práce je analýza románu Jonathana Coea The House of Sleep (Dům spánku) v kontextu současné britské experimentální prózy. V teoretické části se práce zaměří na hlavní rysy a vývoj britského postmoderního románu a zanalyzuje roli a funkce spánku. Dále se bude zabývat tématy hledání vlastní identity a budování paralelních světů. V praktické části rozpracuje dominantní motiv šílenství, zaměří se na nejednoznačnost postav včetně nejednoznačnosti jejich sexuální orientace a v neposlední řadě provede tematickou analýzu hlavních postav v kontextu absence či nenaplněnosti jejich touhy. Práce se rovněž pokusí vysledovat základní rysy narativní techniky typické pro postmoderní román. The subject matter of this thesis is to analyse the novel The House of Sleep by Jonathan Coe in the context of the contemporary British experimental prose. In the theoretical part the work will focus on the main features and the development of the British postmodern novel and it will analyse the role and functions of sleep. Additionally, it will deal with the topics the search for identity and creating parallel worlds. In the practical part it will elaborate the dominant motif of insanity and it will focus on the ambiguity of the chief protagonists including the ambiguity of their sexual orientation. Last but not least, this thesis will provide a thematic analysis of the main characters in the context of the absence or the unfulfillment of their desires. Besides, this thesis will attempt to find out the basic traits of the narrative technique typical of postmodern novels. 2016 - anglický Tématem této bakalářské práce je literární analýza tří románů amerických židovských spisovatelů Chaima Potoka, Philipa Rotha a Isaaca Bashevise Singera a pohled těchto autorů na vznik a vývoj židovského státu Izrael. Úvodní teoretická část definuje základní pojmy a historické události nezbytné pro další postup.V následující části je každému autorovi věnována jedna kapitola, přičemž po krátkém úvodu následuje analýza jednotlivých děl, jejich jazykových prostředků a přístupu jednotlivých postav k danému tématu.Závěrečná čast se pokouší porovnat společné a rozdílné prvky románů a definovat jejich vliv na čtenáře. Každý román se odehrává v jiném období, poukazují tedy na proměnu veřejného mínění a pohledu na Izrael jako takový. The topic of this bachelor thesis is the analysis of novels of three Jewish American authors Chaim Potok, Philip Roth and Isaac Bashevis Singer and their respective approach to the establishment and development of the State of Israel. The theoretical part of the thesis considers the historical events and summarizes basic terms necessary for further research. In the following part the novels are analyzed in terms of their devices and the various perspectives of Israel provided by the protagonists. The final part of the thesis attempts to compare the novels in terms of common and individual features and their respective impact on the reader. As each of the novels covers a different period, they are eventually used to demonstrate how the public approach to the State of Israel has changed over time. 2017 - anglický Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou složených substantiv v anglickém jazyce, konkrétně jejich tvořením a užitím. Teoretická část je zaměřena na popis a výskyt kompozit v angličtině a jejich zvláštnosti. Stěžejním jevem práce jsou substantivní kompozita, jejich druhy a způsoby jejich tvoření. Praktická část zjišťuje, jak velký problém činí zkoumaná kategorie kompozitních substantiv žákům druhého stupně základní školy a žákům nižšího stupně gymnázia. Na základě dotazníku zkoumá, jak se dokážou vypořádat s pravidly tvoření kompozit a s výjimkami při tvoření složených substantiv v současné angličtině. The thesis deals with the rules of compound nouns in English language, specifically with their formation and usage. The theoretical part focuses on the description and occurrence of compounds in English and their specific features. The focus is given to compound nouns, their types and ways of formation. The practical part investigates how complicated these issues are for pupils of primary schools and for pupils of eight-year grammar schools. Based on a questionnaire, it explores how pupils can understand the rules of the compound formation and the exceptions connected to the formation of compound nouns in English language.
