Multiband fiber polygon for accurate time and coherent frequency transmission

2022 - Czech The CESNET association, in cooperation with the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (Institute of Scientific Instruments of the CAS, abbreviated ISI CAS), ČD Telematika and University Palacký in Olomouc (UPOL) Department of Optics built a multiband polygon on real optical routes . The multiband polygon is designed for two-way transmission of ultra-stable quantities, i.e. transmission of acurrate time and coherent frequency (T/F). Sdružení CESNET ve spolupráci s Ústavem přístrojové techniky akademií věd České republiky (Institute of Scientific Instruments of the CAS, zkr. ISI CAS), ČD Telematika a Univerzitou Palackého v Olomouci (UPOL) katedry optiky v rámci výzkumných aktivit vybudovaly multipásmový polygon na reálných optických trasách. Multipásmový polygon je určen pro obousměrný přenos ultra-stabilních veličin, tedy přenos přesného času a koherentní frekvence (T/F). Možnosti sběru dat pro studium topoklimatu
2007 - Miroslav Vysoudil: Data Acquisiton for Topoclimate Research: Ways and Means Conventional topoclimate study proceeds from detail topoclimate map construction. This map represents empiric model that describes topoclimate on the base of insolation level and type of active surface. It is possible to construct this map without knowledge of meteorological elements regime. However present needs request that topoclimate categories mirrors reality as quantitatively as qualitatively. Terrain topoclimatic observation analyze allows to achieve this goals. The information sources of meteorological elements courses for topoclimate study represent most frequently automatics stationary stations, mobile measurements, and thermal monitoring. At the time, the Department of Geography at Palacky University of Olomouc, disposes with technical equipment for obtain of all kind mentioned data. Capture of needed as morphometric georelief parameters as land cover data is not subject of article. The Research Center for the Development of Old and Middle Czech from the Proto-Slavic Period to the Present

2012 - Czech The article describes history, structure and activities of the Research Centre for the Development of Old and Middle Czech from the Proto-Slavic Period to the Present. The Centre connects three important domestic scholarly institutions dealing with Czech Studies: the Department of Language Development and the Etymological Department of the Institute of the Czech Language, the Department of Czech Language, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University in Brno and the Department of Czech Studies at the Palacký University in Olomouc. Its aim is to coordinate the activities of these institutions and support researchers in the Czech Republic and abroad as well as students in their research activities. The six-year project has enabled more than 250 publications, including monographs, dictionaries, articles and dissertations, in addition to the organization of international conferences and career support for young scholars. Článek popisuje historii, strukturu a činnost Výzkumného centra vývoje staré a střední češtiny (od praslovanských kořenů po současný stav). V centru jsou sdruženy tři významné tuzemské bohemistické vědecké instituce: oddělení vývoje jazyka a etymologické oddělení Ústavu pro jazyk český AV ČR, Ústav českého jazyka Filozofické fakulty Masarykovy univerzity v Brně a Katedra bohemistiky Filozofické fakulty Univerzity Palackého v Olomouci. Jeho cílem je těsněji propojit a zkoordinovat významná domácí střediska lingvistické bohemistiky univerzitní a akademická a poskytovat všestrannou podporu badatelům domácím i zahraničním. Během šesti let trvání Centra v jeho rámci nebo s jeho podporou vzniklo více než 250 publikačních výstupů (monografie, slovníky, odborné články v časopisech a sbornících, disertace), byly uspořádány mezinárodní vědecké konference a v neposlední řadě Centrum umožnilo zaměstnání absolventů vysokoškolského studia, díky čemuž mohli úspěšně zahájit samostatnou badatelskou činnost na domácích špičkových vědeckých pracovištích. Laser cooling of the trapped ions for frequency and time metrology

2016 - Czech In the laser cooled trapped ions field current research is oriented to yield isolated ions in their basic state of the motion. The detection of the Doppler cooled iont excitation to its quadrupole transition of the electronic structure gives the opportuniny to stabilize highly coherent lasers of the optical frequency of the hundreds of THz. This way a new standart of the time or optical frequencies called „Optical atomic clock“ can be defined. Institute of the Scientific Instruments in Brno in the cooperation with the Department of the Optics of the Palacky University in Olomouc implemented a unique research infrastructure for laser cooling of 40Ca+ ions and subsequent experiments of the quantum mechanics and spectroscopy in a joint laboratory in Brno. Currently 40Ca+ ions are routinely generated and captured. The Doppler cooling of those ions is performed using dipole transition at a wavelength of the 397 nm. Also detection and spectroscopy of the electronic structure of the ion and the presence of his dark resonances is implemented.\n Současný výzkum v oboru laserového chlazení zachycených iontů vede k získání izolovaných iontů v základním pohybovém stavu. Detekce excitovaného Dopplerovsky zchlazeného iontu na jeho kvadrupólový přechod elektronické struktury dává příležitost ke stabilizaci vysoce koherentních laserů na optické frekvenci řádu stovek THz. Tímto způsobem lze definovat nový standard času či optické frekvence zvaný "Optické atomové hodiny". Ústav přístrojové techniky v Brně ve spolupráci s Katedrou optiky Univerzity Palackého v Olomouci realizují unikátní výzkumnou infrastrukturu pro laserové chlazení 40Ca+ iontů a následné experimenty kvantové mechaniky a spektroskopie ve společné laboratoři v Brně. V současnosti jsou rutinně generovány a zachytávány 40Ca+ ionty. Je prováděno jejich Dopplerovské chlazení prostřednictvím dipólového přechodu na vlnové délce 397 nm a prováděna detekce a spektroskopie elektronické struktury iontu a výskyt jeho temných rezonancí.
