Evaluation of environment in the Czech Republic – June 2020

In June CVVM survey was focused on environmental issues. Respondents were asked about how satisfied or dissatisfied they are with the state of environment in the Czech Republic and in their place of residence. Next citizens rated the size of their satisfaction with concrete areas of environment in their residence such as cleanness of air, surrounding nature and surface water. Respondents also evaluated traffic density, level of noise and the quality of drinking water. We also examined whether people are interested about information about the state of the environment and whether they have sufficient information on the state of the environment. V rámci červnového šetření se Centrum pro výzkum veřejného mínění SOÚ AV ČR zabývalo problematikou životního prostředí. Respondenti byli dotazováni na to, jak jsou spokojeni či nespokojeni se stavem životního prostředí v České republice a v místě svého bydliště, kde kromě celkového stavu hodnotili i některé konkrétní oblasti životního prostředí (např. čistotu ovzduší, kvalitu pitné vody, hustotu silničního provozu či úroveň světelného znečistění). Šetření dále zjišťovalo, zda se lidé zajímají či nezajímají o informace týkající se životního prostředí v ČR a zda je považují za dostatečné či nedostatečné.

The CVVM SOÚ AV ČR surveyed the environmental topics in the period from August to September 2023. Respondents were asked how satisfied or dissatisfied they were with the condition of the environment in the Czech Republic generally and in their place of residence. They were also asked to evaluate the situation in relation to various activities or facts that have an impact on the state of the environment.\n\nIn regard to the state of the environment, respondents rate the environment in their place of residence (79%) better than the overall state of the environment in the Czech Republic (72%), while satisfaction with the state of the environment in their place of residence and the Czech Republic as a whole has declined slightly year-on-year.\n\nThe most problematic perception is the traffic density in the place of residence. A majority of citizens are dissatisfied with the traffic situation in their place of residence (56%).\n\nOn the other hand, citizens are most satisfied in the long term with the availability of wildlife in their place of residence, with which more than four-fifths of them are satisfied according to the current survey (81%); three-quarters are also satisfied with the quality of drinking water (75%).\n\nWith the exception of the quality of drinking water, people living in rural areas are more satisfied with all areas of the environment in their place of residence compared to urban respondents. In contrast, people from the suburbs of large cities are significantly most satisfied with the quality of drinking water, followed by people from villages. The biggest differences in favour of villages over cities are observed in the case of light pollution, air cleanliness and cleanliness of the surrounding nature. V rámci svého šetření realizovaného v období srpna až září 2023 se CVVM SOÚ AV ČR zabývalo problematikou životního prostředí. Respondenti byli dotazování na to, jak jsou spokojeni či nespokojeni se stavem životního prostředí v České republice a v místě svého bydliště, a dále měli zhodnotit situaci v souvislosti s různými aktivitami nebo skutečnostmi, jež ovlivňují stav životního prostředí.\n\nZ hlediska stavu životního prostředí respondenti lépe hodnotí životní prostředí v místě svého bydliště (79 %) oproti celkovému stavu v ČR (72 %), přičemž spokojenost se stavem životního prostředí v místě bydliště i celkově v ČR meziročně mírně poklesly.\n\nNejproblematičtěji je vnímaná hustota silničního provozu v místě bydliště. Nadpoloviční většina občanů je s dopravní situací ve svém bydlišti nespokojena (56 %).\n\nNaopak dlouhodobě nejspokojenější jsou občané s dostupností volné přírody v místě svého bydliště, s níž jsou dle aktuálního šetření spokojeny více než čtyři pětiny z nich (81 %), tři čtvrtiny jsou také spokojeny s kvalitou pitné vody (75 %).\n\nS výjimkou kvality pitné vody se všemi zkoumanými oblastmi životního prostření v místě svého bydliště jsou více spokojeni lidé, kteří žijí na vesnici, oproti dotázaným z města. S kvalitou pitné vody jsou naopak významně nejspokojenější lidé z předměstí velkých měst a po nich lidé z vesnic. Největší rozdíly ve prospěch vesnic oproti městům zaznamenáváme v případě světelného znečištění, čistoty ovzduší a čistoty okolní přírody.
